Hi Mac, took her out for a spin today.... here is a breakdown of where we are. constant overheating problems 3 burst pipes and bust heater matrix - new matrix installed and all but one pipe replaced - we are awaiting an import from japan hopefully later this month so the heater matrix is still by-passed. Faulty earth on lights now corrected so i have driving lights although still very dim Dodgy earth connection on indicators fixed so they dont blink silly any more. Near side turbo gasket blown - awaiting replacement - Gearbox vibration in 2nd and 4th (nope not gator mis-aligned) probably due to prop problems - looking to have a single piece prop made. Clutch vibration - who would put a paddle clutch on it anyway. awaiting replacement air conditioing compressor blew up last weekend and siezed causing severe damage to pump and belt - i had the belt cut off it today as a temporary measure. Overheating problem has stopped - maybe this was the problem and will be resolved with a new compressor. awaiting quote for stage 2 roller bearing T28 hybrids. awaiting quote for steel flywheel or skimming of existing. exhaust is ****ed due to speed bumps - awaiting replacement HKS middle section with custom large bore down pipes. Head gasket to be replaced with 2mm metal rated to 2 bar + boost . and every time i put my foot down :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ohhh the life of a zed owner

I think warren was running about 2 bar at the time
  6. dont you worry about that jezz - she still spends more time in the garage than on the road
  7. awwww shit............. harve how did they get you ? p.s. i like the number plate Regards, Alex
  8. HI Tanzx, my zed has been running hot since i got her a couple of months ago - i knew the air con was on its way out because an annoying ticking from the compressor, however i never connected the two things. yesterday the compressor finally died and the zed has behaved herself beautifully ever since. i can only assume that the faulty compressor was putting an unduly high load on the engine. I'll see when i get it replaced. Regards, Alex
  9. i think its the gauge isnt reading correctly - she sits quite happy with the stock gauge at halfway and the pod at 105'C. I've finally got her back from Progress for the heater matrix and water pipes - i'll send you an email about that - and dave thinks that she is giving faulty readings - when the gauge was at 100'C he could still hold the water pipes in his hand. damn z's make you paranoid - did anyone mention a joint therapy session?
  10. Hi Warren, i was on the M25 last week - the aftermarket pod was reading 115 'C but the stock guage was only slightly higher than halfway - any chance the guage is f...ed? has this happened before? Regards, Alex
  11. Been seeing a zed around in my home town looks in good nick - grey with a set of bonnet vents. is this you??????????
  12. hi mark - thanks for the info, it will be useful to have a good local guy. Let me know how he works out. Regards, Alex
  13. Hi Mike, do you know what time you are getting in to Watford next Saturday - cause if you could make it earlier than 11:30 i would be grateful - is 10:30 possible ? I have to go to me ma's for a bbq in ross on wye Regards, Alex
  14. HI MIke, saturday at 11:30 i can do and it would be a pleasure - confirm train details and where in essex you need to go and i'll sort you out - Regards, Alex
  15. oh = p.s 400hp - sounds nice - what mods?
  16. excellent - i'm supposed to go to me mums on the 9th for a bbq - but should be able to make sort of late morning or early afternoon ohh wait a min- what station you comming into? if its somthing like watford i could perhaps pick you up and take you to essex - save you comming into london and back out again. Otherwise could always meet up at south mims services for someting for a chat. Regards, Alex
  17. HI Mike, is it the 2nd/3rd i am supposed to be in leicester that weekend -and i'm supposed to be picking the zed up on the 5th but let us know and hopefuly we can meet up. oh congrats - i'm betting you have a big grin on you face :D Regards, Alex
  18. ohh dont ask - i spent 1 week driving her - the rest she has been in the garage having things fixed. she looks good and goes well when she goes - i'm awaiting water hoses from japan at the moment so she probably wont be on the road much before september. but i have a long long list of things to repair - exhaust is ****ed so getting a quote for HKS front and middle sections (also speed bump dmamage i gather) turbo gasket has gone so need to replace it - gives me a change to put something bigger thand the TB22s on though - probbaly going to go down the T25 hybrid route :D Clutch is sticking - bloody racing clutch - will change it for a normal variety. Flywheel - nothing really wrong with this although i fancy a steel one. so all in all - 15k and rising i would think - not bad for a car which has a list value of £2k
  19. p.s. silvia engineering is in essex - maybe they can help
  20. hi mike - decided you couldnt be without one?

HI Jeff, i'm incredulous that someone would do that - WHY? I've been moping around all weekend because the zed wasnt ready to come to billing but now i am really glad i didnt go. No matter what the situation is there is simply no excuse for that kind of behaviour - as a newbie to this forum i know my thoughts dont carry much weight but i think this really needs to be addressed - where does it stop? I have seen some of the posts in the last month or so and have kept quiet because there is no way i could know who's side is right but you have my full support on this one - there is a big difference between making a point or larking about - what was done to this weekend was evil. Kindest Regards, Alex
  22. hi aaron - yep its wazza's the radiator cap was the nismo - going back to standard to see if it helps. i am told that no gasses in the water jacket. wazza said she ran at 95'C - hot but since i picked her up she has run between 95 - 105 and 130 when she blew the heater matrix - something aint right - i replaced the heater matrix - she blew a hose - i replaced it she blew another -i replaced that and she blew a third - i'm awaiting all the hoses from nissan - either there is too much pressure or all the hoses are ****ed. either way she was running too hot anyway. Regards, Alex
  23. HI smithy - progress engineering built the engine so i wil probably get them to do the work - i know the turbo actuator is rated for 14psi as standard - i am going to ask them to pu a 22 psi 1.5 bar actuator on them - air-fuel shouldnt be a problem - its wazza's old car so running a mines stand alone ecu and greddy emanage sysytem - i will get progress to put her on the rolling road to map her. i gather she comes with forged pistons as standard - progress dont recommend a different cam due to drivability - i know she has a fancy head gasket that wazza had fitted so really my only concern at 1.5 bar is oil seals. I think ptogress is quite conservative so i'll see what they reckon their engine will run. oh yeh - exhaust is ****ed - need a new one - toooo many speed bumps. should be spectacular whenits done though. Regards, Alex
  24. hi - you might like to speak to progress engineering (dave)- they have replaced the heater matrix on mine - and now are replacing all the water hoses - 6 i think - i believe there are two more but are made of a different material so wont go. I have been told different reasons for the problem but i'm still havent got to the bottom of it. it could be 1) custom radiator not working 2) air diffusser behind front grill fitted incorrectly 3) radiator cap not regulating pressure 4) bad head gasket pressurising water jacket. Mayvbe 1 year and £10K i might get to the bottom of why she keeps overheating. - *****ks - might actually get to drive her one day.
  25. giving it a bump - 'cause i'de still like some input - mac - you anything to say?
