  1. Aye, it was very harsh on the suspension, although I didn't think it particularly low (maybe from being used to low 200sx's though). Personally I wouldn't say it needs paintwork, but I'm not really worried about my cars being particularly shiny etc, I just worry about them being in good mechanical condition. Yeah it's doing well at gaining owners lol.
  2. Sorry boys, I've gone and sold it already :( It is a lovely car, but just not quite for me I think. Plus I managed to convince the missus that we need a 350z, but to do that I had to agree to sell the S14a, the 300zx and her MX5.
  3. Sorry I should have said :) Yeah it doesn't change the look externally as your just having the inner lip rolled outwards a bit towards the arch to make more space.
  4. Stuck a new battery in mine on Saturday. No idea what the make is as didn't even look lol, bought it from battery suppliers near here for £50.
  5. Doing better than me then, I drove from Bath to Kent and it was just under half left. I did stick to errr yeah 70 err whole way.
  6. Hmmm, might look at ducts. Although I always think that if you then drive in the rain your just scooping up extra water into the engine bay. Cheers will go check in a bit once the missus takes over looking after the baby :)
  7. Aye, me likey :) Although I think I'll have to get some foglights (I presume its foglights) to stick in there as I don't like the big gaping holes where they should be. How on earth do you get to the rear coilovers to adjust the damping? I've changed the fronts to a softer setting but can't see how you do the rears, unless you have to get under the car?
  8. Heres a copy of the for sale ad for the car, I haven't taken my own pictures yet as been too busy to clean the car... And I got a copy of the glass damage mentioned in the ad too, apparently caused by an angry ex-wife or something?...
  9. Cheers, incoming :) (although being lazy and using the pics from the for sale ad as cars dirty now and can't be bothered washing it yet) Cheers :) Thanks mate, I tend to drive my cars down to Gravesend a lot as I know a guy down there who works on them for me. Cheers mate, just about to post a wanted ad for a standard shifter, do you know if the bushes/gaitor can be bought brand new (I haven't searched yet but will do later). Pretty sure it is charging the battery, but will double check. I stuck a new battery on there yesterday anyway as dropped off my 14a for some work to be done and the guy works at a battery company :) After putting that on I started it a few times as was driving around on errands and it behaved fine.
  10. Cheers, will do later once I've double checked them as am at work at the moment :( Yeah have experienced the same with short shifters on 200sx's. Seems to make it a 'longer' shift in terms of time taken as it never goes into gear as easily lol. Edit: I mean errr, short shifters are awesome and are definite the best upgrade ever, honest adds like 50bhp! Funnily enough I'll have one for sale soon
  11. Weld them on and make them permanent? :)
  12. Bought it and drove it home last night :) Bit of a long trip - finish work at 5.30pm, bus to Victoria Coach Station, hop straight on National Express coach which leaves a couple of mins later and drops me off at Bath at 9pm (only cost £7), collect car and drive home through billions of miles of roadworks GRRRRRR! arriving home around 2am. Its got a dying battery and had to bump start it first off and then jump start it after stopping to fill with petrol but I'll get a new one tomorrow and seller reduced price £50 to compensate. Suspension is far to harsh for my liking, it is adjustable so I'll try playing with the damper settings at some point. Crunches into gears a bit (can only hear it when purposefully driving slowly/quietly), but I think this is being caused by the quick shifter which is installed. Will be after a standard shifter to fit and hopefully that'll sort it :) Other than that, its a lovely car and great fun to drive! Will put up some pics later.
  13. Tbh any sort of oil should help 're-invigorate' the seal, I guess nut oil would just be the least messy/nicest smelling type to use :)
  14. Probably wouldn't do much good if you could anyway. I think they've changed it in the last couple of years but they used to print receipts on paper using a heat printer. Which means within a couple of years its faded so much you just have a blank bit of paper. Have had to point this out multiple times when getting professional tools replaced and they want to see the receipt! (they often have trouble understanding that the tools last longer than their receipts)
  15. Yep archenemy, remind me by txt later and I'll get the local guys number for you, I know him from SXOC :) Personally I wouldn't go for the negative camber unless required for the alignment.
  16. Unfortunately don't think I did ever see it, but I do spend most of my time at work in Central London and only moved to Sidcup from New Eltham about 6months ago. Yeah it was good thanks, nice to meet you and Terry. Your cars really nice and I actually sent a message to the guy about the one I want to buy saying I'm gonna have it before you even dropped me back to my car lol. Hopefully going to be going and getting it this weekend! Thanks to everyone else too who was willing to give me a ride but our free times didn't line up in the end.
  17. I've done the whole dvd player in car etc thing in the past and to be honest, I never used it. Have a good think on whether it really is worth bothering to get one. I now just have one of these... (The android version though, for some reason its disappeared from Halfords website even though I only got it a few weeks ago from there!) http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&productId=874331&catalogId=10151 As remember, your phone can play films, run satnav etc etc so why pay out money for something else which does too?
  18. Cheers, if me and sumshiftyguy can't manage to arrange a time/day I'll get in contact :) Thanks :) I'd be very surprised at that, I know its rare to see them out and about and theres never very many for sale at a time, but still bound to be more than that.
  19. Hi Vig, Yeah that would be fine if your ok with that. My gf's parents are in Beckenham and we've gotta go over there at least one evening this week anyway. I'll drop you a pm to arrange :) Cheers!
  20. Its always a nice surprise when its only a small issue it fails on :) Remember years ago getting a 3 page list for one of my cars! Although it was all little stuff and I had it fixed and back there the next day.
  21. I've had it happen to both my BT Yahoo and my Hotmail email accounts, although with them they got in and then changed the password so I couldn't get in until I spoke to security and got it reset, they also changed my DOB etc on the BT Yahoo one to make it take me ages to convince security I was who I said I was! Each time it must have been a brute force attack as my passwords aren't dictionary based and I am careful about what computers/networks I use so defo wasn't caught by a keylogger etc either.
  22. Unfortunately its not hard to send an email to someone and pretend its from your account so that you get the replies. However its more likely someone has either guessed your password or used a 'brute force attack' to 'crack' your password. Have you changed your password since?
