  1. Yup - Jimmer is the ZX-pert....!
  2. Welcome back Marco - you've not missed much mate.... We've just been killing time until you returned.....? Richard?
  3. ....And still the damn photos won't upload the right way up.....LOL!!!
  4. Oh, and I also added a pair of "Z" branded B-pillar screw covers!!
  5. After the thread on Z-Spec vs Interior Innovations double-DIN radio bezels, I decided to take a punt and order the Z-spec version to replace my existing one..... I fitted it over the weekend - and have to say, it is very good indeed! The brackets are still rubbish though - they don't hold my Kenwood head unit in place as well as the Nissan OEM ones. I also ordered a "300zx" etched clock blanking plate.... My clock gains a minute every couple of weeks, leaving the time out of sync with the radio display. My ODC finally got the better of me, so I can no longer be bothered to adjust it?
  6. Just to update everyone - I bought the Z-spec one and fitted it last weekend...... It is indeed better than the interior innovations offering - which I will sell if anyone wants it ?
  7. Many happy returns mate - have a great day!! Richard?
  8. Yup - sounds like the auto box is on its way out - that's how the symptoms started in my old red Zed.... The box will need a full rebuild (circa £1200 at an auto-box specialist) - or budget for a manual conversion. Which, being an NA, I'd get done - NA autos are dreadfully slow!
  9. I remember this car too - I have seen it a few times at various shows over the years!
  10. Many happy returns gentlemen - have a great day!!
  11. Happy 70th Arthur - hope you had a great day sir!! Richard?
  12. I agree - with most of these cars being the thick end of 30 years old now, mileage is of no consequence. Sure if there is history and old MOTs to corroborate a car's mileage, that's a great selling point. But even a verified low mileage is inconsequential if the body work is rotten, or the engine is on its last legs.
  13. Yup - Jimmer is the UK's (and indeed Europe's) 300zx-pert.
  14. Another former prominent member's birthday today..... ......So many happy returns Andy; have a great day mate, hope all's well...!! Richard?
  15. ....And thank you for your support Paul - most appreciated!
  16. Many happy returns Allan - I know you haven't visited these pages for a while - but you never know.....?
  17. It's not been used much..... Checking the MOT history, it had done no miles at all between tests in Nov'06 and Apr'08... Was it trailered to the garage? Must have been, otherwise it would have covered at least a mile! Then it covered between 5 and 10 miles between tests thereafter - even with virtually a 9 year gap between it's latest MOT in Feb this year and the previous one in Apr'12. NISSAN 300 ZX - Check MOT history (check-mot.service.gov.uk) I'm not suggesting it's a puppy, but 5 miles in 9 years means that car is in serious need of a thorough recommissioning. All belts, fluids, the works - unless there is documented evidence that it has been done properly. Z test.pdf
  18. Hi and welcome to the club Paul...! Nice late model UK car you have there - so congratulations on your new acquisition...... It's definitely one worth saving for sure - and you'll find all the help you need here. First tip I will give you, is to get the car to Jimmer at Powerzed, in Bristol. Jim is the UK's 300zx guru, and is trusted by pretty much all of us here!
  19. We have to reapply for a stand each year, regardless of being there in previous years. I duly applied back in the spring, however the planners are taking a bit longer to announce the participants this year. Our application is still being considered - and I dropped the organisers an e-mail asking for an update earlier today.
  20. I find that if I leave the car for a couple of weeks, with the alarm armed, then the battery will drain. If I don't arm the alarm, the battery stays charged..... The Zed is safely locked in my garage though, and since the alarm is cat 1, the engine remains immobilised.
  21. Welcome back indeed mate - and thank you for your support too......?
  22. As committee members, mine - and Gary's - primary objective is to do what's best for the club, come what may. We endeavour to do our best, but like anything, we cannot please everybody, all of the time. Your primary objective, Alex_ GT (or who ever you may be behind that keyboard), from what I see in all your posts, is to spread negativity in every which way you can. If you have anything constructive to say, both in the interest of the Z32 or, perhaps, some ideas on how we can improve the club for all our members, please do let us know. But if not - and it pains me to say this - you pays your money (or not, in your case) you takes your choice, so if you don't like it here, you know where the door is?
  23. Hi folks, There is a classic car not too far from me in the Chilterns, on Sunday 29th August - the next Bank Holiday weekend. Classics on the Crick - Charity Car Show I plan on attending myself - however if anyone else is interested, I can reserve a place for a club stand. Entries Cars & Commercials - Classics on the Crick Naphill is near High Wycombe in Bucks - about 10 minutes from M40 j4 Who's up for it.....?
  24. 25. Indeed - shame I didn't make it this year...... This is one of the best events, so here's to next year and having a proper club presence in 2022?
