that's a pretty good deal is it still £10 a month extra for the facility? if so its good £120subs + £75=£195 with your subscribed package channels added. I think I paid £180 for my box off a private shop a year ago plus a £20 quad lnb+cable( i only get the free hd channels) but HD off sky then was near to £300 +£120subs what size boxes are they doing now with the deal? I've seen a few upgraded to 1Tb

you don't have to subscribe if you've be on contract for a year or more. You have the option to independantly buy and install your own hd box. Then all you have to do is phone sky up and tie the new box in with your viewing card.(sky don't tell you that as they want to sell you a box and subscription) You will only get the free hd channels (bbc hd ch4 hd and one other I think) you also have a bigger hdd with them. Whether or not it's worth it (subscribing) I supposed it depends on your package. The picture quality especially bbc hd is awsome. For some reason it seems the best out of all of them. I read somewhere they use different bitrates for different channels/programmes and only have to meet a minimum quality. sky 0ne hd didn't seem that good to be honest when I saw it running but on the same box and tv bbc hd was ten times better seems about right for sky :mad:

I also have a bravia with the hd box. I'm too tight to subscribe to the hd channels and bought my own box to get just the free ones. Channel 4 hd and bbc hd which are awsome. It was only slightly more than the normal sky+ box with twice the hard drive size.

I had restiricitons on my garage rebuild....waited weeks phoned them up they then said it's a bit complicated but can't find any planning regs to cover it so they let us carry on

leave it unplugged for a bit then try it. our thompson hd box when into full heat mode and was noisy as fook for days. unplugged it for a few hours and then was ok

on of our array of cats has broken the ball end of his hip joint. He's a cockey little shite but a lovely kitty. vet says ball of socket end has to be removed for him to recover properly. :cry: will know tomorrow that he has no nerve damage. So far we are sure he hasn't or any internal bleeding. he's only 2 but used up about 5 of his 9 lives so far
