Looking for a volunteer in S.E. London/Kent to take me for a drive
Unfortunately for me time is a very precious commodity at the moment so not easy to get to Bath to see it without definitely intending to bring it back with me. I have bought a car from him before and what I did was research as much about it as possible first, then get a national express coach there from London after work one day (£10 ticket!), arrive about 11.30pm, buy the car and drive it back that night :) I'm pretty happy from what you've all said about the car and my experience of buying from this guy before that theres not going to be anything wrong with the car. Also am sure it will drive very nicely. So just all thats left really is that I want to make sure I like sitting in one, i.e. the interior isn't uncomfortable for me or anything. And although I'm sure it probably will be fine, theres always that miniscule chance it won't be, so I don't want to go all the way to Bath to find that out :) Securicar, might have to pop over to you in Basildon sometime soon if you don't mind and if I don't get an offer closer to home.

Cheers for the info (and lol at the banter about which is best!). So the one I'm looking at is LWB as its UK TT and has 4 seats :)

Yup true :) I don't want to pay on here until I definitely know if I'm going to get the car or not. However I've put my S14a up for sale now in expectation that I will buy it :) To be honest, I don't know much about the 300ZX's yet (although I've started reading the info available on here) so any opinions on the car are welcome. I haven't even yet figured out the differences between SWB and LWB etc (and don't know how to spot which is which).

Aye, someone else mentioned that too :) I didn't bother posting the SXOC link as wasn't sure if many people would be able to see it (can't remember if you have to be signed up to see that section) and also just in case anyone saw it and tried to beat me to buying it lol

NEW REO required....
Hehe cheers :) In my experience (maybe different for this club)... Maintain a list of members in your area (so that you can PM them to let them know about events) Organise a decent venue for a monthly meet (i.e. a pub which is fairly central to all your members and doesn't mind people spending half their evening in the carpark staring at engine bays etc) Every so often arrange a rolling road day and perhaps other days too like wheel alignment Keep an eye on what car shows are going to be in your area each year, arrange stands for the club at the ones you feel people would prefer to go to Be on the forum reasonably often, for people to ask about things related to the cars and the forum Maybe arrange a xmas meal each year Help out with arranging and running any national events Get used to feeling like a lot of what you do is in vain, there'll sometimes be no one else except you who turns up for a meet, people will continually drop out of things like rolling road days (deposits help alleviate this I find) etc. Can sound like a lot, but generally not too hard and once you've got into the swing of it its not usually too hard :) Sidcup. Have just started a new thread asking for a ride, so as not to end up taking this one off topid :) http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?174385-Looking-for-a-volunteer-in-S-E-London-Kent-to-take-me-for-a-drive

Forgot to say, I'm in Sidcup. But obviously anyone willing to take me for a drive doesn't have to collect me, I will come to you.

New sills
I know a guy in Gravesend who is very good at welding. Think he only charges around £20-30 an hour for welding nowadays and he'll usually supply the metal too. Only catch is he only works Saturdays so often have to book him a couple of months in advance. I've had many 200SX sills and wheel arches welded by him. Also custom engine/diff mounts etc. Only problem is I can't PM him your number without paying to be a member here and I don't want to post his details in an open forum so if you want his details, let me know your email address and I'll send them over :) EDIT: I've now paid membership so that I can edit my posts and PM people, so feel free to drop me a PM if you want his details :) I know he is fully booked until at least mid-February already though.

Looking for a volunteer in S.E. London/Kent to take me for a drive
I've been contemplating a 300ZX for years and now theres one for sale on SXOC which I am 98% sure I want, but as I've never actually been in one I'd like to get a ride in one first to see what they are like in the flesh. As its in Bath I can't just pop down there quickly for a quick drive in it so am hoping that someone in S.E. London/Kent would be able to take me for a drive in theirs sometime soon? (I say soon, as I don't want to leave it too long in case the car sells) Will repay you for your time/effort with petrol money/beer tokens.

NEW REO required....
I'm totally new to the forum and not yet 100% decided if I am going to buy a 300ZX (just waiting on finding someone around here to take me out for a drive in theirs so I can see what its like, as the one I'm considering is too far away to go for a quick test drive before buying). But, if I do buy one I'll be around here plenty and I have experience of being area rep for larger clubs and as such am well used to organising both regional and national meets/events so I'd be happy to either be REO or help out whoever becomes REO :)

Hi from Kent!
I would of just gone and test driven the car instead usually, but its in Bath so a bit too far to go for a quick test, specially as my little girl was born recently and I'm still at the don't want to be away from her for long stage :)

Hi from Kent!
Cheers, always good to know that people have heard of the car before and know it was looked after. Now, although I already am pretty sure I want the car, I just want to double check by getting a ride in one first. So anyone in Kent/S.E. London fancy taking me for a ride and helping convert me to the Z side? :)

Hi from Kent!
Actually, looking at the pics used to advertise it, they are hosted on http://themurt.com :)

Hi from Kent!
Cheers :) Lol yeah some nice things come in orange don't they ;) Yeah, I think its only advertised on SXOC at the moment. I know it has done at least a few trackdays in its time :)

