  1. Wow, great find! Thanks Andrew.
  2. Hi Jeff Can you remember specifically where this ECU is (near side, off side, front or rear seat)? I want to go on a hunt around my car tomorrow to better understand the UK system on my car, if the actuators are still working and what it will take to install the US system. Cheers, Chris.
  3. Thanks Chris, I currently have Tokico suspension, I’m not sure if oit’s been lowered, and they can’t have more than 16k on them. Out of interest what is the best US 300zx site? I think it might be worth registering with those guys and have a chate to them about it.
  4. That looks nice mate. The paint looks really good, a few things are not for me but I think it all comes together surprisingly well. I do think we need more pictures though and a break down of what you’ve done.
  5. Thanks for the heads up mate. In return I can highly recommend Jim at PowerZed now. Yes it is a bit of a trip but he really is an authority on the 300zx, very helpful and honest.
  6. Thanks for the feedback regarding the Tein suspension. To be honest they sound like they’re going to be too firm for me though.
  7. I’m not up for “sporty stiff” anymore however do like the idea of flipping a button and having a slightly firmer ride should the occasion demand. I’ve got adjustable dampers at the moment and, at the medium setting, find them too firm for the way I want to drive the car 90% of the time. This sounds like a perfect solution for me if I can get all four dampers working on the switch and hopefully lower the ride height.
  8. That’s really interesting Jeff. So all UK 300 had that as standard? I assume I should be able to find a cable that would sit on top of each damper hidden somewhere and if I brought UK standard dampers this should, if still working correctly, stiffen up the rear dampers?
  9. Jim showed me a switch that also had the heated seat buttons on it, very cool. :cool3:
  10. Thanks. My bad, I must have misunderstood. What I did find appeared to suggest that it adjusted the damping of the rear shock only.
  11. Hi guys I was chatting to Jim today at PowerZed and we got onto the subject of suspension. He told me that there was an option back in the day on UK models (and possibly US) to have electronically adjustable shocks. I’ve been surfing the net trying to find some more information but haven’t had much luck. So I was hoping that some of our more senior members might be able to tell me more about it, does anyone still have them on their car, where can you get the units etc... Cheers, Chris.
  12. I’ve seen Andrews post with his sub and it is an impressive install. Andrew has kindly sent over the details of the build and I’m happy that I could, with enough time, build it myself. What’s stopping me is that I can’t decide if the car needs it. It’s a toy and I tend to only drive it with the roof off so can’t really hear the stereo anyway. If it was a daily driver then there wouldn’t be a question about it.
  13. Where is your sub and amp mounted Joely? I’m still not sure wether or not to go down the sub and amp road.
  14. That does look like a nice clean example, looking forward to seeing more pics. Welcome back.
  15. The Saw franchise are taking things to a whole new level! :helpsmilie::death::pinch:
  16. Yes, the mag front cover seems to suggest that body kits are still rife however I don’t see many cars with them fitted anymore
  17. I get the feeling those days are over for jap cars (thank god), ok maybe the horse power thing is still relevant but body kits are looking like a thing of the past. 99% of the really respected 300 tend to be the OEM+ now.
  18. As above from me too. I think it would go a long way to classing up the interior. :cool3:
  19. Thanks. It so hard to get any good photos with this paint, it looks so much better than in any photo I’ve seen. I’d love to see if a professional photographer could get some before I change the colour in a few years.
  20. I had a great result today doing a mornings work on the interior. First job was to see if I could rejuvenate the alcantara interior. It had gone so flat in places it had started to look like black plastic. First thing I tried was a stiff shoe brush and although this was making what already looked ok better it wasn’t really having an effect on the flat areas. Then I remembered an old cleaning kit I brought from Clark’s to clean my Timberlands (go on, take the piss if you must. Long live the ‘90s!). The kit comes with a small wire brush, stiff brush and a, what looks like, compressed sand “rubber”. Using the rubber in small circular rubs the alcantara pluped right up. Then with a sweep with the stiff brush it all came together nicely. Don’t get me wrong it’s not perfect BUT it is so much nicer than it was. Product... Doesn’t really show how bad it was but, before... After... This section was the worst but, as I wasn’t expecting great results, I didn’t take a before picture. But here’s the after... I also fount time to throw some Gliptone leather cleaner and conditioner on the seats. I love the smell of this stuff, if cows wore aftershave this is what I think they should smell like! I also gave her a quick dust off.
  21. Happy Birthday. :happybday:
  22. Thanks Joely I’ll look out for that.
  23. Just order the G101, not cheap but it’s undiluted so should last a long time. Can’t wait for it to turn up now!
