I dont think it is as when I bought mine the filter stuck up higher than the nose panel. I was told to go to the K&N centre in Warrington to get it fitted which I did and they said it wont fit and it was the correct one. After a few phone calls to K&N in the US, Warrington was told it wont fit the UK spec Z. Ever since then I have noticed when you look in a K&N catalogue it says "300ZX (Z32) US Only." Stuart

Most people end up cutting out the old air box as it is easier. Stuart

Which DVDs are you talking about? Are we talking Movie DVD or Data DVD? Most original DVDs are dual layers and hold twice as much data as a DVD-R or DVD+R. If you are talking about films, there are programs out there which will convert the DVD films into a higher compression and get rid of the special features and the forgen languages to save space. Allowing you to put them on to a normal DVD Stuart

Here is a pic of it installed. Another factor for getting one of these, other I have seen requre you to cut away at the splash gaurd to install it, leaving it a more exposed to rain and kicked up surface water. The A'PEXi didnt need any of that it fits very well. It also has the vortex funnel thing which stops an air vortex going past the MAS which has been known to causes the engine to stall at high speeds. Stuart

I have an A'PEXi and I think it is great. The K&N doesnt fit in a UK Z as it is for the US Z and there is no oil cooler in the way. The A'PEXi kit come with 2 bars which are used to keep the filter from rattling about. Something which I have not seen in any other filter. Stuart
  7. I was thinking about putting Apexis on a dual pop, as they are a lot smaller than most filters and said to offer the best filtration and power gain.

Probably have. Why dont you ask Jap City in the traders section?
  9. If the HICAS is damaged it may be better to get a bypass kit for it and remover the HICAS all together. Many people say the handleing improved when it was removed.
  10. DaveW and I dont have one I think
  11. If you are unsure, dont risk it.
  12. OMG. That B Pillar is fecked. I thought that would have been a write off?
  13. Unless you do any Java develpment you wont need it. If you do have problems you will have to install Java Virtual Machine from their web site. Stuart
  14. It is infact a Java Properties program. If you have deleted it the computer will work fine with out it. You have to think that a virus attaches onto other files and dont often make their own file. Also I dont know any virus creater stupid enough to spend time making an icon for their virus. Stuart
  15. The price depends on the time of year because the amount of light you have. I am thinking doing this about March where the light will be about the same as it is now, so I guess the cost will be the roughly the same. At the moment it is £85 for the day, but I have been told that we can get £15 per car off if we book 15 cars or more. Stuart
  16. Congratulations on the new Z. The problem you are experiencing is typical of a worn out speed sensor. Because the steering is speed related, it goes mad when the speed sensor isnt working as it cant work out how fast you are going. Its not a hard thing to change. I think its attached to the gearbox some where. I believe they are about £100 from Nissan or ask AndyZ if he has any. You can find him in the traders section. Stuart
  17. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Input the stock tyre size and then the 255/65/18 tyre and it will tell you the speedo will be 25.8% out. That is a huge difference.
  18. 255/65/18 sounds like a 4x4 tyre. I dont think they will fit on. You have an 18inch wheel and then probably a 2 inch tyre wall. It will be the equivalent of a 22inch wheel. Your speedo will be completely messed up. Stuart

I keep seeing you in new Costco in your red one and I am sure I have seen your black on in Orrell. Did 2 red Zs flash at you a couple of months ago in Billinge?
  21. Flight Sim does take a lot out of the CPU though, but the good thing about games and such you can turn down the detail of the graphics which easys off the CPU. Stuart
  22. If you want really strange, the NEW AMD only run at 1.4Ghz and piss all over the perfomance of a Intel 3.2Ghz.
  23. I can understand the windscreen costing over £1000 for a Jap one. First it will have to be bought in Japan and they cost about the same as they do here, and then shipping for a very heavy large item which will have to be handled very very carfully. And then the TAX and Import duty on it all.
  24. She was 14 when she did that film. :slap: She was also in a film with Richard O'Brien abouta city which changes ever night. Is it called Dark City?
  25. I have a Barton 2800 which runs at 2.08ghz and 512mb of 333Mhz memory. My dad has a Intel P4 2.7Ghz running at 2.7Ghz and 1Gb of333Mhz memory. Running hard CPU tests between the 2 computers my AMD out performed the Intel by quite a bit. Computers can only do 1 thing at once. Forget what people say it can only do 1 thing at once but does it so fast you cant tell. Inside a computer chip are instructions, very simple ones. Some chips have more instructions than others. The computer does what we ask of the computer by using a mixture of these instructions. For example (this is a very general example) asking the computer to work out the area of a circle using Pi r 2. Lets say chip 1 can do 9 calcualtions a second (I know very slow but its just to explain) but needs to do 40 caclulations to work out the answer. Chip 2 can do 6 calculations but has special instructions and can work out the answer in 25 instructions. Chip 1 will take 4.4 seconds to get the answer and chip 2 will take 4.1 second. Disite chip 1 being quicker chip 2 got your answer 0.3 seconds faster. When you consider working a database will consist of tens of thousands of calcualtions the 0.3 x a few 10,000s it all adds up. Also AMD XP are called XP because they are designed to work faster with win XP because Microsoft implimented the use of the XP instriction set in to the OS. Stuart
