Did any one see that police program last night with a 14 year old who stole a van and drove down the motorway on the hard shoulder and also drove down the path to get away from the police. He got 2 year suspended sentence. Steel a car, drive dangerously at high speed down a motorway, speed down the path and clip an number of cars, and you walk away. Drift to 35mph on a road and you get a £60 fine, 3 points which will effect your insurance for half a decade even though the points go after 3 years.

But if the police where visable when that Porsche went past, he would have slowed down and the accident would have been averted. If the police where not visable the Porsche driver would have carried on and still killed some one, but got another £60 fine and 3 points. So what is better. The police sending your a ticket, or you seeing the police and slowing down? People now say a speed camera which catches no one, is the most effective camera, because EVERY ONE, was driving at the correct speed.

Report him to the police. Get a video camera and if he comes round again film it.

They did say it was Californian smog testing which it failed on. I know people call the US for the amount of fuel they use, but some states have very strict emmisions laws.

In America, people have failed emissons tests because of removing of the EGR. Would that be true of here too?

You can or you cant pressureise the system? I presume you cant. What are you trying to pressureise it with? Do you have a compressor? I had a home made system but was inferior to the one Vijay does. If you want I can lend it to you. But I will need it back quite quick as I will need it for my Z when the engine goes back in.

have you got Vijay's boost leak detector? Smoke bomb is a good idea but will only work for quite bad leaks which which need no pressure to seep out. Most leaks will only occur when you are boosting and the pressure causes a weak spot or split in the hose to open up and leak. Stuart

I second that. Brake light tend to work from a switch on the brake pedal and the Autobox probably uses the same switch. See if you can find it and give it a watering with some WD40

The reason we have shoes and pads is; Old disc systems used the pads as a hand brake. Metal expands as it gets hot and the you apply the hand brake to squeeze the pads on to the disc. As the disc cools down they shrunk meaning the pressure on the disc would be less and in extreme cases, the pads would no longer be incontact with the disc and the hand brake would be doing nothing. Because drums have the shoes on the inside, as the they cool down the metal would shrink and acutally press harder against the shoes meaning the hand brake is on harder.

I have searched a lot on the US forums and a few people have experienced det at low revs when the EGR is removed.

Look at the rear brake and you will notice it has a drum and disc.
