£30K!!!!! Ok it's in very nice condition, agreed! So he's asking £30K but can't be bothered to put anymore than five lines in the ad, doesn't bother to place Supersized photo's on, no Item Specifics. His punctuation is shite, he's made spelling errors (OK, I know not everyone is perfect at spelling, so don't start that one again..... I'm not, that's why I use Spell Check!) and he expects to auction it for over £30K!! The man is obviously a total idiot! 100% correct, it is indeed the air filter.... One of Fords more wackier looking ideas from the late 60's. I do believe the Lotus Cortina also had the same arrangement (or similar anyway)

At the end of the day, we are not all going to agree which way or another, and that is good because that means we arn't all the same! ;) If the person who buys it eventually is happy with it, and he/she has what they want, then that is a result for the Zed community, because we know, especially if it's someone like Richard, it'll be cherished and kept in a nice condition. No matter what your (Z community in general) opinion of how a Zed should look, keeping at least some of them in as near original as possible is what we should be striving for.

Titanium's are not all that common, they should be because they were originally issued with the Zed by Nissan, but most are no longer still with our cars. And there's no way I'm going to justify paying £100 for a key blank!

Right, well to say the least I'm a little pi$$ed off with this! Check all of your fuses, not forgetting the engine bay ones as well..... if that doesn't sort it buy yourself a multi-meter and start checking back from your clock!

Well like I posted above, it wont be thermostat related. You'll have to do some investigating yourself here, as I'm sure you're aware no-one here is going to say for absolute certain that it is 'this' or 'that' that is your problem! Drive your car until the noise is well apparent, then pull over and start looking around the engine bay to see if you can locate the area, or even the exact place, of the noise. Then you can give us more info to work on. I know it's not the answer you really want, but we're going to need more info first to be able to help.

So what electric fan is running then?

The Thermostat allows water to flow, and has NO electrical connection whats-so-ever! Now there are two temp senders, one is for your temp gauge and the other sends it's signal to the ECU, which then controls everything else that is temp related. Fan coming on? The main fan is attached via a viscous coupling to the engine and is NOT electrical. The electric fan that is in front of the rad will be the air-con fan, and will work in conjunction with the air-con ECU. This will be coming on because your air-con needs it to. HTH Dave
