I love my new Z
Cheers Phil, Almost finished.... .....just got the small paintwork bits to sort now; the driver's door and the bit under the fuel cap. Then perhaps a light blow over for the tiny bits on the front bumper! I will book in into the bodyshop in the next couple of weeks - whilst the weather's been good I've wanted to drive it.....:p As you know, there's nothing else it needs (although I am buying my old exhaust back from Pete;)) It's a fine Z mate and I'm very pleased I bought it. The only downside was the twat who fitted the new tyres - he damaged the sill under the driver's door by careless jacking. I am trying to get the tyre place to foot the bill; but I may need to ask for your confirmation it was not creased at the time of sale:x: Richard:cool:

I love my new Z
D'oh; sorry buddy:o Missed you again Si. And I really want to see your Z as well.... ....still we're often heading heading west; I'll give you a call next time we are coming down. This was a last minute thing though - 8am decision Sunday morning; Z waiting patiently in the garage etc..... Richard:cool:

I love my new Z
As title says...... .......Julia and I took ZX number two for a blast down the M4 yesterday as we fancied a day out in Bath. I am very pleased with the car and it performed faultlessly; eating up the miles (very) swiftly with ease. It also used less than 3/4 of a tank of fuel for the 218 mile round trip - an achievement considering I wasn't hanging around either. Especially as the M4 was empty on the way there...:p I like it more with every trip and I reckon it's definitely a worthy replacement for my old Z Richard:cool:

Route of cars to getting the Z
Not in this country, then  I remember having to send the DVLA my original birth certificate when I applied for my provisional licence!!! I take it you have also designed and built a fantastically large abode in order to store your 18 cars..... Or do you piss off all of your neighbours by parking them all along a road of terraced houses in Slough:D Richard:rofl:

Warning - dont park in a bus stop
In my experience most (but not all - if there are any on here) bus drivers are fooking arrogant, mental drivers. Look at the first bus driver - he couldn't give a toss that in order to pass the 2 stationary buses, he had to encroach on the opposite carriageway; with scant regard for the silver VW who had right of way:xxx: There's a road I drive along each day to work that has those stupid pinch points and speed humps; which also happens to be a bus route. For 4 out of 5 of those single file sections I have right of way - yet every single time a bus is coming the other way, the drivers just drive on regardless forcing me to brake at the last minute. Tossers, all of them:xxx: Only Wednesday one almost took the front of my SLK out as he drove at me - then had the fooking cheek to expect me to reverse out of his way. I just switched off the engine and told him to back off himself - with the threat that if he hit my car, I would make sure he lost his teeth as well as his job!!! Porsche driver deserved it though - fooking daft place to park:rofl: Richard:D

Making my blood boil!
What a fekking joke....... Road tax and insurance should be applied to road users; and not just for vehicle ownership. Why should you be forced by law to pay for tax and insurance on a vehicle that is off the road long term; resting on your own private land, whilst you are not using it and have no intention to do so. I know you have not mentioned road tax yet - but that will be the next thing..... The sooner this government gets its marching orders the better. What a great country we live in:mac1: Richard:cry:

Is inner-city Britain the worst place on earth to live?
I grew up in the East End of London in the 1970s and it was fine then. In fact I loved my childhood there. Sure, it became a bit rough during the 1980s but I believe it gave me the "life experience" that contributed (positively) to some of the skills I posess today. However it got progressively worse throughout the late 1980s and 1990s and now I'm pleased to have moved on to a more "sheltered life" in rural Buckinghamshire. My folks still live in Leyton today - heaven knows why - and it's a complete shite-hole. Whilst I like to go and visit my parents, I absolutely hate the area now and, once outside the (perceived) safety of my family's home, I cannot get out of London fast enough. Richard:)

Want to repaint my Z. A grand master plan or just a pipe dream....not decided yet
That's my thought as well. And forget the side skirts too; the car looks best without them IMO. As for the front I like the 99-spec best of all; but I do like the Stillen extension you posted earlier - I reckon I'd do that;) Your's is one of my all time favourite ZXs; leave it alone!!! Richard:)

Can I put 16" 8.5J's on the front as well?
Cheers buddy - reply sent! As for your question, I don't know but I'll do the nerdy maths to see what the diameters/circumferences for comparison are: Stock front: 225/50/16 = 225mm x 50% = 112.5mm = 4.429 inches. 16+(2x4.429) = 24.85 inches ground to top of wheel. Rolling circumference = Pi (3.14159) x 24.85 = 78.09 inches Stock rear: 245/45/16 = 245mm x 45% = 110.25mm = 4.34 inches. 16+(2x4.34) = 24.68 inches. Circumference therefore = 77.53 inches. Close enough to match the front. 245/50/16 = 245 x 50% = 122.5mm = 4.82 inches. 16+(2x4.82) = 25.65 inches diameter. That's almost an inch taller than standard wheels; the circumference would therefore be 80.58 inches. That's 2 to 3 inches more than the standard fittings. That's the extent of my knowledge:nelson: I don't really know what effect, if any, the extra 2-3 inches travel will make. It will definitely alter the accuracy of the speedo reading though! Richard:cool:

Hmmmm nice colour?!?!?!?
Only if they can read in the first place.......;) LOL; definitely.......
