Now that colour is absolutely gorgeous! TBH, I like the orange, just not on a stock exterior...will be interesting to see how the two marry up :)

It's been a while since we've spoken (funnily enough was going to email last night about the website as it's finally ready to go on-line...but nodded off before I did!) but blimey, I'm glad you walked out of that one ok...the thought of any accident involving lorries always fills me with dread tbh. :( At the end of the day, cars can be replaced...you can't. Voting has FINALLY started for the Orange Unsigned Act "Battle of the Bands" competition that I'm entered into. You can vote 3 times a day but only 1 vote per band and as far as I know voting goes on for 2 weeks (though as they started late this may not be the case any longer!) That video was hilarious. It's rare that something on YouTube actually makes me laugh out loud! :D But...I don't get the whole machismo aspect that seems to go hand in hand with eating peppers? Maybe it's because my Crohn's makes me uber careful what I eat and very aware of the damage certain foods can do but I really don't get it! If I ate one of those you'd probably see me turn red then explode after about 10 seconds! :wack::D

Hey Pete, long-a-time-a-no-speak-a! :D Great to hear you like 'em chap! :) No downloads as yet as they're technically not finished. The Mastering that's on them is only what I've done myself so they're going down to SRT (Sound Recording Technology) in Cambridge at the end of this month to be Mastered professionally (and having all the necessary PRS and PPL codes put on the glass master so I get a bit of royalties when they're played on t'radio...had to sell my new, shiny, Carbing Strut Braces to help cover the cost when I found out exactly what the final bill was going to be but it's hopefully going to be worth it! :rolleyes: ;)). Then, once I get the artwork for the CD finished (it's going to be supplied with a 6 page booklet...although there's also going to be a VERY Limited Edition set of 20 or 25 that will come in a hand-made "book" affair, individually numbered and signed) it'll be available in both CD hard-copy and digital download formats. That's the plan anyway! Fingers very firmly crossed that all of the above goes smoothly matey...! :)

Well, it's the last day before the artist pages are frozen so I've gone with "No Surrender", followed by "Everlasting" and finishing with "Panic (Bring On The Bomb)". All I can do now is keep fingers firmly crossed.... Thanks again to all those that voted and posted on this thread! :)

Well, it's the last day before all the artist pages get frozen, so if there's anyone still out there who'd like to support us by playing the tracks, posting a comment on our blog or, possibly the most important thing, make a "mixtape" on the site of our tracks, then there's only today and tonight left! TBH, I'll be very suprised if we get through to the next round as there's a ridiculous number of bands and solo artists on there! Meh :(

That, Stewie's book monologue and the "where's ma money" episode get me p1ssing myself laughing every single time! :D Oh and any of Brian and Stewies "Road to...." parody episodes... particularly when they go to London to see "Jolly Farm Review"....classic... :D

Working on, working on that for quite some time? Huh? Yea, talking about that 3 years ago. Been working on that the whole time? Nice little narrative? Beginning, middle, and end? Some friends become enemies, some enemies become friends? At the end your main character is richer from the experience? Yeah? Yeah? No, no, you deserve some time off. :D ;)

To all the guys that have voted on the poll/posted their opinions, thanks so much, I really appreciate all the input so far! :) Before posting I got it down to a shortlist of 5: "No Surrender" "Stronger, Faster, Fitter" "Last Day" "Panic" "Everlasting" so it's great to hear that the choices so far are roughly going along the same route! Just need to ditch 2...hmmmm...

For this Orange Act unsigned thing that we've entered you have to choose 3 songs to upload to your page on their site. When entries close on the 31st the page is frozen and you can't change anything. So, I'm sitting here humming and ha-ing over which three tracks to include. And I thought, "why not ask the people that matter, the listeners?" :) If you've got time to go on my MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/thisburningage , listen to the 10 tracks and then vote for your top 3 on here that would be great. TBH, it's something I need to sort out regardless as it's a general rule of "3" when it comes to submitting your stuff to record companies/radio stations etc so some feedback would be perfect if you've got the time. Thanks guys, muchos, muchos appreciated! :) The album is being mastered next month and, now I've sold a few bits and bobs off the car, with more going soon (Mark, if you're reading this, the brakes are nearly off! Sorry for the wait chap!), it'll be sent to be pressed soon after. Just trying to decide which tracks to put up...in fact I'm about to start a poll in another thread about that very thing...!

Jesus, I wouldn't like to do one entirely by hand! ;) As far as how many hours...I honestly don't know. A lot! lol. I did it in my spare time over the course of a couple of weeks, putting in about an hour a day, more at the weekends.

I've polished a few for friends on here in the past (and without blowing my own trumpet toooo much, did a bloody good job of 'em) but gave it a rest for a while as it's ridiculously time consuming, people generally don't want to pay for all your effort and I've grown quite attached to the skin on my knuckels again..lol :D ;) I'd definately go down the polishing route rather than chroming for exactly the reasons Dave outlined. In the finest Blue Peter tradition, "here's one I made earlier" (I hardly ever did the TB's and linkage. The above was a one off ;))

My band and I have entered this years Orange Act Unsigned...essentially a chance to get our mugs on the telly box, play in front of a screaming crowd of moistened teenagers and hopefully win. And get offered a shiny new record contract. By a man in a suit (living the dream baby!). So...we REALLY need your support. Members on here, friends, husbands, wives, aunties, uncles, lovers, pets, Thai mail-order brides, random people you've dragged off the street...EVERYONE. The "official line" is that 25 bands are selected by voting that starts on September 1st (closing on the 14th). And this is MAJORLY important, don't get me wrong. We really want to see those fingers...registering votes! BUT...if you delve into the site and read the small print tucked away...it becomes apparent that there's a team of rersearchers and industry bods scouring the site already looking for talent who will choose another 25. Whether the 25 that get voted get through is anybody's guess ;) So we really need a 2 pronged attack. 1st off, we need to get noticed on the site...that means play our songs till your ears bleed (or alternatively just keep clicking on them in the background!), leave lots of positive comments (are there any other kind? ;)), and very importantly, put together a "mix tape" of our songs. The latter is definately scrutinised! 2nd-ly. We really do need your votes. There are A LOT of bands in this competition and we really will need what is technically referred to as a shitload of votes to even make a dent on them as a lot will be crappy, plinky plonk "indie" (and I use that term quite wrongly) bands churning out homogenised, generic pap, but with hordes of early teen, scene-ster friends with spiky hair, thick belts and trousers 10 sizes to small who will vote in their droves as they only have slightly more free thinking ability than the average sheep (and breeeeeath....calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean) ;) This is the link to our page on Orange Act Unsigned: http://orangeunsignedact.co.uk/acts/this-burning-age (our guitarist has just left and I was a bit worried that this would jeopardise our entry but apparently we can still carry on in the competition with a replacement...Yippee! etc :D ;)) Any help, plays, comments and votes that you can send our way will be eternally appreciated :) Leigh.
