  1. This may, or may not be your problem, as this'll be difficult to check on for sure. What you've described here certainly sounds the same as happened to my old Zed, flooring her and under heavy acceleration she would blow large quantities of grey smoke out behind me. Traced it down to the rear crank seal that was leaking oil into the bell housing under pressure. This in turn has a hole in it which allows the oil to 'drip' out. Now when you're moving at some speed this 'drip' blows backwards directly onto the cats and smokes immediately giving your a James Bond smoke screen behind you! A way to check this is to look under the car and inspect the bell housing, if it's all oily then you've found your problem! One new rear crank gasket required and the removal on the bell housing to fit it. It's certainly something to consider, HTH, Dave
  2. As already mention could very well be the 'Bulb Check' unit, it's located (if my memory serves me well!) on the righthand rear light unit (or there abouts). But I'd defo be checking the fluid level for sure, as this is a good potential point. HTH Dave
  3. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :crying:  :hammer:
  4. Thanks guys for the great welcome, it's nice to be back. It's nice to see all the old names who have looked at this thread, a few I've not seen before but a lot of the old usuals there as well :) I've just been doing some looking around at the new site (well new to me anyway) ooo it's a bit different :thumbup1: I'd love to buy another Z32, but to be honest my good lady is a bit of an age snob when it comes to cars. It seems that anything over ten years old must be a rust bucket (that applies to any car, not specifically the zed!)! I think I need to show her some of the gorgeous examples that there are in the club. I'm sure she would of loved Eliza had she had the oppertunity to see her in her hay-day. Either way round I won't be buying anything this year as I need to save some folding stuff up now, as the wedding has cost me an arm and a leg!! :) On that score, may I just say that Angela (my good lady) is the most wonderful person I've ever had the good fortune to meet and has turned my life around in so many ways (those who have me on Facebook will already know this, lol) and she adores the ground I walk on, which is nice! Anyway, I'll continue to stick my oar in whereever I feel a need, so no change there. I still have all my old Z32 info, pdf brouchures, video's and photos so nothing has changed there either.
  5. Oh, and I no longer live there, just in case anyone sayd I've given my address out ;)
  6. How the hell did you find that? lol Shows how old our local StreetView is, here's Eliza and she's been gone three years..... http://goo.gl/maps/tCLWl :(
  7. Thanks Richard, lol, I' tried to reply to a message you sent me ages ago but realised that I can't as I'm no longer sub'd, so my answer is.... I'll back down as a mod, but thanks anyway!! lol I've still got my enthusiasm for the Zed and really do wish I could get a decent one again (would of loved to have Eliza back and in full working condition, but that's not going to happen) Has anyone ever heard anything about it? The last I knew was some specific parts came up on eBay for sale, which led me to believe that she was being broken up. Alas the only Zed I'm likely to have is a BMW Z4, which if I buy the 2.2 version means I can run it cheaper to work every day than the Alfa at the moment. It's not a Zed, but then nothing ever will be!!
  8. Thanks for the welcome back guys, it's nice to be back :) As for the Alfa Baz, yes I still have it, although it's full of dents due to the really bad hail storm we had last June (10 minutes of golf ball size hail!!!) Bodywork wise it's a write-off, but it's still getting me to work for now at least. Gutted when it happened, but hay-ho what can you do against Mother Nature?? lol Oh, BTW, NO I don't want another one (unless it's an 8C, lol) Gary, yes mate still testing trains for now at least. Alan, hmmmmm ;)
  9. Hi bud, yeah it's been a while (almost two years since I was last here) Things were just not going right, especially after Eliza went :( anyway new life now and about to be married, so thought I'd pop in and see who's still here, or not! lol Would love another Zed, but, alas, prob wont get the chance as I need something a little more economical these days, but you never know ;-)
  10. Well, as title, good afternoon to you all. I'm new here, don't own a Zed at the moment, owned one in the past though, used to be known as Eliza and ran with FLZ 2300, if anyone knows of it let me know, but I beleive it was broken! :( Anyway, just thought I'd say hello :)
  11. Thanks guys for the Birthday wishes  Sorry I'm posting late but I've been quite busy since I got back from Spain on Sunday afternoon :cool3: Yeah, 44!! strangely I don't feel any older than when I was 43 ;)
  12. Evening all :cool3: GOD IT'S HOT!!!!! 26 degrees average!! I'm not used to this hot weather, sun, sun, sun :tt2: And to cap it all, I've got to put up with another week of it!!!! Only a quick Ola though, as I'm not wasting my time down here thinking of you lot!! Absolutely love it down here (Benalmadena, Malaga) :tt1::tt1:
  13. This Google search may be of some help... http://www.google.co.uk/#sclient=psy&hl=en&safe=off&q=ice+cream+van+fitters&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&fp=6d1c341d4c9c0abe Try contacting one of the conversion companies and see if they can help you out. HTH
  14. Yeah, you've got to use it a lot, otherwise that could happen. Then again if you're not going to be using it a lot, it's not worth buying one in the first place.
  15. That's my old set up, I'm running a Epson Stylus Photo R265, which is much better :D
  16. I have had various printers in the past, but swear by Epson ones, especially if you can use a CIS! What's a CIS? Well it's a Continuous Inking System, which is basically a plastic container which you sit next to your printer, which is divided into sections (4 or 6 depending on the printer) which contain 100ml of ink each. This ink is transferred to the 'dummy' ink cartridges (that sit in the normal place) via thin capillary tubes. You simply keep the side container topped up whenever it starts to empty. You buy the colour ink in bulk and save a fortune!! The downside?..... Only certain models are compatible, which is very dependent on the location and accessibility of the cartridges. This is what they look like installed... HTH
  17. ^^ :ban::gunsmilie:
  18. Init! Lazy? It's spelt the way he obviously speaks, like a total retard!
  19. ... yeah loads of people! Mainly Ice-Cream sellers.
  20. Get your de-fusion correct, as you need it to spread the pattern correctly. If you're going to go for a clear lens then tint it then just go the normal route and use a florescent light de-fuser. You'll still get a decent spread, plus it's rigid and clear. You are going to have to use coloured bulbs, but you've got to consider the brightness as well, otherwise you'll get pulled by Plod! ;)
  21. Hi Marcus, long time no see bud. Sorry to see you're selling her, but I understand. But has already been said you have to be subbed to sell here. So to all concerned, if this turns into a sale thread in any way further, then I'm sorry but it WILL get pulled! No disrespect to anyone new or old, but 'Rules is Rules'
  22. I've resized mine, it's now so small you can't even see it
  23. Yep, sounds very nice, would like a bigger TV to play mine on, only got 32" :1eye: I was originally looking at 1Tb drives, but then I received the e-mail flyer for the 2Tb ones (internal) http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product.aspx?code=HDS-204UIZ4 not a bad price at only £57, was only £53 when they snet me the e-mail
  24. Well to be honest I'm not doing as much burning these days, got far too many DVD's, hence the two 2Tb drives. I might as well just store stuff until I get around to watching it :D
  25. Mikey, when I get the chance over the weekend I'll post you a link to a small programme you can download and run that'll display all the info on your computer, ie: motherboad type, processor specs, ram etc, it's dead simply to use you simply run it and read the result, which is displayed on the screen. I'd post the link now, but I've forgot what it's called  I've got no problem with the 32Bit system, it's just that it won't reconise ram much above 3Gb, and as I'm already running 2Gb I might as well up it as far as I can all at the same time :D especially as the HDMi output is on-board, and I do a lot of DVD burning and other hungry stuff ;)
