  1. I did that with my car, but the contract says you have to prove the car was in A1 condition and worth that, other wise you will only get book price.
  2. There are loads of places in the UK who can make boxes to your spec. You dont need to send off for Amarica for parts like that. Have you asked any UK companies for advice?
  3. could be. I would go for the cheapest possible solution if I was you. Get all your wheels balanced and get it tracked too.

Dont know how I would take that. Where they taking the Mick or just messing around?
  5. Is there a TT version with back seats? There will not be an official TT version as it cant be over 280PS and its at that now. I havent heard any plans for a 2+2 version. I thought they wanted to go back to the cars roots which means NA and 2 seater. One of the main reasons the 300ZX is not classed as a Z series car by hard core enthusiasts is the fact it is 2+2 and turbo. Stuart

The law basically says, you are not allowed to see the bulb. You are allowed to see the glow of the light but not the light itself. I can actually understand why. The car lights are set out like that for safty. If you see a red light, on a car it will be the back, but now you dont know what side of the car it will be, it could be coming straight towards you. Also blue lights are reserved for emergency vehicles. Before all these lights became fasionable, you looked in your mirror and saw a blue light you moved out of the way, but now you look in the mirror at night and half the boy racers have blue lights on. Its the same with green lights. That is the reason it is why the the bulb of the neon is not allowed to be visable.

I dont argee. This person is obviously David Blunket trying to force compuslary Id cards upon us. Oh yeah it starts as a name tag for a meeting, but before you know it these name tags will have GPS sensors, your thumb prints on and DNA samples. ;) Stuart
  8. If there is a pot hole they are liable. Have you taken photos of the offending hole? If not do it and also put something in the picture to scale it, a ruler, packet of cigarettes or mobile phone. If they admit it, they are responsable for all damage including if they dont make your wheels any more, a full set of new wheels at the same value of your old. Very bad luck though mate. I would offer you my stock wheels but they wouldnt fit over your brakes by the sounds of it. :( Stuart
  9. You can get them new for about that price from the US
  10. I OK. They your local mechanic puts you down as financial income on his mortgage application ;)
  11. Interesting. I installed it a while ago but I have no idea how to work it.
  12. The main faults of a 300ZX are They use too much petrol They want you to have more power, They make you want to drive it all the time, They take over your life, They make you on first name basis with the local petrol station, They make you on first name basis with the local police ;) They make you so proud of your car, you keep the speed camera photos for your personal album. :D Hehehehe Dont ask about manual and auto. There have been wars about it. What ever you like you get. Virtually all 300ZX are Targa tops so thats no problem and virtually all are 2+2 too so thats not much of a problem. There arent many faults on the cars. Due to the age any faults with the car would have been sorted, but now you will get parts wearing out for failing just due to the age of the car. But get one for a person who looks after it and this will help cut down any problems as they would have fixed them as they occur. There are a few good ones for sale at the moment. With buying a car from a forum member, you can search for what the car has gone through, and you know that an enthusiast has owned the car and more likely to have looked after it. My advice for you would to read the help and advice forum for a while. You will then see what parts are most common and how much it will cost to fox what. Quite a few new people come on here and ask what are the faults with the car, and its really hard to answer and some go for a very long time with out a fault and some fault after fault. Stuart
  13. No. My dad asked in office world. I didnt know too much about it, but I worked out that is what I needed. Then the person sait it wasnt what I needed and suggested something which I knew was wrong.
  14. yeah thats what I thought. Just an access point for the wireless laptop to connect to the hub.
  15. My dad has bought a Laptop with wireless built in. We also have a network going through a switch where 4 computers are linked together, and I as one of the computers, act as a gateway for the internet. How can we get the Laptop working wireless with our network? There are loads of products and I dont know which one I need. Personally I think we just need a wireless network access point, which where a little thing plugs stright into the hub and the laptop just cominucates with it and connects straight into the hub via this access point and is essentially a part of the network. However when I asked the sales desk, they said I needed a ASDL wireless router. But when I asked him how would the rest of the computers access it, he said they would have to be wireless too  From then on I didnt trust him. So people who have a set up like this, what do I need? Is it just an Access Point like this? http://www.linksys.com/international/product.asp?coid=6&ipid=212 Thanks Stuart
  16. This is a system with 2 air filters. The 2 airfilters go through the 1 MAS, so the MAS is getting a reading of the total amount of air getting into the engine This is a proper Dual POP Each intake has its own airfilter. We only have 1 MAS so you put it on one side, this means its only detecting the air flow on 1 side of the engine, but there is just as much air going into the other side, but the ECU doesnt know this. The result is twice as much air is entering the engine than the ECU has been told. This will cause the engine to run like poo and could do damage So you need a chip which basically doubles the amount of air the MAS detects. That is why you need a new chip.
  17. That is why you should really go off the wheel HP. That is what a dyno measures, and then uses some % to estimate the flywheel. The %age loss is probably not the same for each dyno machine or, each place puts their own vaules in.

I have heard of throwing a spanner in the works, but not throwing a socket in to the works. ;)
  19. How close is this to becoming an officially recognised club? Many other clubs can send evaluations to insurers saying how much they think the car is worth. Maybe it is worth some one writting a letter for him on some official headed paper, see if it swings anything his way.

I think Adam will look convinsing in drag, he already has the hair.
  21. I am sure you dont have to modify the ducks. They look like they just go straight on.
  22. Phone up customs and complain. My dad bought something from the US and it was in customs for over a week. Getting a little peeved off he phoned them and he was told some BS. Low and behold it arrived the next morning.

Interesting. Any reason why a 300ZX will take longer to set up and why it costs more for larger BHP cars? Do they have a different machine for it?
  24. Have you seen that article thats on the internet, where they tested the main makes of induction kit for power gains and filtration? The A'PEXi came top in power gains and filtration.
