90 miles to half a tank. 35 quid
Yup - sounds like mine as well Mike!! I reckon on somewhere between 260 - 300 miles from a tank on average! If you have the "all clear" on a Conzult, have you considered a leaky tank or fuel pipe? Richard:chef:

Took the ZX out for a blast today....
Sorry Alan.......:crying: Any chance you'll be back in one soon mate? Exactly Dave!! Sure a long fast run makes you feel good; but then a slow cruise around town in the sun, when everyone turns their head to look at the car, really makes you feel good.... Definitely Craig! It's been a long time mate - hopefully yours will be back on the road soon...... Richard:chef:

Took the ZX out for a blast today....
As it was such a nice day, and I hadn't used the Z for 3 or so weeks, I thought it was time for a day out. We went to Stratford upon Avon for the day and I loved every minute behind the wheel. We didn't have a bad time in Stratford either, but letting the ZX do its stuff was the best bit for me. Well that and lunch!! As usual the car performed faultlessly and didn't miss a beat. It's such a great car to drive - once I get back in after not using it, I realize in seconds why I love the car.... ....so if anyone saw a shiney blue ZX whizzing past everything on the M40 today...... (it wasn't me officer......) Richard:rockon:

Tempted by another.......
Yup - it is another 350. In 2008/9 MB revamped the engines a bit; the 3.5 v6 had its power upped to 305bhp but also the economy improved and the emmissions went down..... ......so I'll not have to suffer the £405 road tax next year! The new one will only cost £215 to tax - result!! Exactly mate!! The obsidian black is a superb colour; but boy is it high maitenance. However I did find that once polished, a top coat of Turtle Wax Platinum Extra Gloss sealed in the shine and stopped all the cud from sticking to the paint for weeks. It also helped it wash up nicely without the need for a waxing too often!! I highly recommend it for black cars Dave....:punk: Richard:thumbup:

H1 130W bulbs
No idea TBH mate!! Try it and see - the lower fuse rating should remove the risk of fried wires I'd reckon; as it would blow earlier..... Richard:cool3:

Does anyone ever go in the chat room in here?
LOL - funny that.... .....and isn't Jane on there right now..... Richard:surrender:

H1 130W bulbs
I'd have thought so mate - the fuses are there to protect the circuits and prevent such disasters! At least that's what should happen....... Richard:cool2:
-
H1 130W bulbs
If they don't affect the wiring etc then go for it mate - even the 130w as they'd be brighter!! Just get a set with a nice pure white light as they look better and will prove more effective on the road! Richard:batman:

Tempted by another.......
Nice but no thanks Dave - whilst they are certainly fun, I like the comfort as well! I do like the new Z4 with the metal roof though; but Julia is not keen on me becoming a BMW driver for some reason. Plus I'd rather have the relaxed n/a V6 of the Merc compared to the twin tubby straight 6 of the Beemer. I've already got one twin turbo car, after all..... .....I did look at the Boxster a few years back; but again it's got a canvas roof and there's no room for luggage. I can get 2 decent size suitcases in the boot of the SLK - perfect for holidays if I don't take the ZX!! Richard:cool2:

H1 130W bulbs
I doubt it's worth risking your wiring/fuses TBH Dave..... ......if you have HIDs then you'll probably hardly use full beam anyway. If you do, then go for tried and tested bulbs like Osram Nightbreaker of Phillips Xtreme Power standard wattage. Richard:cool2:

Does anyone ever go in the chat room in here?
LOL - you're sure on fine form tonight matey!! I'll take your word for that Dave - I've never actually ventured in.....:whistling: Richard:cool3:

Tempted by another.......
LOL - maybe mate; but there's only two of us so I don't have any need (or desire) for a saloon car; no matter how good!! Plus I do like the occasional bit of open top motoring and TBH most "convertibles" are just that - a hard top with the roof cut off. This was purposly built as an open top; and that metal foldy thing is way better than a leaky tent.......:whistling: Richard:chef:

A tad expensive??
They look like something from the tardis!! And not at all worth the money IMO; there are plenty of reasonable LED upgrades for less than that. Plus the "Canbus" thing only affects some newer cars anyway. For £89 just get a set of HIDs and then buy some cheap upgraded sidelights to match the tint!! Richard:confused1:

Respraying my lude
Wise words Jane..... ....and my advice for Mark; leave the 'Lude as it is. It looks a tidy car from the pics and it's just not worth the money attempting a cheap respray. Plus original paint, as long as it's still in pretty good shape, is always better than resprayed! Richard:cool3:

ive betrayed you all!!
Nice going mate!! Always good to see that all the horses are still in the stable; it's a real testament to just how good these cars were right out of the box!! Richard:cool2:
