  1. I was talking about the SUPRA not the celica!!
  2. Yeah that sound great, although I have never done this sort of thing so am hesitant about saying yes (don't want to smash my car up). If you want to put up a seperate thread and guage any interest?
  3. is that big enough for you?
  4. Sorry to hear about you crash, at least your ok and can type.
  5. If i'm a muppet then you are a :xxx: LOL, driving on a track is down to driver ability or lack of, not just the weight or power of a car
  6. This is the best afternoons entertainment I have had in a long time!
  7. Wooo who's a clever boy then!? Those figures mean nothing in the real world. Like I said, on the track weight counts. :)
  8. Nice links, although I know most of that stuff anyway from senior school :)
  9. LOL, 300kg of extra weight will have little effect on cars running 3 to 400hp especiall if the suspension is set up correctly, at least on the roads. On track thats a differant matter weight counts. But it's on the roads that really matter, thats were you get to use the power not on a 1/4 mile stretch of road or on a track!
  10. Here is the relation between torque and HP: Torque is the power of a rotating force, which is the product of one of two equal, opposite, and parallel offset forces and the distance between them. When this is applied to a car this means the effort exerted on a shaft to move the vehicle along. When torque is great enough to move a shaft through a given distance in a given time this is expressed as power and measured as horsepower. The more force you can use to make the wheels go from say 50mph to 70mph the less time it will take to get there. The theory is that torque has nothing to do with engine speed (revolutions per minute (RPM)). The torque figures depend on the mean effective pressure in the cylinders (MEP), which is calculated by taking away the total of the average pressures on the induction, compression and exhaust strokes from the average pressure on the expansion strokes. In reality the MEP of an engine, decreases at high speed and the torque drops off. So the MEP is calculated from the Brake Horse Power (BHP) figures for an the engine, taking into account the inefficiency of the engine, so now the MEP becomes the Brake Mean Effective Pressure or BMEP, which is measured in lb in sq! Taken from Thor Racing :)
  11. As I just said, anyone with enough money can get to 700bhp. Sadly I don't have the funds to do this the moment. How many zeds at TOTB? I can't predict the future so don't know :) Disagree with a 4 pot reving higher than a V6. Can't believe anyone would think a 4 pot sewing machine engine could have higher tourque than a V6, unbelievable! As for tourque being irrelevant thats plain silly.
  12. Yeah right, LOL. Anyone with enough money can get up to 700bhp but the torque on that MR2 would be no where near a Z with the same amount of power!
  13. These cars are fantastic, I mean some of them are 13 years old now and people still look at them in awe, and the fems can't get enough of them to especially with the tops off! Enjoy your new ride! :)
  14. I would also like to see on MR2 do 170mph+ that will be the day. LOL, it struggles to do 145!
  15. Haha, yeah there are quicker cars than the Z but a poxy 4 pot MR2 is not one of them! Your MR2 engine has about as much torque as a hair drier motor. Oh and the MR2 looks shit compared to the mighty Z.
  16. Welcome to the club :)
  17. Sensitive? Your the one with the MR2!
  18. Not entirely true, the Supra IV is a 1640kg which is 20kg lighter than the Z, the Mitsu GTO weighs 1759kg. So the Z is about the same as it's competition.
  19. How could anyone go from a Z to a MR2?! Poxy 4 pot.
  20. LOL, they used the manufactures newest model i.e the Skyline is a newer car than the Z32, as for the Toyota, the SupraIV has no succession. I'm sure they will use the Z33 in the new "Fast And Furious". :nono:
  21. Actuall the GTR is only about 100kg lighter than the Z.
  22. LOL at SkylineGTR-Dave, if the z was designed for fat yanks then the GTR was designed for Mammoth's! Just look how big and heavy the GTR is, it needs to go on a diet.
