  1. Its not. All the autos gave rediculas powers at the flywheel, including a NA Auto which was said to have 245bhp standard. The RR didnt calculate the flywheel power correctly for Autos.

In 1988 my dad bough a brand new Porsche 911 which was probably the car to have in the 80s. After having a go of my Z, he says it is faster, more comfortable, better handling than the Porsche and that he should have got a 300ZX instead of the Porsche. But he said he forgot it was being released when he was looking for cars. Stuart
  3. Ahhh so on these the whole face will light up but the numbers will remain dark? Not like the pictured ones which are reverse glow.
  4. When you say any colour, do you mean if you get the order of 10 you can get some blue some red, or does it have to be 10 of each. Have you told MAC I think he would want some all red.
  5. No Torque on the RR graph?
  6. My Z doesnt have the HICAS as it was removed before I bought it, but the person who owned it before I did said it was better when it was off. There was less wheel hop and felt more secure round corners. You can feel the difference more when going round roundabouts. Stuart
  7. I think out of spite who ever broke into it after realising it had an emobiliser, decided to take what ever was in my car. The only thing in there was my Uni folder with all my notes in. I have spent a week looking for it and the last time I saw it I went Uni with it in the Corsa. Its no longer there. I would love to meet the person who did that because his head would be floating in the canal. Stuart

But was that with a Vauxhall engine? ;) I will agree with that, I never said they where slow. Dont agree. The older rovers are driven by old people, but the turbo is not ;) I think you wll agree with that. I dont agree, did any one take into account that the red line of a RX-7 is quite higher than the Rover. Stuart

Firstly I have not heard any one say the rover is a shit car. Ross has hit the nail on the head though. You are compairing a modified car to a non modified car. Talk of mild modded Rovers running 250-280bhp. Thats between 25% and 40% more than standard. Do the same with the RX-7 and see if you still have an argument. When talking about racing a RX-7 or any other, you are working on the presumtion that the other car is not modified. For example it is easy to mod a Z to just under 400bhp.

There is also a skyline which does 0-60 in 2.2
  11. SRRAE replied to a post in a topic in General Discussions - Non 300ZX
It wouldnt do the same 0-60 at all. As you said, traction is as much as a question from a rolling start, but 0-60 it is. There is no way a FWD car can do the same 0-60 as a car with the same weight and power but RWD. Traction would pay a larger part on a damp road or on a road with corners. Life is not a flat straight road. Do you think a Rover coupé with the same power as an RX-7 would keep up with it around a track? Then if you are then taking about rolling starts and the Rover doing better, you have to take gear ratios into account. What is the gear top speed of a Coupé then? I read its 149mph, but I think that is the terminal velocity, while the RX-7 will keep going to over 160mph.

But I think you have to ask the question when does a make of car no longer regarded as that car? Would you call a Rover with a Skyline engine in, a Rover? Would you call a Rover with, new forged pistons, rebored, huge turbo, stronger head, better cams, better valves, new crank, shorter gear ratio striped out interior to name a few mods, would that still be a Rover? In reality besides the body there would only be a hand full of parts which where Rover. Stuart

From what I found, the 220 Turbo is 1200kg, which is only 20 kg lighter than the RX-7. Not that much lighter then. Why do they have different classes in TOTB? Because a Rover 220 Turbo will not stand a chance against the RWD and 4WD cars. And if you go off engine size would that Rover stand a chance against a Mitsubishi EVO or Subaru STi? You can make ANY CAR fast with money. Get the same amount of money spent on that Rover in you pic on modding an RX-7 and it would probably be pushing out over 600mph. Not bad for a 1.3 litre engine. I have seen modified old Minis go fly past R34s on a track, but what would you rather drive? And back to the original point. Can you tell me why you think a Rover 220 Turbo standard 0-60 in over 6 seconds, can keep up with a RX-7 standard 0-60 in 4.9?
  14. Any pics of them lit up?
  15. Most indiglow dials actually fit over the top of the old ones which makes it easier to install, but most end up causing the needle to stick because of the extra thickness.
  16. What is the installation like? Will the needles have to come off? The hole in the middle doesnt look big enough to be able to fit over the needle while it is in.

