Not much left then eh Vijay! the cables to the ABS if it has it and the 4 big fixing bolts and bracket plates. Still a fait bit of weight though so best to lower it down on a trolley jack under the diff. Jeff TT

Will HICAS wobble if no fluid?
It will be fine as the gearing in the rear steering will hold it all tight assuming of course the hicas arms and outer bushes are not worn. Jeff TT

det bypass!
One of the plugs has 3 cable into it as it is an 02 sensor ignore that and check the cable colours on the twin cable connectors only, your looking for the white and black cables, they should follow through in colour to the det sensor too. If you end up having to connect it at the ecu, it is located in the passenger footwell, you earth one side of the resister and connect the other to the det sensor connection, cutting the single wire so any loom problems are irradicated. If you get stuck I can post a diagram/ photo for you. Jeff TT

det bypass!
One thing to check is the det plug and the plug to the variable valve timing solenoid are the same and can get mixed up, this often leads to a code 34 itself. Check the cable colours, you looking for a black and white wire, the white wire will not look bright white though more cream coloured. Also after fitting the resister in the "female" connector do not plug the original connector in as well as this will cause the fault if you det sensor or lead has failed. If after all this the fault is still there, then it is could be a cable fault and fitting the sensor at the ecu end will solve it for sure. Jeff TT

front crossmember
The member is welded in, new from Nissan is around £240, to swap you need to completely remove the radiator the air con condensor the electric fan the tension rod arms the upright support and the bumper of course to help get in to grind the original welds out. Oh and the new one requires painting to protect it as it comes in the normal new panel coat only. Rob

Newbie help!!!
Sounds like you have more than one issue, the noise that goes when you depress the clutch could still be the release bearing dependant on the type of noise despite the general view is if it is the release bearing it would make more noise when under load ie. when depresssed but this is not always the case and as you description states the noise is intermittent it is unlikely it is a gearbox fault. The second issue you have is noise when in 2nd and 4th gear, this almost certainly will be the rubber covers under the leather gaitor are split or not seated correctly, when in either 2nd or 4th the lever is fully back and the rubbers are opened up allowing road and transmission noise in. Remove the surround of the centre conul and check the condition and fit of the two rubber covers. Rob

still goosed...help
Oil in the exhaust could account for the smoke, but the lack of power suggests you may have other issues as well such as boost leaks or incorrect ignition timing etc. Often fitters can change parts ok, but not know how to set up the engine after, maybe a good idea is to get it checked for boost leaks and any timing errors along with a ConZult diagnostic, sure someone here may help. speedo rewire
I beg to differ groover, although changing the clock to a UK spec will not remove the top speed limit as you said, it will though read correctly in MPH, both of my zeds are imports with jap ecu and I fitted both with UK clocks and both read mph very acurately (checked against sat nav) but retain the top speed limit. Incidently the speed sensor pulse cable colour is yellow / green, but beware there are two this colour at the speedo head connector, it is the one nearest the centre of the plug. Rob
