Every time I see your car it looks completely different ;) And better than the last time - nice work

any one from here
I think I've seen you mention your local roads a couple of times now Jay; it looks like we live or work only a few miles away from each other - can't believe we haven't spotted each other yet :) Look out for a blue import with a Scarab front bumper!

NZR What's the title of this 80s song/ballad
According to Google, it's "Room In Your Heart", by Living In A Box. http://home3.ecore.net/reneschubert/73.html Only song of theirs I ever remember hearing is "Living In A Box" itself :)

Dog Soldiers
Loved it too - not least for a film full of normal accents! (ex-Teessider, here ;) )

Feck. Smashed me Zed up
Only just seen the thread, Paul -- commiserations from a fellow Blue. Here's wishing things get sorted out with the minimum of hassle!

Chemistry lesson for Friday
Regarding the carroty conundrum - its because beta-carotine, the stuff that makes carrots orange and used for food colouring, doesn't get digested inside yer tum. Therefore any other bits and pieces in there get soaked in the stuff and come out looking orange. Yum :)

Why do people scratch cars ?
Is this leading to some kind of undertray/bumper conversion to give your Z twin mounted crossbows that fire out of the intercooler ducts?? :D

The mmHg scale is "millimetres of Mercury" - I think its roughly half the equivalent PSI measurement. What the hell is the "goosehonk" noise?? :D

Zed spotted
Apologies for hijacking the thread but I have another sighting: Nice black Z with personalised plate and a pair of big single-bore exhausts in Tesco Sandhurst this dinnertime. Anyone?

Why do people scratch cars ?
Jealousy is probably spot on. Some people think the owner of the care is 'showing off' with it, and so key it to 'put them back in their place'. Some people are just unable to imagine how their actions affect others (a genuine psychological problem, if I remember right).

nzr - help from the IT massive please!
It sounds to me like Harve has been making his *own* tracks, and wants to get them on a CD. If this is the case then... 1) I'm guessing that the editing software has given him a 32Meg buffer to work within, which is why all the files are coming out at 32Meg when they get saved. You might be able to tell the software to save only the 'in-use' part of the buffer. If not, crop the waveform yourself before you save it. Maybe that will bring the size down. 2) Mostly already answered. If you want to create a CD of the tunes, though, don't convert them: you need them in WAV format. 3) You can't use "Send to" to put files on a CD. At least, I don't think you can... maybe you could with a CD-RW drive and some clever software. Get some CD burning software (Nero, Easy CD, etc) and use that to write all the tracks. Actually, after thinking about it a bit more I think most of what I said in answer to question 1 is probably bollocks  I'll leave it though, in case it might actually help. :D

Front bumper
Chris, are you planning on putting any mesh into the bumper scoops? I got a Scarab fitted a while back and I've got used to how it looks without any, but people keep telling me I should get some mesh put in :) Is it possible to get the mesh fixed in place without pulling the bloody bumper off again?

Sold my Honda Prelude and looking to buy a 300ZX
I think the only thing that hasn't been answered recently elsewhere is the question of rear seat space: You should be able to fit two reasonably big adults in on the passenger side without much trouble, but space behind the driver is usually pretty small!

Skylark on Top Gear
Bollocks, I missed this one as well :o Is it repeated anywhere?

Vibromatic
Spot on, Dan. Had a drive yesterday after getting a simple rebalance of the front wheels and the vibration is completely gone - the car is driving better than it ever has in the two years I've had it! Moral of the story: even if you've had a wheel balance, try taking it somewhere else for a 'second opinion' - hopefully somewhere with a newer and higher-precision balancer. Thanks again for the advice guys :)

Vibromatic
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Had the car looked at and there did turn out to be a very slight warp in the drivers-side disc, though the mechanic reckoned this wouldn't be enough to cause the problem I had. He did suggest though that any friction caused by it would heat up over time and maybe lead to the brake sticking a little and hence to some vibration  That might be of interest when others get similar problems, maybe :) Had the wheels rebalanced, anyway, and the bushes lubricated. Off to give it a blast and see if that's helped.

Vibromatic
Guys, Did a long journey up north a few days ago to visit my parents, and noticed my car's vibration has come back a bit stronger. I mostly feel it through the steering wheel around 70-80mph (and felt it very strongly once while braking), but it's there in very small amounts a lot of the time. Had the wheels balanced a while ago which helped but didn't get rid of all the vibration, and like I say, its back stronger now. I reckon it might be the front discs, what do you reckon? I'm about to head out to a local garage and get it looked at, so I was just wondering if anyone had a average price off-hand for a pair of front discs? Any other ideas on a possible cause would be welcome too. Thanks in advance

clear rear light
Sounds cool - any chance you could post a pic of how it looks?

windows NT/ formating hard drive
Have you checked/changed the BIOS to make it boot from the floppy, or is still not playing even after doing that?

Farewell to car cleaning
Christ on a bike! £15? Is that a reduced price for doing a bunch of cars, or just normal single charge? One of the blokes in the office gets his Omega done every now and again: £50 for what sounds like a very similar job!

brand/nearly new 300zx
But you may as well replace the word "ZX" with "car" :)
