  1. The car probably still has the Jap limiter on hence the 130k max, as for overdrive it gives you an extra gear, the idea as I understand it is you leave overdrive off round town to save on gearchanges and on for the extra gear when doing motorway type driving, as for hold its mainly for wet weather use, the car will pull away in 2nd gear and change up slower, I think the manual states its for "sedate" town driving, at least thats how I remember it, I may be corrected later?
  2. I saw this the other week, I doubt she would have got a very good reception back then, its hard enough getting a signal now some times ! More likely she had an itchy ear as she was walking along and muttering to herself.
  3. Undo the four bolts on the rear of the backrest and that will pull out, the lower part is held in with a couple of push clips at the front which you should be able to feel near the carpet, a firm tug near these will pull this part out as well.
  4. If someone is trying to sell you one brand over another then its more likely there is a higher profit margin for him on the Nexens, his business making a profit is likely to be of more importance to him.
  5. Yes thats the address I have been to, sorry for writing Harleston but I had just finished a long night shift, I got the H right though.
  6. Is it the address in Harleston you checked out as I have been to collect parts from him on a number of occasions at that address and can comfirm its his, I have always found him reliable and helpful although possibly his opinion of what is in good condition is not as high as others.
  7. Maybe this ? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=83933&highlight=free
  8. I think your refering to a thread I started years ago that became sticky so that all newcomers could see it, I have no idea where it may have gone but sure it must be in the archives somewhere.
  9. We did monthly car competitions and to be honest no one was ever that interested, but as I stated if anyone at all wants the pics removed then I or any mod will do it, I am proud of Isobel and the way she looks and would love to win, Isobel posed for these particular pictures especially for the competition, if it had not rained heavily she would have been stood next to the car and is more than happy for me to post the pictures.
  10. I guess we are all different but if it is something that bothers you I am happy to remove pictures, its all done for a laugh and not meant to cause problems.
  11. Isobel was a glamour model at 18 so I am use to the idea of men seeing her in different states of undress, its just a body after all.
  12. Lucky I didn't upload the "other" ones to photobucket if they found that offensive
  13. Isobel said thanks for the votes but she is in it to win it .... and will do whatever it takes !! :whistling::whistling:
  14. RIP to all the innocent people affected by this and all other acts of terrorism.
  15. Well you dont get many threads like this lasting so long and its a refreshing change, I for one did like Si and think his ban for me will make this site less enjoyable, he had very good knowledge of the 300zx and one of the best examples around, with him and a few other people that have left / been banned there is a lot less banter and I find myself using the search button for when I need the occasional technical info and hardly ever posting anything else, if I did not want the use of the for sale section I doubt I would subscribe but this is of course just my point of view. I would love to see a little less moderation which would hopefully open the forum up for a bit more quick witted banter, I understand as Stella has said its not an easy job, I applied to be a moderator a couple of times in the past when I used to post a lot but was never accepted, sometimes I feel glad thats the case as they do seem to get jumped on when they are giving up their free time to help run the place.
  16. They are a reasonable make although the ones I have come across have not been stainless steel (apart from the tips) like the really good ones so dont expect them to last forever, the one on my car sounded good although with an annoying rumble noise around 3k revs.
  17. Gliptone is another company to try, they do a colour matched dye for 300zx leather seats as well as the usual cleaners and conditioners.
  18. I just did the belts on my NA and the PS belt goes on the outer two rings of the crank pulley not the inner two, not sure thats any help or different on a TT ?
  19. Thanks but that one is for a car fitted with a standard crank pulley, mine has an underdrive pulley and requires a smaller belt, yours was 965mm and I needed 925mm. The idler pulley is the part you adjust to tension the belt, the bearing broke up on mine and snapped the belt hence both needed replacing
  20. Its only a belt, I did ideally want to fit a gates belt but had to get it sorted on the day and its the only one I could find locally, the idler pulley broke before Christmas and its taken me this long to get it sorted !! lovely cold air again just in time for winter.
  21. I enjoy having air con in my everyday bus !! just to add the closest I could find was a QH 925mm belt which fitted a treat.
  22. For anyone searching for the info the length is 905mm or 36.5 inches, thanks all, Richard.
  23. Can anyone tell me the length of air con belt required for an NA 1990 with an unorthodox underdrive pulley, did a search but not found the info needed :cool2:
  24. Smithy, looks like she is having an "effect" on your handbrake !
  25. I would love to meet up but would feel a bit old to be stood around a MaccieDs car park !
