2. its beyond imagination to be so ludicrously rich you literally couldn't burn money fast enough. poor guy! :p
3. fookin here here Steve
4. lol, steady on there old fella! good question though, i wouldnt mind if they drove it properly, kept it clean and topped her up with '98 before dropping her back off outside, leaving the turbo timer to run for 3 mins. i think i would seriously be pissed if it got nicked so close to M minus zero :D its getting a good varied drive though mate, nice 20-mile countryside run to work and back mixed with some traffic and villages. if she impresses me then she can have her new interior, most of which is lying around in my bedroom at the moment
5. im not sure about the first two clips, but i've got fast fingers after watching these two!!!
6. to be honest im torn between Conservative and (the taboo word) BNP :x: . i normally vote blue, but i think theyre just going to be too soft. i want what's right for British people for a change, of ALL religions and colours!
7. i would NEVER sell my wife and kids for petrol money!!! :nono: :nono: i dont have either ;)
8. ah bugger i was going to say i had the same problem - it sounded like an old diesel engine between that sort of rev range. turned out it was my VVT springs (and my bottom end had gone as well  ) ps. love your avatar mate - Atari power
9. Happy Birthday Diane!! :duffer:
10. cheers :D :duffer: happy birthday the other 3 as well!
11. mate as you know we're in a similar boat as I'm coming to the end of my running-in stage. over the first few hundred miles after rebuild, it was running between 90 and 95. over the next few hundred miles the average has been gradually coming down. now it runs at between 80 and 85 while driving, and up to 91 when stationary. im sure i had an airlock at one stage, as each time the coolant was filled (once as an aftermarket rad i had installed turned out to have a hole in it :slap: ), and again after the front pipes burst, it would run quite warm for 100 miles or so, then start to behave itself a little more. i have a Koyo rad, vented headlight panel, stock viscous fan, and a bloody great UK numberplate straight across the radiator :slap: which is going to get shifted soon! reading from an aftermarket temp gauge
12. has anyone else noticed that there are more and more paxo's and other chav cars going round with big holes cut into the front bumper, or the front grille removed, or even (like i saw today) a red escort with the whole front bumper removed!? are these guys pretending theyve got a drift-spec 200sx or something??? theyll never realise that japanese styling will never ever suit a european car!! :nono:
13. ive nearly finished running mine in. ive had forged pistons, 555s, 360-degree turbos, divorced downpipes and a handful of other stuff. for me it was, run in for 500 miles with no boost and under 3k rpm then oil change, run for another 500 miles, boosting up to 3psi or so and under 4k rpm then oil change, run for another 1000 miles, boosting up to 11psi (then backing down to 7) and still under 4k rpm as i hit 2000 which i will do shortly, its a matter of ramping things up until im at 17psi and full rev range
14. typical Duffers - suggesting something completely bizarre but thats probably the right answer :D i'll do a search on checking those
15. yeah the only Z ive seen is the rear centre panel in the closing credits of the 1st film. ironic really, as the whole film is based on the original story of a guy street-racing his 300ZX for money!!!! check the special features of the first one.
16. pmsl! im not imagining things Darren. im not paranoid its just everyone thinks i am  Fry: its not a squealing sounds it a whistle under deceleration in gear.
17. the same has actually happened before - to get onto my driveway i have to reverse diagonally up the kerb slope and i wonder if the twisting is buggering something up. when it first happened (about 4 years ago) im sure it was a boost leak too and it was fixed (cant even remember who fixed it!) sometimes it happens all the time, sometimes it will stop happening and the car will feel really "tight" as in accelleration. sometimes its on and off, and under accelleration i can feel it stepping on (nice and tight :p ) and off (farty and like an Xr3i) if its a boost leak, where is it leaking from?
18. ok here's yet another ambiguous 'theres something not quite right with my Z' threads from my collection  recently there's been 3 different noises, all linked, coming from the old girl: upon accelleration and boost, there's a feint rapid plastic'y farting sound coming from directly behind the steering wheel. i have a Profec installed near there, tho i know its not the noise that makes when holding boost (sounds fairly similar tho). and during overrun, theres the same noise but much louder coming from the zorst, followed by a whistling sound like a stone's caught in the brakes (tho im not braking!). the car has also lost some power. a virtual :smw: to the first guesser, lol
19. Genuine question - Mainiac, what 0-60 are you achieving at '21psi'?
20. immmmm.......iiinnnnn...lllooovvvveeeeee^£*^%$
21. lol, similar here too. shortly after my build i had coolant problems. turned out it was the front water pipes going under the plenum, but i still get a gurgle from beneath the engine now and then, sounds like AIV gurgle but my aivs were removed.
22. for sure! cant remember the last time we went there in convoy :( i'll have to leave work early to be able to make it, but seeing as my boss goes sometimes (he has an 80's aston martin vantage v8  ) that might be arranged ;)
23. "would you consider swapping for a Y Reg Ford Fiesta?"
24. the one im looking for in particular i cant find any more. its a cream as opposed to a ball or a spray. plus if youre lucky and you can find a bulk lot then you can get it quite cheap. sadly none on there at the moment - just minge tightener :(
