Chemical Guys Blazing Banana....
You don't apply it wet Steve - it's a spray wax. Wash and dry as normal, then spray and wipe over as you would with a detailing spray etc 😉

What did you do to your zed today?
LOL - just go and name names mate.... 😄 But like Tom, I never had issues with Mtec until this time around 😉

What did you do to your zed today?
I had the drilled/grooved ones too - perhaps my choice of Mintex racing pads was too aggressive...Who knows? I still have the drilled/grooved Mtecs on the rear though, and they are still fine 😉

What did you do to your zed today?
I concur - or at least I did until this tome 😉 I've used Mtec for years without issue too, but for some reason my last set went bad after a couple of months......

Auto Gearbox problems
There you go - this is the best option for anyone with auto 'box woes, who is not ready, willing or able to go manual just yet 😉

Auto Gearbox problems
Hi, I posted on this in another thread, as I have had the same problem previously. Chances are, your auto 'box is dead - so you have three choices.... 1. Bite the bullet and go for a manual conversion - cost could be upwards of £2k, depending on where you can source the parts and who you get to do the work. Personally, I would not trust anyone other then Jimmer.... Risks - you're still buying a 2nd hand 'box. 2 & 3 depend on whether you want to stay auto... so: 2. Get a full professional auto-box rebuild. Cost (again) around the £2k mark nowadays - but you will get a warranty if you use a reputable auto 'box specialist. Risks - hopefully none as the work will be warrantied. 3. Buy a GOOD (and I stress the word "good" - adding preferably a KNOWN good) auto-box and get a reputable person to instal it. Again, I would rather Jimmer did this than anyone else.... Cost = less than £1k, depending on what you can buy the 'box for. I had the 'box on my current Zed replaced last year - I bought a very good, known, replacement from a member on here and Jimmer fitted it for me. Thing is, Jimmer also knew the 'box was good... Don't buy any old auto-box, so many people have, only for them to fail shortly afterwards. A few members have had recent manual conversions and are selling their old auto boxes; my advice, buy one of those - you know it's been working without issue prior to being removed!

What did you do to your zed today?
They were M-Tech. I had used them previously as they came recommended, but it seems like their quality has dropped since then..... Needless to say the person who recommended them no longer does 😉

What did you do to your zed today?
As per my post above, my Zed was looking a little dirty - I hadn't washed it since Beaulieu and I've been using it daily for the last couple of weeks, including the Shropshire trip. Hence yesterday I gave it a nice wash with a free sample of Auto Finesse shampoo.... There was no need for a full-on wax as it's still beading water like a duck, so I just wiped it down with Chemical Guys Blazing Banana afterwards, to top up the protection. As for a short review of the products, the Blazing Banana is just brilliant - I've (ahem) waxed lyrical about it before. Just be sure to wear gloves, as the banana ingredient will give you yellow hands LOL.... The Auto Finesse shampoo is all right, it doesn't fully dissolve into the water like other shampoos - and it leaves too many water marks for my liking. Auto Glym and Simonise are way better and don't leave the water spots, Simonise especially, even in direct sunshine 🙂 As usual, this post would be pointless without the obligatory pictures 😉

What did you do to your zed today?
Today I had the second set of front discs and pads fitted this year..... Sadly the discs I bought in March warped pretty quickly. Luckily I had a spare set, along with some Brembo pads, so I dropped my Zed at the little garage opposite my office this morning to have them swapped out..... Happy to report the brake judder has vanished - and even happier that he only charged me £50 🙂 Tomorrow I am going to wash and wax my Zed, as it's looking a little dirty 😉

- Zed road trip to Shropshire
We took the Zed on a little road trip to Shropshire at the weekend, after attending a couple of car shows, I thought it only fair that Julia and I visit the Shrewsbury Flower show! Despite the hot weather, the Zed performed faultlessly as usual - albeit we had a pigeon bounce of the front bumper whilst thundering along a nice empty M40... Luckily there was no damage - the pigeon disintegrated, leaving only a few blood spots and a shadow imprint... Which fortunately wiped away with some detailing spray 😉 - Simply Japanese - 21st July 2024
