  1. Here what the unit looks like, its the white intermittent timer unit, the green relay is for the fuel pump, they are located behind the drivers side kick panel . Jeff TT
  2. The logo was correct, the plug difference suggests the engine was from a later car, Nissan changed things like the cas unit, tps, ptu etc. as they evolved the design. Jeff
  3. If the handbrake is the problem (?) then just back it off at the lever or at the small openings in the discs id its just one wheel. If the problem is with the calipers however then its much more likely that its the pads jamming in the caliper rather than the caliper itself. Strip out the pads clean the back plate edges up clean the caliper down where the pads sit and then refit and should sort it out. Jeff TT
  4. Repeated on BBC 3 in an hour or so. Jeff TT
  5. This topic has been discussed for over 3 years in Europe, in fact many caravan clubs have it posted on their web sites warning their members as far back as 2007, in 2011 though it seems the worry has not come to anything and IF the bio fuel craze carries on there is many things to do. E10 is hygroscopic - which means that it attracts moisture from the atmosphere. If E10 is left for a while in a tank then moisture build-up may occur leading to phase separation, the first worry is internal petrol tank corrossion...nothing new there then, the classic car scene has been dealing with that for 50 +years! Is it possible for water to be drawn into the engine and possible engine damage? got to get through the filter and along the fuel rail all of which are heated by the engine! next time your Z is connected to a ConZult check out the fuel temp read out! So How DO I Fix This? Don't allow your vehicle to stand for long inactive periods of time whereby phase separation may occur, if you cannot avoid this just leave the smallest amount of fuel in you can, anyway pure E10 in your fuel tank should be changed every 2-3 weeks, mixed with other non bio fuels weakens the effects to that of normal fuel. 1)Remove metal fuel tank and fit a plastic one 2)Remove the metal fuel tank have it cleaned and sealed with one of the many internal tank coatings that are 100% resistant to ethanol 3)Fit a water separator. 4) Mix with non bio fuel 4) Fill up with super unleaded Good heads up from Paul on future fuel issues that may arise, dont worry too much, remember the outcry when lead was removed from petrol, all those thousands of cars remdererd useless as they could not run on unleaded fuel......unitil someone suggested changing the parts that are not compatible...the valves and problem sorted, all about adaption really. 7. Had a test drive a good fews years back of a petrol 300C 5.7 hemi, they were very slow movers sales wise and having been told this I showed some interest in one and a Crysler dealer some 20 miles from me send one to our workshop with a salesman for me to try even though I asked to try a hemi 6.1the test drive went bad, I loved the gangster looks and the after market front ends you can get....BUT what a disapointment inside, acres of hard non tactile plastic and some very poor switch gear, all of this could have been forgiven if the performance had been as awsome as suggested by the salesman......but it could not have disapointed me any more, the engine lacked any kind of sparkle the autobox was super slick but even the sports mode was like a bus change, I guess the weight of the car was the issue combined with a strangled engine, the 300c is based on a Mercedes bodyshell and should have some cross over parts but I dont know how they did it but they spoilt the German underpinnings, I was really sad as I did and still love the look of them. 8. That should read in SERIES . Jeff TT
  9. Yes that would be cool :D Jeff
  10. Yes I do, we did a fair amount of work on it last year that cost some serious dosh, can pull the file in the morning and give you the commplete picture, meanwhile from memory it was suspension work, steering gear work and a replacement engine. Will update this tomorrow for you. Jeff TT
  11. The cam end seals are one of those jobs where the disassembly is more than the actual job. The pictures below show how far you need to go in, good thing is you do not need any special tools with maybe the exception of the crank pulley puller. Jeff TT

  13. Email scams seem to have taken a real upturn lately, today 60% of the overnight e-mails were unsolicited spam, Bank account irregualities, payapl suspended etc. etc. however the one below is a new one on me. Jeff From: jason Date: 06/08/11 02:57:52 To: sales Subject: Re: zedworld(To CEO) Dear CEO, Sorry to trouble you! We are a professional organization mainly engaged in Internet intellectual property management in Asia. Currently, we have a pretty important issue needing to confirm with your company. On Jun, 7, 2011, we received an application formally. One company named "Skeen Holdings Ltd" wanted to apply for some domain names about the keyword "zedworld" from our organization. Now we are handling with the registration of these domain names. When we checking their application, we found the keyword of these domain names are identical with your company's. So, I want to confirm with you: Have you consigned Skeen Holdings Ltd. to register those domains? Or are they your subbranch? We haven't finished the registration of Skeen Holdings Ltd. yet, and we have postponed this application of this company temporarily already. In order to deal with this issue better, please contact us by telephone or email as soon as possible. Waiting for your reply ASAP. 14. If you mean the wheel stud as below, then they are only a few quid each and are easy to knock out and pull a new one through using washers and the wheel nut, if you mean the lower arm ball joint, then they can also be changed individially too, just held in by a snap ring. Jeff TT
  15. As above really anyone have contact details for Car mad styling cannot pm him as his subscription must of run out. Jeff TT
  16. 147 views with 15 replies ? threads like this can be confusing when decent tech threads get ignored. Jeff TT
  17. Running rich is not the best way to look at this problem, best to think of it as incorrect or incomplete fuel burning that way when it is suggested that poor ignition timing could be a cause it makes more sense or a blocked air filter, poor afm output, and the main culprit bad connection at the temps sensor it illustrates how far reaching the issue can be, and of course it can sometimes be a combination of all of them, 02 sensors in the main on our age of cars are for corrective fuel trimming not for full fuel calculation. Often a bad 02 sensor is best unpluged as its often corrupted signal will cause more problems than it does unplugged, we see many zeds running just fine and MOT passes are fine with these unplugged. 18. How are you getting to the paypal screen? not via a link in an email I hope? try entering the correct paypal webby into your start / run box and see if you get to the main paypal website, log in from there and then see what happens. Jeff TT

  20. You sure you did not mix the rubber pipes up at the tank? Jeff TT
  21. Ian why the hell would you contaminate the oil filter / seal this way when your changing the oil with fresh oil? To clear it up then, smear the rubber seal of the filter with "new " oil NEVER dip the end of the filter in the old oil, also half fill it with new oil. Jeff TT
  22. This is what you should have with the turbo timer and this should fit in line with the ignition switch connector. Jeff TT If not ebay has them http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLITZ-TURBO-TIMER-HARNESS-NISSAN-300ZX-/280598017447?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4154f1f5a7
