Stats for each month
Thanks guys. The car has been garaged for the last eight or so years. Never got round to getting it resprayed or doing really anything with it. Will need to do get work done on it again when I move home. Been away for 5 1/2 years. Might be able to make it to the event in Gaydon on the 14th of July, so may see you both there!

Soldering a clock cluster
Hell I can't believe it is approaching two years since I purchased those clocks and never did any soldering on them. Groover if you read this, and you are willing, I'll pay you extra and get you to do the soldering with the LED's. Are you willing? Please say  I'm going to use the ZED this summer. It bordering on criminal that I haven't done any more than a couple of hundred miles since I bought it a few years back.

Tulip?
Hi Trish, we havent spoke in a while. Glad you are doing well. Oh and hi guys, havent been around here in a bit either. Summer is coming, i have a contract for the next 12 months based from home which means that the zed will get some action this summer. It wouldnt have done 400 miles since i got it. You would never know Gary, if one of the horses runs in Downpatrick or Down Royal this summer I just may head up in the zed!! Not too far away from you then.

Could be appropriate for a filly/mare but she'd have to be real good first.

Members List?
Thanks lads, yeah got a new battery last autumn (and stored it inside during the cold weather) so she'll be motoring very soon. I have been concentrating more on a different horse power over the last while. I built a small gallop and redid some boxes for my point to pointers. I have started training my own and believe it or not, one of them won first time out for me in Cork. Jesus boys, you think maintaining a zed is expensive - at times I'd swear it is nothing compared to these things. Anyways I was thinking a naming one of them "code 55", but then I decided against it, cause it would be tempting faith

Twinzdesign Peru rear in black
I'd agree Daz. I have to say I might be biased in that I'd consider him a friend on this site. When I spoke about heading over to a meet in the Somerset area, both he and Murt volunteered to collect me from the airport. Simon collected me from an agreed meeting point brought me to the meeting and Murt brought me back to the airport after showing me around the lovely Avon and Somerset areas. Simon apologised about not being able to bring me back as it was Fathers Day and he had to do some visiting. IMHO he is a good guy who most certainly extended good club spirit to me. That is true.

Best original Z32 TT?
Actually PhilP you are spot on. I got carried away. Its just that everything that is done, feels like it is just the way it was meant to be, if you know what I mean...

Looking forward to seeing the finished article.. I think I may be getting as excited as yourself

Best original Z32 TT?
Funkysi definitely has the best one.:punk: Any body mods are very subtle but tastefully done. Jimmer may have done some engine work, and I know it sounded sweet. I was in that car earlier this year when I flew into Bristol for a meet organised by Murt and it is in absolute pristine condition. I love that car!!

fresh from the body shop with some other photo updates
Paint looks great.:thumbup1: I'd prefer it to have no spoiler than a high level one, but if cash permitted I think the 99spec one would finish it off.

was going to sell up and go german
I have the 4.6is X5 fully loaded (tv's, dvd, phone, etc etc..) and this is an absolute animal. It has the BMW V8 engine tuned by M Gmbh, with the specification of an M car. Only thing is they didn't badge it as M, as they believed they should have retained the M badge for the drivers car and not expand the range to a SUV at that point. It has immense power and acceleration through the rev range, great road holding and fantastic braking. It actually brakes like a supercar. Thirsty yes, but would still do 21-22 on a long journey if cruising. Floor it and it drinks juice. If you are prepared to buy a petrol X5 with a V8 go for this same 4.6is model or the newer 4.8is. Subtle differences in styling, wheels, wheel arches make them a vehicle with far more presence that the standard X5 and a totally different vehicle to drive in comparison to the 3.0d. I had one for a few weeks and it nearly put me off the X5's. I did not like it at all! At the time it gave me the feeling of a vehicle whose reputation far exceeded its capability and definitely never fitted in with company's killer rap for their vehicles as being the ultimate driving machines. A word of warning with the X5 V8 - the torque converter can disintegrate with the power of the V8 and this can lead to an expensive gearbox rebuild! Luckily mine was covered under warranty, which meant I didn't have to pay the €3k bill. I have the 300zx and love the car. It was the car I always wanted since I bought issue number 19 of the Encylopedia of Supercars way back in 1991. At one stage, with lack of work, tight finances etc... I was considering selling some of the vehicles. At no stage did I consider selling the Zed. Good luck with whichever model you eventually decide to go with.

Pics of progress!
Looking very good. I do like blue.

Name whats wrong with your car at the mo
Drivers side window won't work and I replaced the window regulator so its not that. Heater Matrix to be fitted. Occassional issue with front indicator in that it doesn't work from time to time. I cleaned the bulb holder to give a good earth but it didn't rectify the issue.Must be a loose cable somewhere, and I think it may be under the wheel arch, as when I went at the side indicator lights to check for the connections to replace the carrots with the clear lenses, the problem has started to happen less frequently.

Bumper build and lessons learned..pic heavy.
Well done. You did a great job there

600zx - Finally back to work....
Those pushrods will never fit in that zed of yours :hammer: Way too big! Jokes aside, I have to take my hat of to you with the work and effort you are putting into the V8. Its a fantastic project and I love following it. From the looks of it, it won't be long now.....

Soldering a clock cluster
I bought a clock cluster set from a member on here and unfortunately the speedo doesn't work. It was taken from a scrapper/doner car. All the other guages work perfectly. I did a search here and most suggest resoldering the dry contacts. As I know nothing about the circuits and contacts on the back of the clock, what type of professional should I bring it to check the contacts and do whatever soldering that is required. Its a 300kph clock and I'd hate to bin it as I was looking for one for quite a while. In fact it was my plan to get the white Led's done on this, with the Pod's etc over the winter with Groover (if the service will be still offered then). Also has anybody any other suggestions.

No parks, dips, illumination of clock clusters or rear lights - which fuse?
Yes Gary - thanks for the pointer.

No parks, dips, illumination of clock clusters or rear lights - which fuse?
As Car Mad suggested in the link posted by Gary, it was the fuse in the drivers side footwell - top row, third from the left & 10amp. Sideshowbob - I think that we are talking about the same fuse in the footwell.
