  1. LOL - I am (usually) Jane...... ....but I may have had a little too much alcohol with dinner this evening; sorry!!!....:flowers: And I only said that because you're not coming to Zedworld on the 5th so you can't get me back in person.... Richard:laugh::thumbup1:
  2. Good point Pete - sales of the 300zx in the UK really slowed up towards the end of its run over here; so I guess a lot of UK spec cars were sitting around for months waiting to be registered...... Richard:oops:
  3. Cheers buddy - I'll have to take a look then! TBH I didn't notice much difference under the bonnet between my first 1990 ZX and the latest one. I guess I could easily have overlooked the HICAS though - with so much else crammed in the engine bay! Richard:innocent::yes:
  4. Excellent! Look forward to seeing you there Scotty! Richard:cool2:
  5. Seems a lot of car for not much cash there...... .....but if you're both studying then keep an eye on those running costs! That aside, it looks a tidy example, especially considering the mileage. For that age and price, I'd not worry about re-sale value as you should be able to get most of your money back if you changed your mind! Good luck, Richard:chef:
  6. That looks a great car for the money Gary; really nice find I reckon......!! Not sure whether that spoiler identifies the age - after all it's a J-spec car with a UK spec rear bumper; so the rear end has been fettled with a bit! Also I'm confused regarding the HICAS issue - my UK spec L-reg ZX is a mid-1994 car and I think I still have the hydraulic HICAS as well...... .....how do you tell the difference? Richard:oops:
  7. No we're not!! - Being a Southpaw is just freaky Jane; your folks weren't cousins were they? LOL......:whistling::devil: In fact I'm totally useless using my left hand - I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous:1eye: But back to the plot, it's a pity you can't make it:sad: As for the car situation, if you're both studying then keep it "cheap to run." There are plenty of big luxurious bargains out there, but they're cheap to buy for a reason - and that is that the running costs will sting you. Good luck with your search - and I hope you get the Corolla sorted too:sorcerer: There might, if anyone attending happens to be selling their car! That aside though mate, if you're serious about buying a 300zx then you could do a lot worse than to meet with a lot of enthusiastic owners at the best 300zx garage this side of anywhere. You'll get a lot of good advice and get to see some of the forum member's cars in the flesh - which will give you an idea on what to look for in your own future purchase. Richard:cool3:
  8. Welcome to the club Dan!! Richard:cool3:
  9. Welcome to the club Pete! Richard:yes:
  10. LOL - and me, as mine's Feb 13th!! Shame you can't make it though Jane; does Marc not have a car? Richard:chef:
  11. In the UK I can recommend York and Bath....... .....Overseas, and if you're taking the dog, then I guess it has to be Europe and not too far; so I can recommend Bruges. The land of beer, chocolate and chips. What else do you need!! Plus the fact Bruges a lovely place to visit anyway; lots of canal side walks, nice restaurants etc etc.... Richard:cool2:
  12. Sorry to hear that Graham; my condolencies mate:flowers:
  13. Agreed - and yes, the same place! Richard:shuriken:
  14. Nice one Martin....:thumbup1: ....I also believe it's important not to let the scum get away with things like that; as they will continue to take the piss for ever. One has to make a stand for what is right; if only to stop things like this happening in future. Richard:rockon:
  15. The most depressing day of the year..... .......and a Monday at that? I guess it's appropriate to post this song link then...... Chin up everyone - it can only get better from now on in that case. Enjoy this 1980s classic..... Richard:rockon:
  16. Looks??? Whilst I can accept that maybe the E36 will outhandle a stock Z32 and the performance is too close to call, you must be blind mate! The E36 looks just like any other 3-series, which might as well look like any other 10+ year old car on the road now. The ZX still has that "rare/classic/exotica" look that the E36 just doesn't have..... .....each to their own though!! There speaks the voice of experience; he's had both the E36 Ms and a 300zx so IMO is qualified to comment accordingly! Plus Quavey is right about the Mercs. I'm a Merc fan myself and would have a new Merc over a new BMW - however the late 1990s to early 2000 Mercs did suffer from poor build quality and rust; so on a car that age I would have to go with the BMW. Yes - I buy them as fleet cars for my staff! Nice quality feel, like anything German; they do everything OK but nothing really really well - just like any other rep-mobile. Nice, reliable, solid but very dull - certainly not for me!! Richard:rockon:
  17. LOL - should have been in the left lane then mate....... .....but yes; good to see some common sense from the local constabulary; and you were right not to rise to it. As tempting as it may seem sometimes.....:flowers: Richard:thumbup1:
  18. Awesome Stu - great find mate! This is a classy mod for any 300zx. If you are lucky enough to find a set, that is......:thumbup1: Richard:rockon:
  19. What a coincidence - my wife's birthday is also on the 1st of Feb!! Back to the plot though - hopefully your car won't be off the road that long Jane. It'd be nice if you could get down and meet us all.....:flowers: Richard:cool2:
  20. LOL - no worries mate; I guess you were thinking about the XK8; which, incidentally reminds me that the E-type was actually called the XK-E in the USA...... Richard:balloon:
  21. Hi Jeff, I'm a definite "yes" Julia is at work that day, so I'll be there from 10 until around 2pm..... .....I look forward to seeing everyone there!! Richard:thumbup:
  22. That's right - the minimum legal requirement is 20 days plus 8 days in respect of the normal statutory holidays per annum. Whilst there is no direct entitlement to receiving the actual bank holidays, employers must still give you 8 days off in respect of them (they can either be taken on the actual b/h days, or later in lieu of them). So if you started on 9/8/10 - and I assume your employer only counts whole months service - your entitlement would be 7/12ths of 28 days; or 16.5 rounded up including bank holidays, to 31/3/11. Richard:cool3:
  23. Dead cool Baz - I want one as well!!! Richard:sorcerer:
  24. Many happy returns mate! Richard:rockon:
  25. I wouldn't mate! If you have an induction kit then you will most certainly get water on it every time it rains.... .....Oh and as for the looks it's not to my personal taste; but it's your car:flowers: Richard:shuriken:
