  1. Fair play if you see a film and don't like it, but I don't quite understand why you'd actively avoid watching the Star Wars films  It's difficult to interpret from just text in a post but it seems you're almost proud of the fact you haven't seen them! ;) Like it or not they're a major western cultural reference point and their influence can be seen in a multitude of other forms outside of the genre. To not have seen them is to ostracise yourself from this. Go on Ian, give 'em a go, even if it's just to say you've done it and won't be doing it again...you might just like 'em! :) Leigh.
  2. Email me mate at: friday 76 @lycos.com (removing the spaces from the address). Cheers, Leigh.
  3. Hi mate, could you please get in touch with me ASAP as to whether you still want the phone and the rear bumper. Cheers, Leigh.
  4. That's a very good point! I'd completely forgotten about the journal! Will have a looksee...Cheers guys :)
  5. See? Now you've spoilt it for everyone! ;) :D
  6. Cheers Dave :) All being well, (including smoothing over the headlight panel where the badge was) it should be done by the end of next week. Then it's a case of prepping her for the respray. Sadly, it looks like I might have to leave off chopping and fitting the non 300zx kit I had for it as the money I'd get from selling it is needed for parts for the VH45DE engine swap. But it's not the end of the world as she should still look pretty damn good. :) I've definately got a colour in mind! Going to post tonight to see what people think! ;) Leigh.
  7. Took my Zed over to a mates garage on Tuesday to start on (possibly!) the final set of body mods before the respray. His dad, Mike, has always been into restoring cars and as he’s just taken early retirement he’s looking for projects to keep him occupied. So, I decided to forget using a bodyshop for the remaining bits and instead work with him and kill two birds with one stone! After removing the spoiler on Tuesday and sussing out what stuff we needed, we got to work in earnest yesterday. We’d decided to chuck caution to the wind and go completely DIY on the tailgate, choosing to forgoe the normal routes of the Perspex panel or tailgate skin (which leaves a “lip” to the backend that isn’t quite to my liking). Sheet steel was cut out and tack welded over the central hole while steel rods were fixed to the lower boot edge to lessen the gap (the first rod that was welded in left too much of a gap so another was put in). None of the aftermarket bumpers I’d seen had really caught my eye so I decided to have a go at modifying my existing one. The concept for the entire car has always been to keep it as “factory fit” and as smooth as possible so with this in mind we went about making the bumper look as if it was meant to house a single exit exhaust. Steel rods were again used to form a basic frame and sheet steel tack welded in. After that we removed the rear wiper and the aerial, plated over the latter, then used an angle grinder to pair down all the welds. The final job of the day was to put a layer of fibreglass matting over all the holes and some of the plate ready for the filler that will start to go on Monday. Although I like Zeds with spoilers, now it’s off I much prefer mine without. Still in that scary “oh sh1t what am I doing stage” but hopefully by the end of next week it should start to look a bit more like! Should also say that all the welding was done by Mike as I'm cr@p at it! :D Will keep updating this thread with progress pics. Cheers, Leigh.
  8. Hey Minty, this will probably get me flamed but wanted to say sorry for the abuse you've taken so far bud. You came on here in good faith, even offering a decent prize and got a slating which I don't reckon is entirley fair. I've been a passenger in a standard KA driven hard by a member of this forum and in all honesty, although it isn't the quickest of beasts it handled really well. You could chuck it around like it was on rails and get the back end out when you wanted! Although I'll readily admit it's not a car I'd go for, we both thought the Sport KA version could be interesting so I imagine yours ain't half bad at all! Cheers, Leigh
  9. Kitty says hi. *Leigh in a bad mood due to missing out on U2 tickets* :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal
  10. And you say you aren't artistic  ;) It should be you doing a painting for me not the other way around! :D
  11. Not really your neck of the woods, but Leon at Alunox in Wrexham is the man to get in touch with for a quality system (was introduced to him by John Dixon, who had his own single exit made up by Leon). Absolutely amazing craftsmanship. His number's 07811196727. Cheers, Leigh.
  12. Sorry bud, I'm about to sort it! :)
  13. VERY good looking S15. And an impressive engine and suspension/brake set up to match! Never been a fan of the high level pylon spoilers but suprisingly it does seem to suit the car.

Now that's the kind of Ebay auction I like! PMSL at the Q&A's!:rofl::rofl:
  15. Hey Vijay, finally received an email back from the bodyshop! He didn't give me as much detail as I would've liked (i.e. no name of the exact model used!) but he did say he orders them through http://www.customconcepts.co.uk/ Just had a look on their site and it seems like they've got a good selection of kits on offer (not to mention an interesting selection of photos in their...ahem...bodywork gallery! It suprised me...I was expecting cars! :D) Have to say thanks to everyone for all the positive stuff that's been said about my project Zed, it's great to think you guys like it so far! :) Cheers, Leigh.
  16. Search me mate. I'm just gutted I paid £260 for them at the time  Still, I'm pleased with how they look. IMO chopper they definately look better than the Fiat jobs :) Leigh
  17. Yep, I'll be selling my spoiler when it hopefully comes off next week. Stevepud asked after it casually a week or so ago but if he's not interested I'll deffo keep you in mind mate. Cheers, Leigh.
  18. The pic in Dave's link is of the Fiat light conversion, sold by Luke. However, I believe Luke now has a mould for the proper Lambo light conversion (the lights are bigger and of a different design) and is in fact organising a group buy on them for £165 or possibly less depending on numbers. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=42293 I have these lights myself, bought from when they were being sold by Paul from Blackpool and IMO they are excellent. HTH Leigh.
  19. Think you may be right mate! TBH I don't know why I'm thinking of making more work for myself, I haven't even finished the bits I'd planned to do! Lol! ;) :D
  20. Just been having a look at martin252's pics in the Rides section after seeing his avatar. The front bumper caught my eye, an Abflug Type 4 (thanks for the info Martin :)) as I thought it really suited the Zed (see pic). Although I'm definately not thinking of getting rid of my modded 99 spec (only just got the damn thing on, see sig) it did give me some ideas on a few things that I could change. I like the fact it has done away with the standard light set-up, giving a smoother, cleaner look. What do you guys think about removing the standard fogs and indicators (I like them but always thought they were a bit too big and rectangular), covering and smoothing over the holes and recessing smaller, rounder units in their place, something like the TVR Tuscan in the pic below but nowhere near as big? As the headlights are quite square-ish I'm not entirley sure they would look right together...Mickey are you out there? ;) Leigh.
  21. Cheers for that Martin :) I don't think I'll be changing my own 99 spec bumper any time soon as it's only just been modified and fitted but I do really like the look of yours and TBH seeing it has given me a some ideas for a few radical changes! ;) :D Leigh.
