Advice Please!
Hi Si-Boy. Firstly you can use a 300ZX as a daily driver, I did it for 2 years, but it eats petrol. You are looking at 17-19mpg around town and 25(ish)mpg on the motorway driving about 80. You would probably get more if you stay at 55-60mph but its really hard to do. For £5000 you should get a nice one. There are a few forsale on here at the moment, have a look on the forsale section. Most Zs are Automatics which you said you are not that keen on, its 100% your personal choice, please dont ask people which is best, you will start a war ;) Finding a manual is harder though as it is estimated 75% of them are Automatics. Next you have to think about is UK or Jap. You probably know the advantages of each. UK, better suspention, cheaper insurance and also possiblity of classic insurance, more power? (questionalble), UK also has wider wheels on the rear (Stock wheels), you should get history with it too. Japanese Imported Zs have softer suspention 225 tyres all round (opposed to 245 on the rears of a UK), they tend to have less rust, some having none at all due to not using salt on the roads in Japan. One major downfall, I feel, Japanese Imported Z and other cars I believe, dont have oil coolers or gearbox oil coolers which the UK ones do. Because of this Japanese Import Automatics do have a habbit of blowing. :( You may get some history with an import, probably from when it entered the country till now, but you may not get anything from when it was in Japan, and if you do, can you read Japanese? ;) Many people put oil coolers on Japanese imported cars when they get into this country. For your choices of Z, ALL UK Zs are Targa Top, 2+2 Seater Twin Turbo. So if the car is slick top, convertable, none turbo or 2 seater, it is an import. Most Zs are 2+2 and 2 seaters are quite rare. Also the slick top is like rocking horse shit. I think it was only avaliable on very late Zs like 1998-2000. I would advise you to try and get 2 cars. If you get a UK Z, you can insure it for very little depending on your age, and it leaves your NCB free to use on a 2nd car. I run a Corsa as well as my Z. I use the Corsa to go to and from work, friends, town etc and you notice the difference in money IF you stick to driving the Z for the weekend or some where special. Any more info needed, just ask. I hate spain. It doesn't even deserve a capital letter. The land scape is fowl. Rocky, dusty with no colour. The people are arogant, bitter and self centred. Dont forget this is still a country where they enjoy watching some one killing a drugged up bull. The EC pays for spanish (Again no capital letter) farmers to grow crops only for them to waste it throwing it about. San Migel or what ever its called, tastes shit. People only buy it because it's cheap over there. As you can tell I dont like spain. They can't even play football. Yeah great domestic teams (well 2 maybe 3), but the spanish International team is the only one worse than England. Stuart

I just bought these!:D
I think that is what Stuart got on his NA. Probably worth half the cost of the car. Stuart

Goto an empty motorway, and floor it ;) If it goes over 112mph its had the restriction taken off. ;) Is your speedo in MPH, I think they conversion thing usually gets rid of it too. Stuart

300ZX vs 3000GTO which is best?
The R34 GTR is 0-60 in 5.2. Same as the Z, and that is with 4 wheel drive which will help with the pulling off. After 60mph the Skyline would not keep up with the acceleration of a Z. Round corners though, thats a completely different matter. Stuart

Uk Z
There is not very much space to drive anywhere in Japan, most people take public transport to work as a) It is a fantastic public transport system they have (You get your money back on tube and train fares if its 1 minute late) b) Most places or work dont have parking spaces so there is no option for driving there. Z on Ebay, careful
Errrr, where did I say you was a fool? What suggestions? All I said was be careful what you say as the forum and the owner of the forum is liable for anything said. The person who owns that car could see that and then claim this as a reason for the car not selling as much. Yeah! IM ****ING BLIND!!!! I CANT SEE A ****ING THING AND YET I STILL DRIVE A Z BET LIVE ON FOOTBALL MATCHES AND TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS IN MY SPARE TIME!!!!! What do you thing? Do you REALLY think I am blind? FFS, you didnt say look at the brakes. You said the the car was bent. I dont give a shit. As for the caliper position, there are benifits for moving brakes to different positions. At the Motor Show, the Audi Touring car the calipers where nearly upside down. Calipers work differently in different positions. I suggest you do a little searching. This forum was in deep shit about a year ago because of some thing some one posted. However the person who posted wasnt in trouble but the forum runners where. It was administrators and moderators who has the days of worry, whether they would be sued for damages or lible. Just thought I would tell you.

Z on Ebay, careful
One side does look lower that the other slightly, but it could be a number of things, uneven drive, camera hot held straight, spring slightly sagged on one side, maybe the camera person has one leg longer than the other. ;) Be careful what you say as it could land the forum in a lot of trouble.
