1. money was spent to make it better round the track lol, well im still learning and having fun. you coming or what ;)
2. the nuts keeping my spacers on are even smaller and ive been thrashing mine round the track ;)
3. Let us know yassa. Theres hardly any long straights, the only bit youl get any speed is past the pits, prob about 100-110 if that. Then round paddock bend which im still to master. Got to try brake as late as poss there but its a bit scary lol.
4. you can get the ass out a bit but you cant drfit round everywhere if ya know what i mean. i might be going bedford autodrome this saturday ;)
5. excessive tyre squeel like when your deliberatley being a knob understeering round every corner lol. they will take u off and have a quiet word with you then let ya get back out.
6. oh p1ssed. I thought the spacers have holes where the nuts go in?
7. i was like, erm where, who, which room for me sign up here? :nelson:
8. just do what i did, cut the protruding studs till they fit in snuggly lol its not rocket science.
9. i didnt remove my hub  just hammer the old ones out. When fitting the new ones youl have to devise a puller to get them in tight, i just used a big nut on the end of the stud with a socket behind it till they were tight and straight. just be careful not to strip the threads.
10. Wasnt too empty, yeah only a certain amount at one time so its pretty good. I saw a few spin offs while i was racing round. ooopsy oh i completely forgot... I was wondering around lost in the control room when i first arrived and guess who i bumped into... Jackie Stewart. I was like eeeeeerm where do i sign in..... Doon stairs lad. I was a bit shocked to say the least... lol
11. my tyres held out well, theres still loads of tread left see pic above. You have to be able to make the tyres last by not making the car understeer excessively which is easily done and just results in loads of tyre squeel and wear, the marshalls will flag you off if your making the tyres squeel anyway. I think youl fit four wheels and tyres in a 2+2 anyhow :D heres a link to most of the track days available in the uk..... http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/brands-hatch/trackdays/trackdays.asp?type=car im having the urge to book another one in a couple weeks.... maybe bedford autodrome or brands again. Whos up for it? the morning sessions are 3 and a half hours long thats LOADS of time for £119
12. grind the fooker. OOOORRRRR you can purchase one already modified from z1 but thats only if ya a lazy bugger...
13. Il count you both in then. :D Its probably the best thing ive done in my zed so far. A very good track to gain some confidence and experience as its small but has most types of corners so youl learn the track in a few laps, if that makes sense. There were also free caterham rides going which anyone could have a go in.
14. I absolutely loved it. Cant believe how much grip was available today. It was a very hot day however so engine heat keep creeeping up I kept it on stock boost 10psi.... brakes got a little hot too but they worked very well, i think the pad im using is the weak spot as it was glazing the disc i think, but they still held out better than ever. All in all it was a good day. The cars with slicks were very quick and i had no chance round the corners with them. My tyres held out better than expected and got quite hot and sticky im thinking about buying some spare wheels for track days and running semi slicks :D forward vid to 2:20 alot of waiting around sorry :( everyone got their own garage to play around in :D If anyone is interested in coming along next time then we can make it a meet and maybe gather a few cars together. Even if you would like to watch then come along. Its very organised at brands hatch and the drivers are very considerate. Anyone caught doing something wrong is taken off straight away and that includes excessive tyre squeel, drifting, dangerous driving and overtaking on the wrong side. I paid £120 for the day which included 2 hours open pit lane. £10 for passengers full tank of fuel was enough as i went out for 10 mins at a time. signed on at 4pm briefing was at 4:30pm siting laps started at bout 5:30 and from there on it was all go till 8pm So youl have plenty of time to learn the track and grow your confidence. Just gauging some interest at the mo as to who would be interested.
15. wow i didnt realise the sound deadening weighed that much, looks like thats next on my list. We talking bout the bits under the carpets and interior right?
16. i got a set of standard ones but thieving barsteward james fungal has nicked them :(
17. they dont need to be round when your running linglongs ;)
18. well there ya have it...... i wasnt quite sure and didnt wanna put the teins down but wehay ya done it for me :D even tho im running teins at the mo lol
19. teins have a good name and reputation mainly because they are a resonable price, they are still at the lower of the market for performance. The driftworks line are new and have alot less reputation so they are alot cheaper than rivals. You could purchase something as good as endless zeal and spend 4k etc etc. I however will be buying hsd/driftworks next as they are in my price range :D Ive also heard good things and watched cars with this setup perform well. Ideally i need a coilover with hieght adjustment and spring preload separate, not what i currently have which adjusts preload and height together... not so good.
20. probably around 750 new, murt bought his second hand, lucky bugger.
21. they still look new murtle ;) nice one, how much they set ya back? tracking would be a good idea once u have the adjustable camber arms.
22. awww this will be great i loved all those actors :D
23. you can choosd which spring rates to use with the d2's. They come with pillow mounts and are a monotube system along with hieght and spring preload settings which is what im after next.
