Saw the condition of my cams and apparently they are border line to being machined or not. The wear is on the shaft which sits in the head where they make contact and rotate. The thing is though if i had my cam everso slightly machined and the head then surely the head slot would be slightly bigger and the cam slightly smaller, if it isn't still within tolerance is there anything else i could do??? It was really good last night as Mark was pulling my engine about explaining how it works and what the problem was, so i actually understood what i just writen above :D

This is what i'm planning on getting for the engine over the next few days. Wiseco 88mm pistons Eagle rods Toga bearings Toga oil pump new gasket set ARP bolts 60k kit uprated engine mounts egr bypass kit. The plan was to do the head at a later date but due to the condition it has to be done now which i'll have to find some extra dollar some how for. :headvswal The head is in a rather bad mess too and this needs either replacing or mechaning. There was talk of a Skyline or 200sx engine but that's not what i want really.

Hi all, I've been told my cams are fecked. I'm having the bottom end rebuilt but need to replace these or repair them i'm not sure what state they are in. If i was to buy new cams can you recomend a good all rounder, better performance while still being drivable. Is there another option? or just buy new ones? Thanks.

The Zed is finally back in Norwich but still no engine but were back on track and hopefully making up for lost time. Kamikaze that was me and Puppa Smurf (Grey Van Man) who was trying to get you attention earlier. Grey is slightly more agressive than white, as i found out today hehe :rofl:

Yeah i've got the 64bit drivers for the Sound card but they don't work. Happauge don't have vista drivers neither do Creative for the cam i've got, it's a antic. Oh forgot to mention it is the Ultimate edition so it's got media centre but not much good without the tv card working, but that is a con really as when the retail version is realesed you'll want to stay with the Ultimate. I'm installing it on my work pc Monday but that will have to be the 32bit version rather than the 64bit.

That's a poo aint it, sacrifice the raid set up for it. Got most things working except: Creative Fatality Happauge Tv Card Creative Web Cam. But all the drivers for my board work fine also my Graphics card. It really is memory hungry though. One thing it is a 14 day evaluation which i didn't realise until it was installed, not sure what will happen when it runs out, surely they wont charge me for a unstable buggy beta. It's pretty good to be fair, hate to think it will run on a system anything lower speced that mine as at times you can feel it chugging along. What ever you do though keep your old system as a back up. Now downloading Office 2007 aswell.

sorry, it's one of those days. I've been battling it out today to keep the aircon unit, i'm not aloud my window open aswell, i can see their point. but then it's all stuffy and makes me feel sick. Are you going up next Wednesday? depending on what time i get done i might go up but doubt it as it's going to be along day, we have to carry the enigine down a bumpy muddy drive between us, the van wont fit restricted by height and width plus it's a long fairly step slope. What did the build consist of? It will take me forever to run in, i don't do many miles in it. Could run it in down pod on the strip, i actually know someone who took their car down the strip while running in.