2700lb (Light for a sports car) between 255 and 280 bhp depending on spec. 255BHP Spec is 195BHP per tonne. the 255bhp RX7 does 0-60 in 4.9

But back to the main point I think. ;) A Rover turbo would not stand a chance against an RX-7 TT, for a few reasons 1, RX-7 is lighter 2, RX-7 is more powerful, 3, RX-7 is rear wheel drive. For Front wheel drive cars, really anything over 170bhp is too much. When you reach that power the front wheels spin too easily under hard acceleration. Stuart P.S. I dont know why you are calling the Datsun name. It was MG who owned Datsun after WWII.
  19. Ahhh but have you emailed either Chris or Me? ;)
  20. I am rather surprised that people would rather drive in a straight line against a different make of car when there is very little interest in a trackday where probably all 6 generations of the Z, from the 240 to the 350, will be attending.
  21. Lisa Goes to Washington, Homer: I love your book. My favourate part is how to increase your word power, that part is very very.... very............ good.
  22. There are so many, My favourates are Homer: A counter fit jeans raquet operating out of my car hold, wait here while I tell the others. (Homer walks to the door) Herman: (Draws out a gun) Not so fast Homer: OK (Walks slower to the door) Herman: I think you better stop. Homer: How can I teach them about Christianity, I dont even believe in Jebus. Marge: Homer, where are you going with all those bowling balls. Homer: Marge, Im not going to lie to you............. See ya. Mr. Burns: Can you go 6 seconds without embarassing yourself? (Gandpa's pants fall down) Grandpa: How long was that? Homer: I saw weird stuff in that place last night. Weird, strange, sick, twisted, eerie, godless, evil stuff! And I want in. Agent: Tell you what, sir. From now on, you'll be, uh, Homer Thompson at Terror Lake. Let's just practise a bit, hmm? When I say, "Hello, Mr. Thompson," you'll say, "Hi." Homer: Check. Agent: Hello, Mr. Thompson. Homer: [stares blankly] Agent: Remember now, your name is Homer Thompson. Homer: I gotcha. Agent: Hello, Mr. Thompson. Homer: [stares blankly] [A long time later] Agent: [sighs in frustration] Now, when I say, "Hello, Mr. Thompson," and press down on your foot, you smile and nod. Homer: No problem. Agent: Hello, Mr. Thompson! [stomps on Homer's foot a few times] Homer: [stares blankly] [to other agent] I think he's talking to _you_. Eddie: Did you hold a grudge against Montgomery Burns? Moe: No! [buzz]....... All right, maybe I did. But I didn't shoot him. [ding] Eddie: Checks out. OK, sir, you're free to go. Moe: Good, 'cause I got a hot date tonight. [buzz] _A_ date. [buzz] Dinner with friends. [buzz] Dinner alone. [buzz] Watching TV alone. [buzz] All right! I'm going to sit at home and ogle the ladies in the Victoria's Secret catalog. [buzz] [weakly] Sears catalog. [ding] [angry] Now would you unhook this already, please? I don't deserve this kind of shabby treatment! [buzz] Hehehe. So many :D
  23. No I know which one I am talking about. ;) Its you lot who seems to have the problem ;) Hehehehe Stuart
  24. Some people love it, some people hate it, I personally love "The Simpsons" Do you? If so post your favourate Simpsons quote or dialogue, and who said it. It doesnt matter if you dont get it word for word as long as you get it roughly right. Something to pass the time. Stuart
  25. How can you tell if your recircs are working? I think my turbos are stalling when I change gear because the turbos take a long time to spool up after a gear change at high revs when before they would already be spooled up. Stuart
