Anyone help at all with facilities??
OK so from the info Yassa has given me it looks like I don't need to pull the engine out to replace the turbos! So I could still be looking for the use of someones facilities, preferably fairly close by, of which I wouldn't be expecting to be free. Unless there is someone out there who could do this for me at a reasonable cost :D As above, Any help/info will be gratefully appreciated  Dave

My Pods
Different coloured LED's fitted to the side pods on the dash (air-con, light switches, cruise control etc) a nice addition to any dash

Back from the pod and...
Nick, you're showing your age these days bud!!! :;) And I don't think Pete's selling you the best add-ons for the strip mate, I think he's trying to nobble your chances of beating him!

Anyone help at all with facilities??
Evening all :D Right, a few of you will know that I've not had Eliza on the road for a year now, and I'm really missing not driving her. There are various reasons as to why she has remained off-road, but the short of it is that I want her back on the road and working properly for this summer. Simply I could take her to an MOT station and get a ticket and put her back on the road, but I want the turbo problem sorting as well. So I'm fairly sure that at least one of the turbo's has 'gone' so the engine will have to come out, which one and if it definitely has gone or not I'll be checking very soon. But if my worse fears are confirmed then the engine pull will be the only course of action. Now this is where the problems start, if I take it to a garage then we're talking big bucks of which I don't have, I also don't have any facilities here to be able to do it myself either anymore. So I'm asking if anyone has got spare facility capacity that they could lend to me  (preferably not a million miles away so that I can get to it easily) and hopefully with some knowledge of pulling engines :D as I've never done one before. Now this wouldn't be immediately, as I want to confirm my findings first, but would be in the next couple of months. Any help/info will be gratefully appreciated  TIA Dave

old cars you wish you still had
And what's all these excuses about there not being digital cameras back in those days? It's called using a scanner and scan your old photographs! ;) Just like I've done above!

old cars you wish you still had
Very interesting, as the 2.3 was never available over here in the UK! Mine was my first 2.8 Injected Capri, she was an awesome car to drive with none of the modern technology to stop you from having a crash, the only thing there to stop you crashing was yourself!! :D

Datsun 280zx
Theres also the point of 2+0 or 2+2! Personally the 2+2 is rarther ugly as it's been stretched in the roof line (so did the 260Z and 280Z), the only good looking 2+2 version of any Z car is the Z32 IMHO.

conzult problem

Just need to get the seats done...
Might be easier to see if any of the traders who deal in used parts/break Zeds have a 'gash' interior which otherwise wouldn't be worth anything, then see if they just sell you the panel you need! The reason I suggest this is because you'll be hard pressed to find the correct shade/texture to just replace the rear/s without it looking odd to the fronts, and I wouldn't think it's a good idea to try and re-do the front uppers. Just my opinion, but thought I'd mention it :D By the way, what you've done looks very nice indeed  Dave

Bulb Questions
High Beam (Full) = H1 Dipped Beam = H3 (H3c JSpec, convertible to H3's with the addition of an earth wire) Side Lights = 501 Front Fogs = H3 (But with a 'Bullet' connector instead of a UK 'spade', so just cut off the bullet and crimp a female spade on the loom side and use UK bulbs) Dave ;)

Question about jonce`s knob
Anyway how easy/hard are they to fit. EASY Does that knob he is selling have the lift up feature on it or does the lift up lever bit on mine at the front on the lower part of the stem just get removed with the knob . No you carefully leave the original 'Lift Up' leaver in place HTH Dave

99 spec or original?
Saying all of that though, it would be nice to be in a position to be able to actuall drive my Zed at the moment, as it's been off the road for exactly one year now :(

99 spec or original?
I certainly wouldn't go that far! You still have a good view, as the lose is minimal, also considering that you have 2 door mirrors. I've driven with nothing and the 99 spec, and to be honest there really isnt that much of a difference, but saying that I'm use to driving vans/trucks so I don't rely on the interior mirror at all, just the occasional look.

MOT type/legality question...
- MOT type/legality question...
I think that safey answers my original concern..... it won't pass the beam test, because the glass lens has the pattern on it, and replacing it with a clear lens will not direct light in the correct direction, thus it will possible(should) fail! Thanks for all the help on this - MOT type/legality question...
Cheers bud, will do :D- MOT type/legality question...
Thanks Neil Yep! Just a clear lens, but apparently the beam is very good indeed.- blanked off
You've moved the photos on photobucket ;)- switch
I like the side markers that light up :D that's why mine do! But then I've got the only UK spec bumper with side markers (that I'm aware of)- Folding Mirrors?
Andy, Theres a bit of info in this thread as it's been brought up before. Hope the info is of use to you..... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=52781&highlight=mirror+wiring HTH Dave- MOT type/legality question...
For anyone who knows the ins and outs of the MOT laws...... I was looking at these replacement headlamp covers and wondering if there would be a problem with passing the MOT due to beam pattern etc, anyone know? (Yes I know who's already posted these photo's ;) ) Any help appreciated, thank you Dave- switch
Rear fog light?- 99 spec or original?
I would say the reason (possibly) that most people probably don't like the original version is due to bad experiances with them due to the moisture holding and the rusting problems. I personally don't have any problem with any of the OEM ones, I think they all look nice on a standard car (ie; all original stock exterior) but when I bought mine it never had an OEM spoiler fitted, so for me to be a '99 spec wannabee' is because I like the look of the later styling (in fact it'll be looking even more 99 spec very soon as well :D ) - MOT type/legality question...