Hi from Kent!
Cheers :) Ah, that sucks, I've never come across that before on any forum. I'll post up some of my motorbikes too later if anyones interested :D Hi mate, yeah recognise your username :) Details of the car I'm thinking about are below. Thanks. Yeah appreciate it'll be an old car, but tbh that doesn't really bother me, although I had an S-Type Jag recently which was very comfortable and proved how nice more modern cars can be. To be honest, slight loss of handling doesn't matter too much. I keep saying I'm going to do loads of trackdays but I always seem to be inbetween cars when the days are available so haven't actually done one for ages, so I'd say 95% of my driving will be on the roads which means really I've gone a bit OTT with the car I have currently, but I just wanted the stuff so did it anyway lol. Having had V6's in the past, I did like the way the power was delivered, so am expecting to like it in a Z32 as well. This is the description of the car I'm considering and its sub £2k... 386bhp / 365lb.ft - Dyno graph to prove. Custom map on 97 RON fuel so some headroom for trackdays 74k on the clock (history backs this up) The car has full service history (Nissan Stamps up until 50K), Then the car has been maintained by the best 300ZX Specialist in the south west (Jimmer / wwww.powerzed.co.uk) Nissan 300zx OEM 60K Service Timing Belt Kit (Timing Belt, Timing Belt Tensioner, Water Pump, Thermostat, Coolant Bypass Hoses, VTC Springs, VTC O-rings, Cam Seals, Crank Seal) Boosting 14PSI Braided Fuel Lines Japspeed Exhaust from Cat Back Short Shifter RPS Street Max Clutch Nissan Series 2 PTU Brake Master Cylinder replaced Refurbished turbo fitted (at 55K) Brand new OEM 02 Sensors fitted Suspension / Arm work: Driftworks Hicas Elimination bar fitted (Hicas removed) Nismo Bushes in Tension Rod arms D2 Drift Coilovers Front & Rear Wheels: Ultralite Speedstars 8" Front, 9.5" Rear 225/45/18 Michelin Pilot Sport 3 Front Tyres 255/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 Rear Tyres McGuard Locking Wheel Nuts Braking: Skyline R33GTR Black Brembo Calipers 324mm Front Discs EBC Red Stuff pads all round HEL flexi hoses and new front flexi>caliper hard lines fitted for last MOT Bodywork: Rear Arches repaired Rear Sills repaired Nissan OEM 99 Spec Front Bumper Clear Side LED Lights 60K HID Kit Clear side repeaters Glowshift Water Temp / Boost / oil gauges Alpine speakers Finally got around to putting some pics of my 14a on Photobucket, not the best pics but here goes...

Hi from Kent!
Left the car at a friends workshop whilst some of the other guys from SXOC were there and one of them found some chalk :) Btw anyone on here who is also active (or used to be) on SXOC may recognise me from the username. I used to be Essex & Kent rep on there.

Hi from Kent!
Thanks. Not actually uploaded any pics of my current SX to photobucket so can't share till I get home and upload some :) But I can bore you with some pics of other ones I had in the past so will add some below... Thankyou. Cheers mate. Some of my previous cars... (theres lots as I get bored quickly and tend to end up changing cars every 6months!) 200DX (S13 with an E34 TDS engine and diff)... My first 200SX (Stage 2 S14)... My favourite S14a, the only one so far I wish I'd never got rid of... Vectra ST200 (if you don't know them, look em up, lovely car!)... White S13, picked up for £250 a few years ago as it'd been sitting for a while, started up and drove to MOT which it passed, I then added bodykit which had been smashed up and I repaired using rivets and plates cut from a spare wing then painted with poundland rattle cans (I was very skint at the time!). Most of the parts were free or extremely cheap...

Hi from Kent!
Ouch, your not allowed to edit your own posts on here, even a min after you've posted? :( Just thought, in regards to my old account 'Ghazoobe', would it be easier to delete that and just rename this one? :)
-
Hi from Kent!
Hi everyone :) First off, I think I must have registered on here years ago, probably when on the hunt for parts to put on a 200SX, account name was 'Ghazoobe' and I tried logging into it yesterday but was told that the account needs to be reactivated by an admin/mod (I presume due to being left unused for too long), however as I couldn't find any way to send one a PM the only thing I could think was to register a new account and post a thread. Could someone possibly reactivate it for me? I'd prefer to use that account rather than this one as its the same username I stick to on most other car forums. I'm pretty much totally new to 300ZX's and don't know all that much about them, apart from that I am seriously tempted to buy one that I've seen for sale, its a TT putting out around 380bhp and seems pretty cheap but being sold by someone I know and trust. However I'm still not sure I'd like to give up my 200SX for it. My 200SX is an S14a in Kuro Black, with a rollcage, coilovers, carbon bonnet, bodykit, massive brakes etc and running about 280bhp. (will put up some pics later, can't from work) Is there anyone near Sidcup, Kent who would be willing (for beer/petrol tokens) to take me out for a drive in their 300ZX so I can see what they are like? Thanks!
