I would love to buy your car, but for me it is about building the car up myself. My shell went to the scrap yard yesterday after I had stripped it, I felt sad doing mine and I had not done that much to it, so I think it would be hard for you to break yours with the amount of work you have done to it.

yep, I won't get another UK model, it will be an import next for me.

Well I have stripped off all the parts I wanted from my zed and this afternoon it was lifted onto the back of a truck and went to the scrap yard. Thought I would post some pics of the quality bodywork it had. Rear light, this had started to bubble through the paint work below the light, it is much worse inside. Rear arch Rust in the roof Even a hole in the front A pillar Loads more holes underneath in the sills, boot etc..

My shell is going to the scrap yard tomorrow morning. Stripped everything out of it I want. Engine is on a stand in the garage so I am going to start doing some work on that before looking for a new SWB shell.

I was only a registered member for the first couple of months and got so much useful info during that time I thought it was only fair to pay £20, it would have cost alot more taking it to a garage every time I had a problem to get it sorted.

It made it easy as the body had rotted away so I did'nt have to be as careful as I would if have been planning to keep the car. All good experience though, just hope its fairly easy to get back into the new shell when I eventually get one.

I did it over several days between working, took a couple of hours this morning to actually get it out, should be quicker in the future though.

Eventually managed to get my engine and gearbox out today, its the first time I have tried on a zed or any sort of car. Quite pleased with myself.:) I might take the gearbox off first next time, might be a bit easier. Once I have finished stripping the rest of the car I can start rebuilding the engine.

You can get a perspex strip from the http://www.zcentre.co.uk to just cover the back or as car.mad suggested get the full skin to cover everything.

I have ordered things from Z1 before and they have arrived in a couple of days, quicker than things I have ordered from the uk on the same day.

Just woke up and see that what a nice start to the day.

As Zx-eyes link to my previous thread, my zed has rotted away, I am amazed just how bad it is, now that I have started taking parts off I am finding rust everywhere, I took the back bumper off yesterday and found a piece of rusted metal about 30cm x 10cm just sitting on one the rear splash gaurds not attached to anything. Once I have got it stripped I will put some photos up to show how bad it is.
