Toyo Proxes T1-S tyres
Been looking at some Toyo Proxes T1-S tyres. It says that they are only rated at either V, W & Y, but I thought that some people on here had fitted them:confused: If so, does this mean that we can get away with Y rated tyres for our Z's? Please advise ASAP, as i'm looking at buying a set of all four of these for £294 delivered.

First pic of my re-trim
Thanks Andy. I went for vinyl mainly because I want to leather the seats. Depends how it all looks when it's all in place, but may change it :( we'll see.

First pic of my re-trim
Take my word for it, it isnt an easy job. This has taken me quite a while to do. Depending how the drivers door goes tomorrow, i may rip it all out and have a leather one from the ZCentre. This isnt a job to rush into, take your time, plan, plan, plan!!!! I'm sure Stuart would agree with this, and anyone else who has done theirs as well. Vinyl thickness - Sorry not sure, just brought it. The 'Piping' is red - 17amp wire from Halfords :D Glue - This is spray adhesive from the the same place I got the vinyl The wire isnt glued in, although it will have to be on the rear panels, as the recess isnt as deep. HTH

First pic of my re-trim
First pic of my re-trim :D. Probably may re-do a couple of bits, as I'm not tatally happy. Especially as this vinyl is very stiff to work with. Am unhappy with the center console lid and the rear passenger side panel. Anyway see what you think, as I'm doing the drivers door tomorrow afternoon.

Good saving?
Right, and with referance to the pics attached. It is relitiveley straight forward, should take you about 30 mins at the most to have both cards off, the trick is locating all the screws/bolts. First thing, and before you dissconnect the electric window switches, is to wind the window down, then see circular plug, remove (very easy) and then locate the smaller screw head above the larger one in the hole. (sorry no pic, its dark out there, but if you do want a pic, give me a shout and i'll post one tomorrow) This will release the B pillar trim, once you have un-bolted the seat belt (early version). Be very carefull with this screw, a long-nosed pair of pliers come in handy here. Then, using the pics, unscrew all the screws/bolts arrowed. Then you've got to gentley pull out the clips. Then working from the rear of the door first, lift the panel upwards, being very carefull as the electric window switche may be plugged in still. To get the drivers side handle/window switch unit out, u have to prise the materiel piece up to gain access to two screws. And that is basically it. *EDIT* - On the passenger side panel, the handle is held on by two screws behind two rubber bungs (top & bottom) you've got to remove these as well as they hold the panel to the door. And as in all good repair manuals, re-assembly is the reverse of the above :D you've just got to make sure that you line all the clips up before trying to 'Thump' them back in place :D Dont forget to get your electric window switch cable through the hole. Also use a torque wrench to tighen all the seat belt bolts up when you've finished. HTH, anything more, just ask.

Keys have arrived!!!
TBH Kevin, as soon as I said that I already had the keys, I think he switched off..... and the word nob is about right i think. Wait and see whether they get my clip tomorrow. But I am worried about having these cut, especially if they (any key cutter) ****'s these up, thats an expensive why to end up with somthing useless :nono: Might see how much it is to have a normal aftermarket key cut at the cutters, if it's cheap enough, will get them to cut a practice one, then if thats ok, get them to cut these ones :D

Keys have arrived!!!
Was in my local Nissan dealers today, ordering a clip. When i asked him about cutting these keys, he asked me if I had the key number, well I havent, so he told me he couldnt do it. How the hell am I going to find the key number, it's an import, with two aftermarket keys  By the way, i havent received an e-mail Yas, mi cheques waiting to be posted to you, just got to add the amount :D :hyper:

Good saving?
I've read on other posts regarding the front speakers, that some say they are 6 inch or bigger, well I've just done some measuring and the circular part is 13cm (5.25 inch) but the overall total diameter is 15.3 cm (6 inch). The only mod that I can see, and still retaining the metal bracket, is that you have to drill some new screw holes, as stock speakers use 3 screw fitting and these are 4 screw fitting. But that isnt a prob as i had to drill these when I fitted the JVC ones.

Good saving?
Whilst i've got the door panels off ready for re-trimming (wish me luck Stuart :D ) I've decided to buy some Dynamat. This is especially after installing my new sony head unit, as the fronts seem to vibrate a little (they are brand new JVC 110watt's in each side). Whilst in Halfords i was walking past the Clearence cabinet and spotted a pair of JBL 13cm speakers. I enquired about them, and they only wanted £7.99 for the pair, ex-demo ones. So checked them out as best I could, and paid mi money :D They are JBL GTO525e's 135watt, RRP £59.95, so quite a saving. I'm not that into music, to the point of trying to defen myself :D but I do like to hear it when I want to. So i know that some will probably say that JBL arnt any good, or that they arnt very powerfull, but as long as they handle what I want to put through them, they'll do. I really must stop spending money

electrics help - indicators and full beams
it's very tricky to say, I've had mine apart this weekend as well, in fact most of it still is :D And I have niticed that the indicators dont work if the hazard switch is disconnected, like mine is at the mo. Wasnt sure about the other way round though. All i can say is that you may have dislodged somthing, but then that seems obvious :slap: sorry.

Kitchen appliances.......
Nope, i used the paper :D, good idea!! Work in progress, as they say, gota do the door cards yet.

Kitchen appliances.......
Ok what is it about using kitchen appliances to do mods on our Z's. Re-Trimming the interior - Using an iron to flatten out the original panels, so that we can mark out the new ones. Fitting the EL rear panels - Using the oven to warm-up the panel. Modding the rear lights, for the '99 spec look - Using the oven to warm the light units up. How many more mods do we do that require us using kitchen appliances????? PS - See i avoided any comments regarding using the wife/girlfriends/mother's kitchen appliances  , I aint getting into that ;)
