I need reasons to buy a 300zx
I am 24 and have 5 years No Claims and insurance for me is over £800 TPFT. You can get classic insurance for UK over 10 years old. I think there are places which will get Jap cars on a Classic but I think you have to be 25. The power difference between a NA and TT is a lot. If you want a fast car go for the TT. Imports are more expensive and harder to insure than UK ones. SWB is a 2 seater version. Its Short Wheel Base, makes it ligheter and quicker. All SWB are imports and are quite rare. Look at the forsale section there are a few good ones going for what you are have. One going very cheap at the moment. Check them out. Stuart

Imports?
There is a strange MOT/TAX system in Japan which makes you pay more money for older cars as they want you to get newer ones which have better emissions. After 3 years the car has to have a very expensive MOT type of thing which will cost you over £1000. You are then clear for 3 years before you have to do it again, and the price goes up for 6 year old cars and the same again for 9 years old cars etc. until the price of this MOT becomes not much more than buying a new car. The cars are generally 10 years old because its had its MOT done for 9 years and after that it costs so much to get this MOT that they sell the car. Also I think in Japan you get charged by the mile for driving. The public transport is fantastic too. Some one I know went to Japan and their metro train was 2 mins late arriving. She got a full refund as she walked off the train. Stuart

Workshop manual ?
My dad has bought one, He paid for it a week ago, he emailed them asking where it was and was told it had only been sent today and would take 7-10 days. Over $20 to ship and lets take into account I had a set of pistons and an induction sent from the US in 3 days for $50.

Purple Z's
Here is a pic of the purple. The picture does not do it justice as digital cameras are not good at capturing some colours. Stuart

Purple Z's
I got a few samples of paint when deciding colours. I personally think I found a better colour than the LP2. Stuart

At last I have started.
Yep I will get pics from the side tomorrow. There is a amazing amount of hoses and wires round there considering its a wheel arch. The wings need a little bit of work especially the bottom of them, and when you see the pic from the side you see a drain hole which just dumps water on the inner wing and let it run down resulting it going rusty quicker. The wings are being removed because we are respraying them purple :D

Think I found the source of my wheels banging noise.
I thought that too but some one suggested the wheel bearing was gone. The disk is held on by the wheel.

Think I found the source of my wheels banging noise.
The driver front brake disk is wobbleing when I take the wheel off while the otherside doesnt :( Is that the wheel bearing?

At last I have started.
That bar is just a stablising bar for the oil cooler. Kia, to take the wings off you really need to take the arches off and front bumper off. To take the front bumper off you have to take off chunks of the undertray off. :( Then its simple. The bolts along the top one at the front underneath, one when you open the door, one at the bottom of the wing on the sill and one which is like on an arm which goes into the innards of the car.

Well I'm thinking of something New
If you have £16k plus yours, I dont think you can get a V8 Lotus and family car I dont think. Put it one way. You are getting rid of 2 quite pratical car for 1 that is totally impratical.

Purple Z's
Im spraying my Z purple. It may be the same purple as the Skyline line was as the purple was released for the Z the same time the R33 came out with the purple Im spraying my Z purple too. Its a Nissan purple but I dont know if it is the one used on a Z

Well I'm thinking of something New
Sell her Supra, get the £6k she was going to spend on it and spend it all on your Z

Well I'm thinking of something New
My 2 pence ;) I love Lotus Esprit and is one of my favourate Sports car. I sat in a GT3 when I went to Santa Pod, and I was very disappointed in the inside of it. It just reeked of Vauxhall. The window switches where off our old Carlton, the indicator are the same ones of Novas as was the light switch. The seat didnt move either. :( It really ruined it for me. I still love them, they look great but after that I would not get one any more. However the V8 would be nice. :D I have spoken to Phil at C&S Woods about them a few times and every time I can see him cringe and told Im better off with my Z. Also who is going to pay for the most of it? I can understand sharing a family car because its used as a tool to get from A to B, but sports cars is a different matter. To me a sports car is something personal. My Z is my toy and hobby (That could be an idea for a shop ;)) and its not something that is shared well. What ever you do all the best to you, but I would stick with the Z. Or swap with your wife a bit ;)

What size is the stock intercoolers?
Doing some research on this, for upto 500bhp side are better. Over that front is really needed. I heard you have to cut away some of the back slam bar which is behind the bumper off to make it fit. Larger intercoolers cause more pressure loss too, hence its not worth having a huge intercooler unless your turbos are pushing load of pressure
