  2. F****** stupid computer!! :headvswal:headvswal
  3. Hi bud, As far as I'm aware Danny never went ahead with the inserts, but wait and see his reply for confirmation on that An alternative place to get hold of them is from the US, take a look at this link >>http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=123247&highlight=chrome+inserts Now as far as I know I bought the original mouldings that these current versions came from, and they were total crap, but looking at the photo's on that link, and knowing that he has a good reputation over there would lead me to believe that they have been improved upon now. Anyway, I hope that is of some use to you. Dave Incidentally I'm currently working on having a set of these inserts moulded into a spare set of headlamps, so if you decide to go this option, then I'll be taking plenty of pics along the way and will post them up as I go.
  4. Hiya Graeme how ya doing bud? Nice to see you back around :D
  5. Looking VERY nice Dewi
  6. What's wrong with lolly pop ladies? They do a damm fine job looking after the little ones.... leave them alone!!
  7. As Nick says, Tim's is Midnight Purple, which is code LP2
  8. Oooooooo don't it look nice ;)
  9. Hmmm, not quite Si :D But should look a lot better when finished
  10. Yeah no problem Isaac, will do bud. Hope to have them finished for the summer, well JAE anyway, of which I'm hoping to attend in Eliza this year
  11. As for the price I paid, I'm not saying (cant actually remember TBH) but YES I did pay for them, and after they eventually turned up (think it took about four months of repeated delays) I was just sick of the whole process and couldn't be bothered to do anything about it any longer. Anyway, it looks like they have gone onto a further stage over on the US site and are now available from a different supplier (although could be from the same moulds) and are supplied in better condition (but I can't confirm that) Anyway, if you want, take a butchers here >>http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=123247&highlight=chrome+inserts I will be doing almost the same as what is shown in these picture (on the link) and cutting the inserts to fit the existing insert and moulding together for a much better finish..... Halfords here I come! :D
  12. A few more pics to show how bad they are.... As you can see, I've got a hell of a lot of work to do on them :smash:
  13. Close enough :D lol But alas the photo doesn't show how crappy the 99 inserts actually are! Before I can even think about the chroming (or if I'll have them chromed even) they'll need a lot of hacking and filling to look half decent. I've had these for about three years now and was so disgusted in how crap they were when they turned up, that I just left them at my dads house and didn't bother with them. Well i picked them up this afternoon, when i picked up the turbos and am going to give them a proper go this time around. Not sure whether to have them chromed or colour-coded! Any thoughts?
  14. lol ;) Right, first one... hmmmmmmm......... Second one...... but can you guess what I'm doing with it ;)
  15. Paul, No problem bud, I'd set out to post all of this info when I installed mine 3 years ago! But never got around to it for some reason or other :D Well I'm glad it's of help Dave
  16. ......... Right you are now ready to drill your holes! Be careful and take your time here, after all you wouldn't want to ruin your boot lid! Also you will be drilling through a double skin for some of the holes. Once the holes are all drilled, and I'd suggest putting some rust inhibitor around the drilled area, and you have removed the tape, it should look something like this... Now for attaching the spoiler. As mine didn't come with any form of seal, I was advised to put some silicone on the base of each leg, so i did... Right, carefully line the spoiler up and place the bolts through from the inside of the lid and twist in a few threads so that it'll catch but is no way tight just yet (you'll get better results with a helper on this stage) Once you are happy with the fit, tighten up all four bolts... You may have a problem with the position of the rear wiper motor fixings, so you may need to remove it temporarily to gain access... Once you've tightened all of your bolts up check it visually, just to make sure, then put everything else back together and you are finished!! Best of luck, and I hope this is of use. Dave
  17. Right, here we go...... First of all find the exact center of your boot lid and mark it (using masking tape)... Then measure the distance between the legs (the inner center points) of the spoiler and half this measurement, then mark these dimensions, in roughly the correct place, on the boot lid... Now place the spoiler onto of the masking tape so that each leg is on the outside of the marks that you've just made, and adjust the distance from the rear lip of the boot lid to a position that looks correct to your eye (mine has it's legs 3.5cm in from the rear edge)... Now draw a pencil mark around each leg (onto the masking tape) and this will form the basis of it's exact position, so this is VERY important to get correct! Now put some masking tape on the bottom of each leg and draw a line that dissects each screw hole exactly and continue to draw this over each end of the leg. Now return the spoiler to the car and transfer these marks onto the masking tape and then remove the spoiler and draw a line that joins each legs two marks. You now should have two ellipses with a center line through each......... Now measure the distance between the screw holes & edges and transfer these measurements to the lines you have just drawn on the car.......
  18. Quick fitting guide coming in a minute, just gota write it first :D
  19. Yeah! That's weird
  20. Yeah, it's a piece of cake!! You'll be on your back in the drivers footwell for a while, you'll scrape your knuckles a bit and probably sware a lot! but i't about three or four screws and a plug coupler and it's out!! Putting it back isn't the easiest job on a Zed, but not tto much of a problem! Position:.. To the left of the drivers left foot, slightly behind the panel How to get to it:... On your back, in the drivers footwell and look up to the heater assembly, and the black box in your view is the Air-Con amp! How to remove it:... Remove screws, drop down and unplug coupler... JD! HTH Dave
  21. Due to the positioning of the front tow hook, a normal flat-bed truck will have problems with the winch as it'll catch BIG TIME on your front bumper whilst pulling you onto the deck. Now I've been on the back of five truck so far in Eliza and most of the drivers have been very helpful and knowledgeable regarding how to drag it up the ramp. But what I'd advise to anyone in this position would be to explain the clearance issues over the phone to the operator on the first call and request that you would require the use of the type of truck mentioned above, where the deck comes off and is flat on the road surface. Now there aren't that many of these specialist trucks around so it may take longer for them to get hold of a local one for you, but it's worth the wait. My last lift was with one of these trucks, and I managed to block the whole of the car park of ASDA at Oadby (Leicester) for about 20 mins :D (there are some ****ing stupid people about!!)
  22.    You now own a Zed!!!! Nah, sorry, only joking bud :D I've run mine for 4 1/2 years before I managed to blow my turbos :D not that I was trying to do in the first place! But you must realise that you still need to maintain these in tip-top order if you want it to look after you! And some items are not cheap, but saying that there are a good bunch of traders out there (most of which are in our traders section) that'll help you out with good deals  Best of luck with it, and welcome to the club Dave
  23. Nice looking tidy car there Nick.... I'm liking that interior :D
  24. I wont be watching it until Monday night (all of it together) so don't say anything as I'm not listening (puts fingers in ears) La, La, La, La, La, La....................
