  1. Thought standard was 9psi? 7psi when engine cold or if in limbo/Safe mode. I have boost jets..I generaly set the climate to 40 eco then when the heat starts bellowing out I know that full boost is on...its caught me out a few times..
  2. I have just had fitted a Helix Full clutch.. However my peddle feels ok one minute and then soft to bite point the next...no leaks and after reading on here it sounds like a bleading time job...is there any good distructions anywhere? (on how to fully bleed the clutch system) P.S. Praise be to C and S wood for fitting it....Cheers Phil. I can't call him for getting rid of the Z as he's now got a Porsche (me too.) And one of the muppits at C and S recked their trusty VAN!! sorry, thought i'd throw that in...

  6. I have a set that say 50% brighter. They ended up only costing me a fiver but were £19 from my frendly car shop. They seem to make no differance at all. I can not see a f in thing in the dark and can not do over 30 on a counrty lane at night. Its an import so the bulbs are odd 2 pin small effots that the uk equiv seem to have one pin. Why are they in the magnifying glass part, you'd think it would make them brighter. Has anyone swaped things around. i.e. made the main bean (flash) with a lower watt bulb in as head light, and the head light with higher watt bulb as flash? That is summat I think would be better and have thought of doing/havin a bash. There must be a easy and relitivly cheap way of givin good light out of the standard unit. I've seem upgrades to the fog lights that give out more light. But it should be summat you can drive with, without blinding all oncomming traffic...
  7. Has anyone done anything silly to a car or just plain MAD! I had a VW T25 Camper with a Rover V8 in the back.. Any mad 300zx's out there? Pickys too if poss. Pics of my van still make me laugh as 1/6 of the engine hung out the back coz it was too long.. Someone must have stuck a Chevy in a Z or similar?
  8. Right, sit down the lot of you......(Otherwise you'll fall over p!ss!ng yourselves. I used to race on the Hockenhiem in Germany once a year.. Top I hear you say, in your Z? Nope...in my Camper van!! Ok so you've all fell of the chair.. It was a T25 VW Transporter (the last to have the engine in the back) otherwise known as the brick for its obvious shape and lack of aerodinamics. So, mine had a 3.5 rover V8 up its bottom with standard flywheel (about 1/4 the size and wieght of a rover one) Malary Dissy, Hedman headers, 4 pot Carb yup with a huge silver cromb air filter. 285BHP at the wheels may not sound much compaired to the Z but trust me, on a standard VW box 4 speed you could set off in 3rd and still burn off a RS turbo on the stright!! Anyone else done anything as mad? Mate has a T25 too with a Porsche 3.2 engine and box in. Hes convertions runs into the £1ks mines beat him. I came 3rd most times on the hock. Germans had put just about every engine you can think of in. I start a another post. So let all get bangers, and slap silly engines in and have a banger drag race!!! :p

  12. Anyone removed them? I hear that Jap Imports of which mine is have or could have a restrictor in the exhaust. Also I would like to de cat it as its a 1990 and my understanding is that they don't need um for MOTY before 1992?? Also any info or links on De catting the main Cats most helpful. Its got a cat back system on it but even though louder than standard not by much and I obviously want more V6 growl!! Cheers Rossy

  14. I able, record the sound of your BOVs and post.. Mainly for fun but lets see whos the loudest (without upping the volume on the file) Go on... Most Mobiles let you record.. Stationary prob the best, just reving up.. As my Dad used to tell me..."you can't beat a good dump" :D
  15. Anyone got pics of the Turbo XS ones fitted. I think thats what I'll go for. What are they like? Say loudest around so wanna know what two sound like. Infact...I'll start a thread on Sound files (wav, mp3 etc of differant BOV sounds) top idea!
  16. As the origanal recerc valves leek i.e. let air through. When you fit BOV and block off the recerc pipe air that was leeking on the engine side of the MAF is now being drawn through it..etc Can someone explain it to me. For example. If you temp covert the recercs to bovs i.e. pull pipe off and block it works but engine runs like a pipe of poo poo. Why coz of the above? Well no, with the standard recercs theres still air leeking through, so less air gets to the engine coz now it goes to atmosphere... I think I know what I'm talking about... Just that like most I do like the granny scare whoost and with the induction kit the 'goose honk' started to get on mi tits...a lot. Even get it to stay on at right revs, so sounds like a weak horn on perminantly. I fancy the Turbo XS...check it out, hold the current record for being the loudest!   17. I made my own and the neadles come off. You have to put them back on when... Engine warm so you can get the temp needle possition right. Full tank of fuel fo same reason (Those that can afford it) Ignition on to put boost needle to 0, if have TT. Engine running to put rev needle on, very carefuly! The hardest is of course the speedo.. I put the needle back on with it just resting on the black stopper..seems fine but will do a speed test with the missus in the Honda to check.. IF anyone wants to see picks, let us know. Granted not perfecto, but what do you want for nowt. Used, scanner to scan in original dials. Paint shop pro to make 2 colours and then make negative image. Make neater (zoon in to sort out bad edges and get rid of dots etc) Added my own colours i.e. Temp H red Temp C blue. Turbo fan blades Red, Rev counter Green to Red not just red on the red line bit. Printed out on Photo paper high qual. Roll of that clear sticky back stuff (Like wallpaper sellotape) over the front. Then cut to shape. All put back. The only downside (which I hope to sort out 2nite) is that the old speedo number shine through, but only the speedo. :dance:

Loved till a stolen sierra ran into me. 2nd Cav 1.6 4 speed Saloon..blow engine but went like stink after I rebuilt it. 3rd Astra SRi pile of poo, but who cared twoz my 1st company car. 4th Rover 416gsi loved it and 2nd company car. 5th Granada Scorpio...so so 3rd Co. Car. 6th Wait for it....Citroen BX 1.9 Deseil. Utter crap..1st co car in new job... 7th Cav 1.7 CD TDi, better than the BX....but only coz it had a turbo. 1st car with ABS and ended up lenth ways accross a road after comming down a cobbled street to the T junc. Pooed my pants. 8th VW Pissflap estate in black too...so looked like I was driving a Hearse! When though CATS like no 2moz. 9th now we're cooking, Nissan 200sx Damson. Then gets messy coz always had 3 cars at once since. 10th VW Nova Kit Car, rebuilt. 11th BMW 320i 12th VW Transporter with Rover 3.5 V8...fun and hobbies start. 13th Porsche 911 SC 3.0 god that many around this time...can't remember. Now, still got the porsche, Honda Type V (Not R) and the Nissan 300. In that lot somwhere I also had. Sierra 4x4. Pug Mi16 405. Many co cars. Another T25 Transporter. Volvo T5 850. Sierra Saloon. BMW 323i coupe. Fyew...better stop, finger sore. Is that a record..wife thinks I should be in the Ginness Book! :dance: :dance: :dance:
