The 300 is a fantastic car, don't let the bad experiences of the minority decide for you. My best advice is to get someone who knows the car inside out, to check it over for you. Generaly you get what you pay for with cars and this is true of the zed. Beware of low mileage imports as they are probably clocked, this goes for all makes and models of car.

How much are you prepared to spend? If you have enough money you can get as much bhp as you like.
  6. If you look at the front of the engine there are 2 pipes coming out of the engine. The upper one will have two connectors going in, one yellow, one black. Its the black one you need to check. Also when you disconnect the black one check the spade is not loose on the sender, if it is you can use a dab of solder to secure it or just replace sender.
  7. Check your temperature guage sender for loose connection, also check the sender itself as the spade connector can become loose.
  8. On the whole my zed has been very reliable. No engine problems, just dirty elecrical connectors. I have to change my rear brake pipes due to corrosion, but that happens on all cars eventually!
  9. The rx7 and mitsu GTO are much more unreliable than the zed.
  10. Of course we all know this is true, but the general public don't. When I ever talk about Nissan to people they take the mick! Nissan does not have a great image in the general public I think, and is accociated with lesser cars. But we all know differant. The Skyline has improved Nissan's image of late because that is the car the public seem to recognise. IMO.
  11. If you are into over clocking then the AMD64 Opteron 2GHz is a very good cpu. Has 1mb of cache and can be over clocked to 2.6GHz no problem, has the same archetecture as the AMD FX cpu and cost less than half the price.
  12. Fair play to you sipo for building that car. For me it would be about the look on peoples faces that have a "superior" make or model when you destroy them with a Astra, I can imagine you have killed a few top spec cars. I can't understand why people run down the Vaxhaull brand when we drive Nissans? A brand which most people associate with the Micra!
  13. On Saturday I followed you from the Trench Island through Hortonwood past Maxell you turned off at the Shell garage island near Admaston. I was in a white Astra van.
  14. I am going to be replacing my subframe bushes with Energy polyurethane bushes, and while i'm at it also diff carrier, rear control arm bushing set and rear sway bar frame bushings. A mate is going to do it for me as it is too much of a job for me.
  15. I would be interested to know the answer to this as mine does the same, heat only to the foot well.
  16. Sorry to hear of your problems, can't help you with the legal side. But, it's amazing that lots of garages that sell import zeds seem to have about 53000 miles on the clock! Now the Zed has a very strong engine and for it to be in the state yours is in, it most probably is clocked, and because its jspec its difficult to find any understanable service history. Sorry to rant on but I have seen problems like yours a few times now, 53000 miles on the clock and blows engine or turbo within a few months of buying, very suspicious!

  18. Yes this car is a auto, "Precision Industries torque convertor W/4000 stall" what ever that may be? Also its a full bodied car, still has AC and full tunes with amp!

  20. Very impressive car you got there and great vid. What gear box did you go for?
  21. I'm with Carol Nash to and they did me £210 fully comp. Just make sure the policy and documents are correct as I had to phone back with a list of errors on my documents :(
  22. I drink it occasionally, its strong and very cheap to buy, I think £2.50 for two liters. I can understand how this stuff could kill you if it was abused, literally leathal stuff.
  23. This link should give you some idea http://www.300zx.org.uk/gear_ratios.htm
  24. I was under the impression it is the connector on the power steering reservior that needed to be disconected and then shorted to disable the HICAS?
  25. That sounds very nice, what exhaust system is on it?
