I used to put a bottle of this in my escort every now and again. It might have been my imagination but it did seem to make it idle more smoothly. Don't know if it had any real beneficial effect.

Would you put it in your zed or is it just a medicine show bottle?

Crumbs I hope it is, today I just bought a massive bottle of this stuff to try on my 200sx.

If it works well, my zed will get the same treatment.

I'm not convinced this stuff is any good, if its the £4.99 ish bottle.

The Wynns complete fuel system cleaner at £12.99 is probably the better bet from the range you get in Halfords etc.

There are better products, although not as easily available, that would make a difference. Eg Redline SI-1 or SI-2.

There is another product called Cataclean, use your search engine to locate the suppliers.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

cataclean.. lmfao.. u seen the ad on the telly with the 2 dodgy looking scousers in suits and that dickhead twat of a qvc presenter? its on some of the shopping channels, what a load of shite.

Hi Scoops,

no I've not seen that !!! (Don't watch too much TV;) )

I only suggested cataclean coz a company called Calder Racing developments who tune jap sports cars (based somewhere in Scotland) mentioned it works??

Personally I'd use the Redline product.....

......although some company called BMW list it is a standard part number:D :D :D

maybe lol:D

I used the Slick 50. It costs about £15,

Can say I really noticed the difference. Smoother, stronger and more MPH..

And a lot of smoke if you used it as a fuel adative!! That stuff goes wit thoil!

Dont put it in with the oil either, throw it away instead. Do a search on here and you will see why.

I used Hotshots - its in a orange container (from halfords) wit a full tank of decent fuel it definatly made a difference to smoother throttle responce. I was quite chuffed with it:dance:

Ref the post by Rossy,

Slick 50 do actually make a fuel additive as well. I guess that's what Chrissy P was referring to;)

I agree with Chrisdbx about the oil additive though, bad news for Zeds and other high performance cars:eek:

I bought some Redex stuff and it did actually make a difference. I think the car idles better and when it revved up it felt smoother. Well pleased- and it had 100% extra free. What a bargain.

whats the answer ? is stp injector cleaner good for zeds

i hope so ive been using it for a while seems to

work ok / i hope no adverse effects..

I doubt whether it makes a massive difference these days - most fuel now claims to have the cleaning additives included.

I have used it myself in the past and in order to make it a bit more concentrated I put a whole bottle in about 1/4 tank of fuel - not sure how much that helps, but I just felt that a few cc's in 14 gallons of fuel can't do much !

my granddad had the same attitude when pouring out his bedtime whiskey :D

snake oil - maybe if you were in some country with alcohol and old varnish in the petrol.
