Tempted by another.......
Thanks guys and gals..... I hope so Allan!! My black one is "only" 276bhp and that flies - I'd guess that up to 70-ish it would probably just have my ZX. Although from 70+ when the tubbies are on song, the ZX does feel like it has more than just the edge....(on a track, of course).... Richard:cool3: PS anyone interested in a nice black SLK350.........:

Tempted by another.......
.....daily drive that is!! I had (tentatively) been thinking about a new daily driver recently; and after a hectic week I took a peek at MB's "approved used" 'site yesterday. And by chance I found the one for me!! Palladium silver; 3.5 litres and 305bhp; 0-62 in 5.4 secs.... ...plus every conceivable extra including COMMAND multi-media with navigation/CD changer/DAB radio; heated nappa leather; bi-xenons; 7-speed tip with paddle-shift and the AMG sport suspension/wheel pack:drool: Plus I got 2 years free servicing, 6 months tax and an extended warranty for when the manufacturers one expires! It's miles away from me though; however a quick call to a friend of mine who is a car broker and it's very soon going to be on my drive....:tt1: ......just got to sort my cherished number transfer. I can't wait; I'm just like a child on Christmas eve!!! Richard:chef:

350Z better than a 370Z?
For looks I'm still not so sure - perhaps the 350z is (just) still more attractive. But from the reports I've read, the 370 is a very capable car even when compared to a Boxster or Cayman (both of which are excellent drivers' cars). I also reckon the 370z might have a better build quality, feel and finish. Nonetheless, the 350z is a very good car with fine handling and decent performance - plus they are a bit of a bargain now!! Both cars do suffer badly from being the wrong colour though; like the Mk4 Supra, get the wrong colour and it looks DAMN ugly...... Richard:cool2:

Rant about insurance companies
Do forgive me for asking Jane; is that a simple response or a boast (ie that you actually have sweet cheeks....)? Richard:blushing:

Rant about insurance companies
Incidentally guys and gals; Adrian Flux is a fully subbed trader on here so please remember that when posting your opinions!! Different insurers class certain risks differently from others; so sometimes a 1.4 Fiesta can be more to insure than a 3.0 300zx depending on driver combinations etc.... .....sure it doesn't always seem logical; but then if someone choses to underwrite that risk for less money then good luck to them. It's your money and ultimately your choice who you give it to, to cover your pride and joy..... Richard:oops:

Rant about insurance companies
Elephant is part of Admiral; I'm with Admiral for my daily drive and Julia's car on a multi-car policy. When I had to claim a couple of years back I have to say their service was excellent! My car was off the road for 10 weeks being repaired and they sorted me a shiney brand new Merc E320cdi during that time to blat around in! Richard:chef:

insurance and no mot car in storage
Absolutely gutted for you mate - and it's a real shame to see a ZX like that as well. I hope you get things sorted with minimum fuss too. Incidentally, as the cars didn't actually catch fire; but were damaged in an associated building fire, wouldn't the insurance for the building cover it - assuming you have cover for the barn contents as well? Just a thought..... .....and possibly one which your motor insurers may pursue to recover some of their costs if they have to pay out! Richard:sad:

A tidy original UK spec manual.....
I spotted this on Autotrader..... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201039369502171/sort/priceasc/usedcars/price-from/2000/model/300_zx/make/nissan/postcode/hp160su/page/2/radius/1501/quicksearch/true?logcode=p Looks a tidy example - albeit a bit pricey!! Who knows, maybe prices are looking up for good ones......? Richard:chef:

Norman Wisdom has died
RIP fella...... He was truly one of the last of our great and good. 95 is a fair old age though; at least he had a good innings and left a legacy that very few nowadays could live up to. He was a nice guy by all accounts too...... Richard

Take a look at this!!!!
