  1. considering the highlighting fact of a wobbly viscous and finding out it is attatched to a water pump the given diameter of the fan /weight rotation speed etc put into a nr£5k build by a "specialist" I now believe to my findings and good mechanical practice would have advised this??? if fact I would go as far as to say in my job if something that relavent and cheap to change to a possible failure/damge ratio would be a crtitcal item
  2. it got towed back to him at my expense I even paid to have it replaced to get it back on the road. he sublte said it was smoking a bit but gave me the impression it would burn off and was probably crap somewhere from what had happened. It got much worse very shortly he then tried to turn it around saying I should have had the pump changed!!!!! I happilly paid what was 1.5K went to nearly 5K on the rebuild and he tried to blame me for cutting corners after I even paid for a cam belt agian becasue I was worried towards the end of the build
  3. I asked if it was all ok now, he said yes 100% spot on. I know nothing about cars I found all this out after the pump went
  4. I found this all out later something which a "specialist" would have know
  5. he changed the viscous fan as was flopping around which is attatched to the waterpump. He did not advise changing the pump under the circumstances as he sadi it was ok. I have a step son who works for porsche and said the pump would have automatically been changed given the wobbly viscous as it would throw the bearings. As did the AA report say the exact same thing it is routine to do this.
  6. he knows how to deal with it. I have had many solicitiors letters sent to him and phone calls and an eventual court threat with a reply after 2 months . He knows what it will cost me to take him to court and that it outweighs the outcome. The letter he sent back was a complete contradtion of what actually happened funnilly enough
  7. I would be happy for him to honour his WORD of 100% spot on
  8. I know I won't see any money from this I no longer expect to. I just would like to put my situation across and when a problem arouse I was left in the cold
  9. recommendations here and there
  10. like I said though It's gonna cost £4k to get £4.5 back small courts don't get your fees back under £5k if it goes to big court if you lose you pay their fees
  11. this has been going on since march this year I did my best for that car to get it to last with a good performance and though I was doing the right thing
  12. It just makes my pi#s boil that he still gets credit on here
  13. I have taken legal advice and also got a vehicle inspection all dates of work towing back to ztech for repair and the water pump in question also a AA vehicle inspection from the AA (car checkers) with a full report
  14. This is my exact side of the story and I am quite prepared to pay for legal defence as such. Ztech swindon
  15. He gave me every reassurance under the sun that it would be thouroughly checked and 100% spot on. was also supposed to set up the boost controller and I paid for another cam belt as was advised but the part That was wobbling around that he picked up on did not advise (as pushed for time as other peolpe were more important) did not even bother to check at these warning signs
  16. price given by specialist 1.5-2.5k for rebuilding what was wrong about 2weeks or so was the time given. anyhoo prices went up blah blah I did notify them that I had cam belt and water pump/idlers etc done already. 2 months later 6weeks after given time (£1000 of extras were added recon turbos and decat) a bill for nearly 5k(he forgot to add... get this£1000 for engine removal labour also he did the same for 3 other people he said as he used an email template) was given after also finding a wobbly viscous fan!!!. I asked him was all ok and why would the fan wobble (wobbling aroun all over the place) he said was a damaged fan shroud and rotors. 200 miles later the water pump collapsed and I am left with a car I have shelled £8k on that I can't sell for £1k
  17. right without naming names I will put it in my honest terms may take a while
  18. also the garage in question claims to be "the only 300zx garage specialist that is supported by the largest 300zx club in the UK www.300zx.co.uk" how does that work then?
  19. Wouldn't the post be pulled for legal reasons?
  20. think I would I feel he may be "protected" in here
  21. would love to murt but prob get banned
  22. Was thinking for garages that have excessivley overcharged for work carried out missed vital checks and blown your car up whilst taking £4.5k off you leaving you in a positition of court proceeding potentially costing £4k to recover £4.5k still trading with a grand name???
  23. Can we get a Name and shame section for good and bad experiences of garages? I see this rule applies for pepole who sell items like here http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=64841 but not garages
  24. good luck dude people aren't moving at the moment so a lot could be set to upgrade what they have. I've thought about going on my own many times but finding work and pricing , pulling money in is a full time job alone without actually doing the work put me off a bit. If there's two of you and you get on properly and trust eachother all should be a lot easier ..
