HICAS and Steering Wheels
Exactly what he said..... ......plus you also need to make sure the 'wheel is properly centred on "straight ahead" Not necessarily - unless it specifies that it works with the HICAS then don't believe it. IIRC MIke at MJP sells the proper boss. Richard:)

First new Z pics......
Hey Si, You're more than welcome mate!! We're down there next on September 5th for a week. And I do intend to take the Z; so if you're around on either 5th or 12th we could take a detour off the M5! Richard:cool:

First new Z pics......
I will do Si - once I've fitted my 99-spec lights and had the small paintwork issues sorted; then I'll upload some decent photos in the appropriate section.... .....Oh and after I've given it a wash and polish..... Richard:)

Cheers Pete. The paperwork went out 1st class today so you should get it tomorrow....:hyper: And it's the same reg as mine too - you must be a man of good taste.....:p Thanks Dave - I'm really pleased with the wheels. Thanks for sorting the delivery etc; they were nicely packed and arrived promptly as well:bow: Richard:cool:

First new Z pics......
Heh heh heh - cheers buddy:rofl: I reckon that red is still the best colour for a 300zx - and I do still miss the old one:tongue: But I'm getting to grips with the new one now; and the ribs aren't too bad, suprisingly, after heaving around the jack/wheelbrace/wheels.... Richard:)

First new Z pics......
Well it's been almost 3 weeks since I bought PhilP's blue UK spec car. Today I have been doing a few bits; like...... Fitting some Mania Vortex wheels - Thanks Dave (EvoluZion3) Removing the "carrots" and replacing them with some clear side repeaters Removing the orange from the indicators (I got it right this time;)) - and a big thanks to JeffTT for the replacement following my daft moment on Sunday:wack: Fitting my numberplate now that DVLA has completed the transfer. I still need to fit my new 99-spec rears, have the a/c fixed (new condenser needed) and get it in the body-shop to have the driver's door and n/s rear wing sprayed. Oh yes, and clean it!!! Here are some pics so far - they were taken on my phone so apologies for the quality...... Richard:hyper:

Door handle question......
Thanks for that Jeff - you've already helped me out with the indicator so I don't want to impose again....... ......I'll try the WD40 thing first and if that doesn't work I'll let you know! Thanks again!! Richard:smw:

Door handle question......

Door handle question......
Hi all, Is the little metal disc with the key-hole a part of the door lock barrel or door handle? My driver's side one is devoid of the little "flap" that closes the key-slot and, being a perfectionist, I want to replace it. Do I need a new lock or a new door handle? Thanks Richard:cool:

Rotten battery tray replacement
Nice thread Jeff...... .....Helpful as ever  Richard:cool:

auto tiptronic audis
A decent auto box in a powerful car should be better than a manual; Mercedes and BMW (with the biggeer engines) always quote faster acceleration figures for their autos with tiptronic over the same spec manuals. Not sure about Audi though - I know that the DSG 'box in "lesser" models has a flat spot and is slower than a manual. Although with the "RS" spec models the autos are most likely faster.... I need Temporary insurance cover 28 days??
Most companies should if you already have a policy with them. I'm with Lynbrooks for my 300zx; I have recently bought another ZX and transferred the policy over to the new car. However until I sold the old one, I wanted that insured also - just in case something happened to it or if I wanted to take a potential buyer on a test drive. So they covered the old car as an additional temporary vehicle for 14 days (although that was extendable) for only £25. Richard:cool:

clear fog lights
Nah - that'll never happen........:o Richard:rofl:

Clumsy eejit part II
Whilst they are different, you can buy the complete fog light as opposed to just the lense. Then the back part of the UK spec indicator unbolts (3 10mm retaining nuts reached by removing the corner light unit); you remove that and bolt in the complete fog light;) See I got that bit right:o Richard:smw:
