  1. Oops. I live in Langston which is near Portsmouth.
  2. Hi Everyone Just wanted to reintroduce myself. My names Chris, I had my first 300zx when I was 21 (a nice grey import TT auto), my second some 12 years later (blue uk TT manual) and now another (flip uk TT manual). I brought the car as stock for my new car trading business (more details to follow within the next 12 months) with the intention to return it back to standard HOWEVER I've fallen in love with her and now plan to run it as my personal example car (that's how I'm justifying keeping it to the wife) ? Looking forward to catching up, learning more about the 300 and hopefully getting to meet some of you. (Any local owners want to meet up please message me). ? Cheers, Chris.
  3. Hi guys. I've just brought my 3rd 300zx which is in great condition however there are a few minor body issues that need addressing. So I'm after a few parts for a 94 uk model. First is the rear spoiler, the existing has a little bubbling in the paint but as the paint might be hard to match I'd rather paint a replacement spoiler just in case the spray job doesn't match well. The second part is the off side wing mirror. The leading edge has been clipped and split. Again rather than try and spray the edge I think it will be best to get a whole new unit and paint the lot. (Is a UK wing mirror the same as an import?) Cheers, Chris. P.S. Loving being back in another 300zx.?
  4. Coo, thanksl. But do I need to have some fittings on my roof to take the blinds?
  5. Bringing this post back to life, can anyone advice me IF all UK targa blinds fit the tops? I can't see how a set would attach to my roof. If I remember correctly you need two locating holes on each top and a slot to slide them in. (Would someone be kind enough to post a picture of the attachment?) And can these be retro fitted? Cheers, Chris.
  6. Thanks Richard. I didn't know that you should have half a tank in the expansion tank when cold, I'll double check that in the morning. :)
  7. Havant, near Portsmouth. But the standard oil pressure gauge seems very vague. Flies up to 60+ Psi on a cold start up, then falls to below 15Psi on idle when warm and goes up to 30Psi when driving under good acceleration.
  8. I'm going to get a few AM gauges fitted asap (oil temp and pressure and water temp) but I can't see why a faulty standard gauge would give a quick reading, I could understand a slow reading. As I'm new to the scene I don't know anyone or any thing about the Conzult system. I want to set up a local meet but don't have the time until October. :(
  9. Hi all. Just a quick question, how long does it take for the 300zx TT to get it's water up to full operating temperature? Mine seems to get up to full temp within a mile and this seems very quick and I'm a little worried, although it doesn't go above have way on the dial. I popped the bonnet after a spirited run and it was roasting under there, even the inner wings were hot. I've checked the water levels but i'm not sure I'm doing this correctly. My understanding is if the engine is cold the fluid in the rad should be brimmed and if the engine is hot you can check the level via the expansion tank? Ok that was two questions. ;) Chris.
  10. Cheers guys. I'll have a good look at them tonight. :)
  11. I've now found my latest 300ZX. I went for Pauls UK 300zx and a very nice car it is to, http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?169878-SOLD-PRICE-DROPPED-1993-Series-2-UK-300ZX-LWB-TT-99-spec-style-with-goodies!. It need a little work, I spent all day yesterday covering the driver seat and detailed the interior. I'm really impressed how the external road noise doesn't come into the cab but I'm frustrated about the rattling of the trim. New weekend I hope to find time to start pulling the trim off to see if things can be put back together better. I also found time this morning to clay bar the body and through a coat of wax on. Started a 0600 and finished at 0840! Pictures to follow. ;) Chris.
  12. Hi guys. Just giving my new 300zx a good detail and thought I'd check the drain holes are clear. I was able to push some cable down the rear holes and it went about 1.2 meter down then stopped. Can someone please tell me where the drain points end and should the cable be able to go all the way out the underside of the car? Cheers, Chris.
  13. To be honest though its a really good bit of kit, the level of detail is great. I brought on 6-7 years ago and still have it, might see what a ready built one is worth. ;)
  14. Sorry Mark, got my answer and didn't check this post again. I've not got a 300zx at the moment. I'm toying with the idea and went to look at one the other day. It was pritty rough but what bothered me most was the start up oil pressure was very low and got lower as she warmed up. Coming from a Fiat Coupe 20vt if you have a start up pressure less than 2 bar then you're about to have your wallet raped and I haven't got the time or cash to be thinking of that within the first year. As it turns out I've just brought a van for my new buisnes which cost more than I was wanting to spend (right decision though) and I'm having trouble selling my Fiat for the price I think it's worth, so I'm probably just going to have to put the 300zx resto project on ice for now. Again probably the right decision as I should be focusing all my efforts on the buisnes. Cheers, Chris.
  15. Thanks mate. That's a lot of hot idle covered there but only one post about pressure from could which talked about 100psi (which sound about right to me). Just I went to visit a 300 today which gave probably around the 15psi from idle, very worrying?
  16. Hi guys Just wondering if someone could tell me what (providing the oil pressure guage is working correctly) the oil pressure should be starting a tt from cold? Also, while we're at it, what would you expect the presure to be whilst driving? Cheers, Chris.
  17. Tip of the day? I did try looking them up on Google as I'd not heard of them.
  18. Anyone else had a look?
  19. Ummm. Somethings just not adding up here. Did you see the car, what was the condition of the body work/seals like before the respray? By the way thanks for your input. :)
  20. I had taken the 450bhp with a very large pintch of salt (I hate it when people claim x amount of power then babble on about the sterio they've added without a word on how this supper power increase has happend) So does the millage line up with what you spotted last year? Interesting that he's only had it a year.
  21. Hi guys. I was wondering if any one here knows anything about this 300zx up for sale on Ebay, other than it a white 300zx etc.:tt2: It's a bit of a long shot that it might have been to a few meets or that a previous owners here as it's an island car but you never know. Any info welcome. Chris.
  22. Forget my waffling about can you do this, that and the other. I just remembered zedworld and have taken a good look around their site.
  23. Sorry I can't see how to edit a post so just to add I was a paid up member of a 300zx club, not sure if it was this one though. :blushing:
