  1. Huge thanks to all of the comments and supportive words, its been so nice to see how many of you know Libby and understand our feelings of loss. We are actually on a family holiday in Scotland ( no snow here?) and the all of our family and closest friends are here too, the family support programme has well and truely kicked in, with an extra special thanks to our dear friends Lisa and Si. We took Libby to a local vet yesterday and they were brilliant with us showing clear compassion but also getting the job in hand done, on our return Si and Lisa had been to a local photo studio and had a picture of libby printed and framed! was a super gift from super friends who know us well. Libby is to be reunited with us late next week where we will place her remains in a corner of the garden so we can feel close to her, Cassie our lab is a bit lost and getting tons of extra fuss at the moment but she will adapt much the same as we will in time I guess. So thank you all for the comments and any more that may get added it really does help. Jeff and family
  2. Today we said a hard good bye to one of our best friends “Libby “and family member for 12 years. To the many, many hundreds of customers who have been welcomed by her when arriving at Zedworld will know what a cool dog she was. I understand that non dog/pet owners may consider the passing of a pet as less than important but to those who do and have lost mans best friend will understand how we all feel. and degree of loss. Libby has not been well for the past 5 months having undergone major surgery to remove her spleen she had rallied back to almost full health again, until a few weeks ago she again fell ill, the vets gave us every indication they could give her some more pain free life albeit of unknown length. Yesterday was a bizarre day with wall to wall sunshine, she spent the day running and chasing the ball barking and playing with our lab “Cassie” who Libby treated as her own puppy for the last 7 years, she really seemed invigorated and full of life even posing for a mass of pictures we took two of which are below. After returning from an evening out at a restaurant with family (22 of us!!) we came back to a very different and clearly poorly Libby, what followed was a very long night spent on the floor with her until at 6:40 am she took her final breath and passed on, the whole family was awoken and joined us down stairs to say bye to her, truly devastating for us all from the youngest members at 14 to the oldie`s late 50s. We will never forget our Libby and hope all of our customers who have enjoyed her company whilst waiting for their zed will agree she was super friend to us all. Run Libby our friend and be free Jeff, Lynda , Jamie and Cassie
  3. Yes had it 6 years, so good just cannot part with it, will grab some more pics, and post them. Jeff TT
  4. No My 540i/6 as below, mostly Mtech equiped including the M5 gearbox, but the 4.4V8 instead of the 5litre V8.
  5. Starter motor solenoid and ECU start feed Jeff TT
  6. The joy of modern V8 techonology, having run a V8 Rover 3500se in my "younger" days and the gas guzzling antics, with a steering issue wanting to pull left at every petrol station its maddness how engines are so much better now. On a quiet bit of PRIVATE road a quick snap of my dash shows the rev counter just a tad under the 2,500rpm and the petrol mpg meter on the bottom right a tad over 30mpg...crazy, yes I was in 6th gear but a squirt of the pedal and she pulls like a train 6th gear or not, working out the revs per mph if the 150mph rev limiter was removed  and if you could pull enough air, in the top speed would be impressive.. Jeff
  7. Seen an unusual increase in thiS very problem, in fact at the workshop we had a customer call in last week who garages his zed over winter and when he came to get ot out last week all three panels at the back had gone real bad, so this was inside, not a heated garage but still out of the direct elements...bizzare, must be temperture change, have noticed on my 5 year old 99 spec lights a couple of small marks that could be the start of it......hope not ! Jeff TT
  8. You are getting exceptional well knowledgable young man!! the hole the clevis pin goes through does in fact enlarge over time and this cannot be taken in to account for when setting the clutch travel arm settings as the wear is both forward and backwards. Later zeds were fitted with an insert to prevent this, however the only real effective measure other than a new pedal arm is to remove the arm, weld the hole closed and redrill it, the insert is available when I last checked so preventing it happening again. Jeff TT
  9. Yes Jamie had to work hard to resolve many of the threads that the chroming process had effected as well as leveling the lower face to seal onto the engine, however all worked out. Jeff
  10. Well nice cherry red fluid and lots of it, its clear though that the strainer is blocked hence the noise and lack of drive, speculation at the moment is the brake band drum had some surface rust caused by condensation inside of the autobox and this caused some of the band linning to rip away when I started the engine and eventually found its way to the strainer, I have loved my autobox but time to go as they say......the gearbox not the zed! Jeff
  11. Stop that right now or I will be forced to go hunting on ebay!! Jeff
  12. Thanks guys, parked my car up in the double garage in December for a nice rest and keep warm, 3 months later get it out and bizzare but the auto box which has worked with out any faults during my 10 years ownership was whining and not at all happy delivering any decent drive!! never mind I have a new gearbox with 5 gears and a third pedal waiting at the workshop, what a stroke of luck the white breaker I bought a few weeks ago has a well quiet and slick box...so its official Jeff TT is going manual!!!!! oh any tips or advice welcome. Jeff TT
  13. The accessory relay on the back of the fuse box could still be a problem even without any water ingress, seen a steady rise in these failing, the switching for the relay coil comes direct from the ignition switch, worth a check there also. Jeff TT
  14. Thank you for clearing that up, maybe a little more care was required, take years to build a rep and 5 mins to loose it and with the current high level of bad deals going on between members on this forum there is no way I would let it appear to be me, and despite saying that some still seemed to think it was. Bloody fuming I was this morning when I read the thread !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff TT

    Yummy!!
  16. Eh? its not a trader here as far as I am aware. Jeff TT
  17. For everyone`s information his thread about a clutch unit sale gone wrong is not about ZEDWORLD as assumed by some but most likely about a company of similar name (?), we do not source our clutches from the US we do not charge import tax, we do not take 3 weeks to supply parts and we do not text customers with excuses! I did place some pictures of of clutch units in his previous thread and I think this is where the mistake has been made, we are not in any way part of this deal, if we had of been he would of had free delivery as he lives close to Jamie. 18. Did you find what the steering wobble was then? On a series note that could have ended in a nasty blow out, thank fully found before that happened! Jeff TT
  19. Question? if its so cool a place why do they all come here? Jeff TT
  20. Top convertable you have there, was a pleasure to work on. Jeff
  21. Non turbo clutch units such as the ones below are easy on the the leg and good for any power mods, in fact we use these for where a non turbo box is used in a TT zed. Jeff TT
  22. A few pics of when I changed a loom a few weeks back. Jeff
  23. The engine part of the loom is a case of carefully disconnecting and pealing back unit all is undone, however where the loom goes through the bulhead is a different matter, there is a bracket/ retainer that must be undone from inside and the heater/air con unit needs removing for this.
