  1. If it's any help, here's a pic of my glovebox conversion. Originally there was a turbo timer in there with the gauges but it's since been removed;) Leigh.
  2. Thought I might pop my head up and say that if anyone is looking to have their beloved Z captured for posterity, I'm a practising artist (and now part-time lecturer) and have been for nearly 10 years (B.A., M.A.)...;) My exhibition stuff takes the form of sculpture/installation art mainly in conjuction with the art "collective" I work with (http://home.clara.net/aas/) but the majority of my bread and butter commissions are for abstract paintings, line-drawing and sketch work....Not taking anything away from the other chap but just thought I'd let you folks know...;) Leigh.
  3. Just off to my mates house to have a few bevvies before travelling into Brum city centre to meet up with more friends and go clubbing! So.... Happy New Year everybody! Hope you have a happy and safe 2004!:D Leigh.
  4. Echoing all of the above!:) Congrats to you both Pete!:D Hope the Zed finds another good home  Leigh.
  5. By the way, as much as I love my "old faithful", I gotta admit I'm seriously considering cheating on her. The object of my affection: a Gibson Les Paul Studio Gothic...Jesus...she's beautiful...hey J.D. what were you saying!;) :D
  6. Me. ;) 1 extremely gigged-out and knackered Yamaha with dodgy Floyd Rose Trem, warped neck and "aftermarket" (heh-heh;)) Seymour Duncan pick-ups. This thing would withstand a nuclear holocaust. God I love that guitar. 1 Takamine "Dreadnought style" acoustic, equally long in the tooth. 1 Classical guitar of indeterminate origin bought from Cancer Research for a tenner.:p Electric runs through a 25th anniversary Laney solid state amp...no need for "warm" sounding over-priced valve amps in my set-up...run it through my effects processor and I can make it sound however I want... And the whole mess eventually ends up being lobbed into Cubase. My best mate and I have been into music since we we're sixteen and in very naff bands together. He's about to take voluntary redundancy so we can get together, combine our stuff from seperate projects and give it our best shot before we hit the big "three-zero". Kind of an all-or-nothing, do or die situation!
  7. And another thing! Why is it that whenever you know you have to get up early its harder to get to sleep!? ;) Got an early start helping my Dad with some DIY tomorrow (today) and have I been able to sleep? Have I feck! Gave up in the end and watched "Brazil" on TV (which was excellent as always) and now just off to attempt sleep for the umpteenth time...Anymore nightowls lurking in the shadows sign up here...;)
  8. Right back atcha Matty!:D Just got home from the pub...quickly saying hi to the folks, grabbing a bite to eat then I'm off back out to...you guessed it...the pub!:D Merry Christmas everybody! Leigh.
  9. It occurred to me that a lot of the time I see the same few people on here at a ridiculously late hour... I think a roll-call for the night-owls amongst us might be in order:D If you got a reason as well, stick it down. Myself, I guess I'm an intermittant, partial insomniac!;) Get most of my good ideas for art stuff and a lot of my work done at night... So come on insomniacs...stand up and be counted!:D Leigh.
  10. Oi, J.D!! Don't make me get my brushes out...! ;) :D
  11. Cheers guys, thanks for the luck and general good vibes! One of the great things about this place:)
  12. Done!:D :D :D I know this must seem pretty standard fair for the majority on here but, considering I'm a total novice when it comes to mechanics, I'm pretty bloody chuffed with myself all the same!:) Finished everything around 2 o clock, took her for a test drive and everything "seems" fine. Was a bit worried about the release point for the clutch pedal at one stage during the bleeding but turned out I hadn't quite got all the air out of the system and it sits just right now. Phew. The only minor fly in the ointment is that when I got her home, switched her off to unbolt the gates and when I turned the ignition back on the left headlight went! At least thats an easy job for another day... Right, I'll be off for a well earned drink tonight then!;) Leigh.
  13. Right. Come in for a cuppa and to get warm:D Touch wood, things are going ok...slave and hose are changed and oil filter fitted (thought I might as well do an oil change while we're there). Just looking over the bleeding procedure stuff before tackling it!
