  1. My thoughts too. Chrome lights only look good on black cars but there's nothing wrong with stock. And as your's are new I'd leave them alone! Richard:)
  2. My thoughts too. Subtle things like wheels, 99-spec rear lights and if you want to spend a bit extra, a 99-spec front bumper. Oh and the clear side repeaters are a must! Richard:cool:
  3. That's not bad mate...... ......nice, easy and cheap way to tidy up that panel if it's looking a bit old and scuffed. Richard:)

It will never work...... ......I mean if you are going to buy a brand new car; when the dealer has to give you £2k for a clapped out old Escort worth £150 against (say) a new Focus, you're not going to get much (or any) of a discount on the Focus are you? In that case reckon you'd be better off scrapping the old Escort and negotiating a bigger discount off the Focus;) Stupid short sighted Government. There are enough problems with the whole economy going down the crapper and all they are worried about are a few CO2 emissions:xxx: Richard:(
  5. I proposed to Julia in Paris........ ........earlier that day whilst window shopping on the Champs Elysees, she spotted a discreet white gold solitaire ring in a jewellers and commented on how "one day" that would be her ideal ring. Well imagine my relief when I realized it was identical to the one in my jacket pocket that I'd bought in the UK a few days before the trip:rofl: Needless to say she said yes.......... Go for it Si - I hope you are both happy together mate! Richard:)
  6. Sure is - I played their "Best of" cd in the car a few weeks back and I'd forgotten how good they were:bow: Richard:)
  7. Ha ha ha - forgot about that:rofl:
  8. A 57 plate would be the new V8 one wouldn't it? If so they are damn quick.......... ......still a BMW though;) Richard:D
  9. So true......although here it has been warm enough to wear a T-shirt for the last few days;) I also hate vests - I mean who told men that the vest is a good look; IT ISN'T!!! Richard:slap:
  10. Yup; and happy one to you all from me as well:bow: Richard:hyper:
  11. If you have a spare key at home and a remote control alarm that works the locking, use your mobile phone...... ......seriously; use your mobile to call someone at your house ON THEIR MOBILE PHONE, then get them to point the remote at their phone and blip it whilst pointing your mobile at the car;) Richard:D
  12. I'm sorry to say I agree with that - be more careful in future. Hopefully you may get lucky and get sent on a speed awareness course instead of receiving points. Currently the white "speed marker" lines are only legally required on dual carriageways or where there are 2 adjacent lanes travelling in the same direction. This is to differentiate you from a car in the next lane thus determine which one of you triggered the camera. On a single carriageway the marker lines are not required as there is no doubt which car tripped the flash;) Richard
  13. 20mph outside schools is good - but it should be variable; IE weekends, holidays and "out of hours" back to 30mph. 20mph in normal urban areas is just daft; modern cars with ABS etc can stop far quicker than 75 feet from 30mph. I don't agree with reducing national speed limit from 60 to 50 on single carriageway roads at all. I heard one car hater say that most people drive along our rural A roads at 50 anyway so there will be no difference. Rubbish - most normal non-Rover/Honda drivers younger than 80 will safely drive at 60-70mph and overtake the slower folk. Thing is, those people who do drive along safe clear A-roads at 50 now will no doubt slow down to 40 if the limit is reduced. I have lost count of thetimes I've come up behind someone doing 50 on a clear dry straight 60mph road; then when there is a short stretch with a 50 limit, the twat slows to 40. Why??? These annoying people who "think" they are safe drivers will always drive 10mph under any limit - they sit in lane 2 of a motorway at 60 when there's nothing else around!! No; let's give RESPONSIBLE drivers more credit and allow them to chose their own safe speed on national limit roads. Reducing limits unnecessarily just causes frustration and will no doubt contribute to accidents elsewhere; ie when drivers held up on open A-roads speed up to 40 through villages to make up for lost time. Bloody nannying anti-car anti-freedom state. Vote the b@stards out!!! Richard:(
  14. And that's why I love this club:tongue: Cheers buddy:hyper: Richard:)
  15. Welcome to the club mate:) And 112k miles is not really high - especially for a UK spec and even more especially if it's genuine! Remember these are 15 or more year old cars so 112k is not at all bad. Richard:)
  16. Well I had to co-ordinate with the ZX;)
  17. I was thinking that too - they really suit the car:hyper: Nice looking Z by the way......... Richard:cool:
  18. Pics???? This thread is useless without pics:slap: Richard:rofl:
  19. Cheers guys...... ......And I took your advice Matt - just made a lamb passanda and washed it down with a few ice cold Cobras:D Richard:)
  20. Never mind; I hope you got a good price for it. And hopefully you'll return to the world of zedding in the not too distant future. I have thought about selling mine recently as well; but I would only go and buy another so I decided to keep the one I have......:nelson: ATB Richard:cool:
  21. Looking good there mate.........:D ........I reckon everyone was cleaning their cars today!!! Richard:)
  22. Looks good mate........ Richard:)
  23. Today I have been mostly cleaning and polishing...... .......but not the ZX (that's still clean and dry in my garage). I did the Rav with silver Colour Magic followed my Meguair's Gold Class and I'm dead pleased with the result. It looks better than when I bought it in 2006;) In fact it hides the scratches very well; where Julia sometimes drives too close to the banks on country lanes:mac1: Did the SLK with Super Resin Polish followed by Turtle Wax Ice. Now I'm tired and hungry. And it's bound to rain after all that effort........;) Richard:cool: PS only used 2 mega-pixel camera phone!
  24. Looks good mate - I love a nice stock UK spec car; especially in red!!! Richard:cool:
  25. Especially the end bit:bow: Richard:cool:
