  1. Bad connection on the engine temperature sensor, this triggers the fan to run, front of the engine two sensors fitted in the water pipe, its the larger yellow connector, unclip clean out with some WD40 or similar and refit. Jeff TT
  2. Hesitation can be caused by a few things, check list as follows (in no particular order) 1 throttle balance incorrect 2 throttle position sensor incorrecty set 3 Ignition timing retarded 4 Det sensor circuit issue ( lower performance) 5 EGR valve not closing fully ( usually intermittently) 6 Air leaks resulting in fuel mixture issues. Oil pressure fluctuation is a common problem with the gauge sender and is giving a false reading, fitting a new sender unit will solve it. The noise in the boot is the ABS unit doing a system check nothing to worry about. Having the engine checked over and set up with a diagnostic session is so much easier and you will be sure to get the best out of the engine both performance and fuel use, sure you have some close by you who are able to sort it for you inexpensively  Jeff TT
  3. Most common cause of creaking brakes is the shims need cleaning off, they have a sort of black coating that comes off and with copper slip or similar on them bits of dirts get in there and then when you appy the brakes the noise is the bits crunching up. Remove the pads and shims completely clean then and remove any loose black coating on the shims, then only apply a small amount of copper slip or similar and all should be quiet again. Jeff TT Ps dont push the pistons back without the bleed undone or it can fubar the master cylinder.
  4. If you mean these then all you need to do is with a sharp knife remove one of the lugs of your original bulb holder and it will fit in fine. Jeff TT
  5. Will send you a pm with details. Jeff TT
  6. This may help. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?132099-Water-leaks-electrical-issues-and-targas&highlight=targa+leak+fix Jeff TT
  7. Unless the solenoid gets stuck closed and then the turbos will be uncontrolled the very reason the boost solenoids should be used with an ebc, contary to popular thought I know, but it at the very least gives some protection if det occurs and also the boost controller has an easier time of it. Jeff
  8. You got this answer because you were not reading and listening to the many voices that have already been there and got the T shirt, asking for the correct advice and then questioning it in such a way that demonstrated your lack of understanding was getting pointless. Jeff
  9. Been omnipresent would be cool, the times that been said to me for each and most regions in the UK:laugh: Respect to you for keeping the faith, comitted owners like yourself and others will become the mainstay of 300 zx business as time rolls on. Jeff
  10. Absolutey spot on, Smithy was a legend in the parts supplies he dealt with, he had a great business ethic and knowledge but he also had the best of the best times customer wise, Danny had big shoes to fill when he took over the business but sadly times and trading changes resulted in Danny calling time. This is also true and what we ALL need to realise is there is a degree of responsibilty of a business`s customers to support that business if they want to benefit from the traders experience and hard work and using Ebay etc. was not supportive, the very reason we stopped selling new after market parts years ago. Jeff TT
  11. Threads like this are what I deal with on a daily basis, calls from owners looking for tech answers when they already have had the wrong answer fed to them via the internet or pub talk, then you get "are you sure" bloody offensive after 15 years in the business of working on zeds !! guys your wasting you time let him blow his engine up and then he will know your all correct. Jeff
  12. Yes and very recently, however I cannot remember the exact conversation I had with someone about them, will ask Jamie in the morning his memory is 20 odd years younger than mine and tends to work better!!! Jeff TT
  13. A couple of miles out of Birmingham city centre, South side close to the Stratford road, part commercial, part domestic and a very diverse set of residents. Jeff TT
  14. Torque convertor needs undoing, there are 4 x14 mm bolts that can be accessed by removing the bracket that connects the lower part of the bell housing to the engine on the passenger side, undo each one and rotate the engine by hand via the crank bolt until all are removed. Jeff TT
  15. Ok the resolution is an appology, a refund on the inspection and the offer of a new inspection whilst Vijay is in attendance of both the car and the cambelt noise and now awaiting a reply by email. ZX-TT you have a PM Jeff TT
  16. To add a little clarity here as Vijay has stated he took his zed to a specialist that specialist was us and we stand by our constant committment to give the very best level care to zeds in our workshop and feel the emails exchanged bears this out as does the hundreds of happy customers, no doubt on this rare occassion the close to 15 years of zed experience was not enough but somehow I doubt it was ever going to be. Jeff TT
  17. Yes later ones first picture, they came with different camshaft location and are NOT interchangable. Jeff TT
  18. Radiator failure apparently, telephone message when we got in, always when we have some good weather eh?? Jeff TT
  19. JeffTT replied to a post in a topic in Events - UK
Power steering pump pulley from an N/A and TT are different, are you using the n/a pump? if so you can use the n/a crank pulley to make it all line up. Jeff TT
  20. All you need is a standard steering arm, this is a service parts of the steering rack For general workshop manual on line look here http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi Steering rack pic below We can supply these parts for less than the upgrade ones and we ship internationally. Jeff TT http://www.zedworld.co.uk
  21. No grease required should almost fall all in you get the temps right. Jeff
  22. Just a little more info, we have changed scores of these and usually remove them by heating the arm with a turbo blow torch, keeping the arm hot means the new bush goes straight in, total job time per side is around 30 mins with grinding the face of the hub bushes off. That said sooo much easier when its on a 2 post ramp and standing up with air chisels, grinders, and air gins at hand, well done for your efforts. Jeff TT
  23. Leave the hub bush in the freezer over night and warm the arm before fitting the new hub bush, they should drop in no problem and once the arms cool down and the bushes warm up they will be a tight fit. Jeff TT
  24. Ok cleared and ready to go! Jeff