  14. Today with a couple of mates I'll be mostly attempting to replace the Slave cylinder, Slave cylinder hose and bleeding the clutch...praying to the car gods it all goes ok! Wish me luck fellas...:( ;) Leigh.
  15. Had almost forgotten that one! Seem to remember there was one called erm..."Shadow Ninja" (maybe?) that always got my attention. Jeez...and to think at the time how "state of the art" everyone thought they were! Oh...and there was also the singularly most annoying arcade game on the planet...think it was called "Dragons Lair"? The one that had cartoon graphics? You always seemed to end up dying after about 4 seconds not knowing what the f*ck had happened. Then again, maybe it was just me... ;)
  16. Brings a nostalgic tear to my eye! :D Mind you...I seem to remember always being swayed by "Afterburner". Christ I poured so many 1 pond pieces into that as a kid it wasn't funny! Oh...and now I'm thinking about it, "Golden Ax" as well! The inevitable result of family holidays at the seaside!:D
  17. 'Fraid not. Think the last arcade driving game I played was "Outrun"! (showin my age now! :D )
  18. Cheers for the offer asudo but I'm going to hire my board when I'm over there and I "think" I've got the clothing sorted! It's appreciated though mate!:)
  19. PMSL! Particularly the "1944" one! :D
  20. Thanks again for sortin me out with the boots on PM mate....if my friends were still skatin' I might be tempted to give it another go (depite visions of being well and truly shown up by kids half my age! :p ). Kinda still regret selling my board...ah hell, never say never I guess!;)
  21. James: Cheers for posting the pics, I'm deffo interested in the boots, will PM you tonight about 'em mate!:) PHatty: When I was a skater, back in my dim and distant, I used to love it...still kinda miss it in a way, tho I'd probably break my neck if I tried a simple ollie now and the only grinding I get up to is if I get lucky on a Saturday night!;) :D NismO_UK: "I used a pair of crappy googles in Canada and ended up falling down the side of the mountain!!" Er...right...those are going near the top of my "to buy" list then! ;) Just been on the sites you mentioned...glad to see it's not quite as bad price wise as I thought it might be (considering I'm definately on a budget!). ChrisC: Open the link and kiss ma white ass MoFo...:mac1: ;)
  22. "wow'd my botty"!! Jesus. And before that I was just concerned about breaking something...ouch!:D My mate and I have decided to give the local dry ski slope (at the Ackers Trust) a miss and take a few trips to Tamworth to use the snow dome. Hopefully by the time we get on the slopes proper we won't look quite so stupid and be more able to just get on and enjoy it! :) Cheers for the advice mate will deffo be taking out insurance! Leigh.
  23. Cheers James, I'll check out the pic when I'm online again tomorrow night! Eating your words yet Shrimpster?:D My feet may not be big galumping clod-hoppers like some, but concerning what people say about the correlation between shoe size and...other things...I like to think it's always nice to prove an old adage wrong...;) :D
  24. Hey James, had a feeling you'd be able to help after seeing your sig!:D Believe it or not, I'm not entirely sure where we're going! One of my mates goes every year and he's the fella arranging it only this time me and my best mate thought we'd tag along and see what its all about. I know we're going to France but that's about it so far...Val de something or other! What I do know is that we're going the first week in March. I used to be well into skateboarding from 16-18 so I'm really looking forward to it (that and the apres-ski;) ). I'm a size 8 mate so if the boots will fit I'll gladly take them off your hands! Cheers for the advice mate! Leigh.
  25. Planning on going snowboarding for the first time ever this coming March with a group of friends. Luckily one of the lads, although a competant skier, is going to try boarding so at least I'm going to have someone to fall over and look daft with! Anyway, just wanted to see if someone (James300 are you out there?:D ) could advise me on a few things. Wondering how much all the get up is going to cost and where are the best places to buy from (I guess I'll be hiring the board itself over there)? If there are any other bits of advice people can offer to a complete novice that would be great! Cheers, Leigh.
