What do you guys think of my new wheels?
Thanks for the comments guys .... It all comes down to individual taste doesn't it.

how much should a full service cost?
Do the basic stuff yourself mate. Easy to do and if you don't fancy the cambelt (which I wouldn't) get a specialist to do it. I wouldn't trust a local garage to do mine.

What do you guys think of my new wheels?
Managed to fit my new wheels today on the Z. Just wanted to post up some pics so whoever may be interested can take a look. The wheels are the Asev AS split rim and I really think they look great on the car. I had them refurbished at lepsons and I can't knock the quality at all. Cheers Chris

It is orange plastic .. thick stuff as well. You will need a good pair of snippers to cut out the plastic. Not really a job to rush as it is so easy to scratch the mirror finish, but well worth the effort. Ohh and if you use a soldering iron like I did to make a start on the orange lenses be really carefull you don't mess up the indents where the bulbs clip into the light housing. Chris

Alloy wheel refurbishment
I have managed to source one mate. How mauch would you pay for a secondhand Alt? .. just wondering if I may have been ripped off. Fixed the Hicas leak and the alternator went pear. Thought it may be the power steering pump, but tis a bearing in the alternator. One thing after another lol ...

High ideling
It isn't normal .... but fairly common I believe. It could be a idle air valve problem. It may be sticking.

Alloy wheel refurbishment
I just wanted to say that I got my ASEV AS rims back today from the refurbishers. I used Lepsons and I can't recommend them enough. They came back completely mint and the service and turnaround was fantastic. Only took a week, which isn't bad for split rims. They aren't the cheapest around but I guess you get what you pay for. So if anyone needs their wheels refurbished then give them a call. 01634 580582. Cheers Chris

sorry, didn't mean to quote 51x

polished plenum
I thought Mac got his done for around the £200 mark and that included removal and refitting. I thought that was quite a good price.

polished plenum
I am actually in the process of polishing a spare plenum I have at the moment and it is a long and messy job. If I had found someone who could do it for 80 notes then I probably would have let them do it.

how long would it take to change power steering pump and/or alternator?
I had a hicas leak that now has been fixed, however I now have this very interesting whirring noise coming from the area of the power steering pump / alternator. It can be heard in the cabin as well. I am reasonably sure that because of the leak the steering pump is going. I haven't diagnosed the exact problem yet but it sounds like it could be the pump. Does anyone know how long it would take a good mechanic to change the power steering pump? and if neccessary the alternator? Cheers Chris

Oil temperature gauge fitting
I bought a oil pressure guage off of Chris but didn't realise it came without a sensor adaptor. Chris supplied me with a greddy oil temp adaptor which was really good. I even managed to get the oil temperature guage sensor fitted into it.
