  1. probably worth a lot less than that not fixed unless it's a real nice example. I've had no interest at all in my 93/4 L plate in my ride at £2800 with lots mods no rust, long mot etc so money wise prob best fix it or break it
  2. ok cool thanks i'll connect it too the battery and disconnect battery
  3. is the fag lighter live when car is switched off? ie can one of those solar trickle chargers be connected through the ciggy lighter or does it have to be connected to the battery?
  4. don't know if this works or is balls but.... Am shamelessly lifting this from a post on another site: In the past, I have cured tappety engines by starting from cold and allowing the engine to idle until hot, ensuring NOT to rev the engine at all. The cause of the rattle had been down to customers using large amounts of engine flush, then re-filling with oil and revving the engine almost immediately. They would always say how quite the engine was before they changed the oil.. The hydraulic lifters then deflate and revving the engine prevents re-inflation, so the cycle continues. Using engine flush will be fine, and will certainly help clean out any crud that may have formed in the lifters. I would add the flush and run the engine for a while and leave overnight, then warm up the engine fully before the oil change. Try to leave the oil to drain for as long as possible, preferably for an hour or so.. and SAAB oil filter too.. Hope this helps

  11. a duff diode in an alternator can drain a battery. I had one in my escort was fine when running but if you left it for a bit would go flat(started off a few days to go flat but eventually a few hours at the the end of it's life). Was a new battery on there too and as is said above if I left the battery disconnected on parking up it would not go flat.
  12. I've seen 4" nails cut off and used as fuses also on some of our sires when the big 110v transformers come back they usually have a few extension leads that have been glued in to stop other workers unplugging them to use their own kit.

However when I fired it up to test I had like a yellow fog lamp like icon on the clocks (see pic) is this normal due to the difference in JDM not having the same rear fog(or even not having one from stock) as a uk ? any help appreciated everything works as it should including front and rear(aftermarket switch) fogs Also can anyone tell me where the switch for rear fogs is on a UK car? on this link the lamp icon is different it shows a seatbelt warning light in red http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=41352
  22. just found this and works fine I've a subscribed(not HD subscribed though only free to air HD channel) sky box. A useful tip so you DO NOT need freesat To receive the ITV HD channel through the SKY HD box it must be added as an Other Channel via the updated version of the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), if it’s been automatically downloaded and installed by Sky on your HD box (being upgraded throughout March – May. Note: I’m told you cannot add ITV HD to the older version of the EPG. You must wait for the automatic upgrade. You’ll know when you’ve been upgraded because the look of the new EPG is completely different from the old one.) However, because the ITV HD channel doesn’t appear in the main list of channels in the EPG, there is no live pause and it can’t be recorded — and currently it only shows programmes that are transmitted in HD. The rest of the time there is just a caption on the screen saying that the service is “currently unavailable”. Still, it’s useful to have it for things like football games, etc. To add ITV HD, go to the TV Guide, find Options in the top menu, then drop down and scroll along to Add Channels. Change the Frequency details to 11.427 and press Select. (Nothing happens.) Then change Polarisation to H. Leave the Symbol Rate as 27.5 and FEC as 2/3. Then press the yellow button for Find Channels. On the next page, there should be several services listed. Scroll down to Channel 10510 and press Store Channel. A tick will appear next to Channel 10510. This is the channel name for ITV HD, and it’s now stored in the box. To view the channel, go to the TV Guide, find Options in the top menu, then drop down and scroll along to Other Channels. Drop the cursor into the apparently empty listing box — and Channel 10510 will then appear. Select the channel. A bit complicated, but it’s better than not having access to it at all! Hope this works! Let me know how you get on. This information was originally provided by the I Love Sky HD / Sky+ HD group on Facebook.
