  1. I need some help here people...... My 300 is very hard to find 2nd gear, and crunches when coming out from 3rd. No crunch going into any gear. Also, when in 4th only, the gear stick feels and sounds like it is being hit by something, a very random knocking noise, every now and then, but only in 4th. I can only assume the clutch is foobarred, or would it be symtoms of a dry box (no oil) or worse case, a shagged box (hope not). Any advise, as always most welcomed. Cheerz, Alz. Manual TT jap with Z1 premium shortshifter, standard (old) clutch and standard box, btw.
  2. Not the best pics............ Alz.
  3. Oh, and the relocation brackets were spot on!!! Alz.
  4. It didn't take too long did it? lol!!! They are amazing, stopping power is great, but it does come at a price :( Alz.
  5. Cheers mate. I know, cannot believe I have waited this long!! Also, just a plug for the guy who done the work..... http://www.fast-eddys.biz/ Eddy is in Norwich, great bloke and very thorough with his work. Anyone in the area that needs work done, he is the man!! (His rates are very reasonable too). Alz.
  6. Well, I finally done it today....... Got my front Evo VIII Brembo calipers fitted (at last!!) with the relocation brackets, new disks, braided lines and yellow EBC pads. Loads of room behind my Ultralites, and no clearence issues, happy days!! The response is awesome, and they look good too. Only took a few piccies, but enjoy. So now my old set up is for sale..... Nissan 350Z track discs, 300zx alloy calipers, relocation brackets, EBC yello pads with lots of meat left, braided lines and all the hardware. I will post the pics and for sale thread in a few days. Alz.
  7. And by far the best rebuild u will ever get, from a top300 mechanic.......... (I got a "Jimmer enterprise rebuild"!!) Alz.
  8. Same here........... Also for the SMIC's to have more free flowing air at the rear, air easier to exit, rather than the exiting air hitting a plastic wall (the inner front wheel arch lining).............. Alz.
  9. Fantastic answer JP............ Brilliant!!!!!!! Alz.
  10. Funny thing that........... uprated turbo fitment..............
  11. It could be a turbo issue here........ Have you had the standard turbo's changed and fitted uprated tub's from a mechanic that think he knows what he is doing, but clearly does not......

mmmmm......... I would give it a go.... Alz.
  13. MAF faults start around 3000-4000 rpm....... remove the MAF sensor and inspect the wire for fault indications. Alz.
  14. You will need a new top rad bracket, the original brackets are too small. I can supply this for you, at a very good price, in Aluminium...... polished, powder coated in a colour of your choice, or sanded ready for painting. Pm me for details, pics and prices..... Alz.
  15. I am Jim......... The 350z is a great set up, but I got some Evo VIII brembo calipers ready to fit this Monday............. Can't wait!! Alz.
  16. That will be an epic journey matey, I bet you cannot wait............
  17. Many of these ebay shortshifters will eventually end with a rattle. The bearing is a very low quality item and tolerances are very slack. I have had 3 shortshifters and all bearings had bad vibration, 2 from the start and 1 after 6 months. The only shortshifter to install is the Z1 shifter, great quality, minimal tolerances on the bearing and housing, and from a trusted 300zx trader. Link below.... http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_11&products_id=2565 Alz.
  18. They look fantastic matey......... Will stop the zed on a "sixpence". Looking forward to the fitted pictures Dan. I am finally getting my brembo set up fitted Monday......... I cannot wait!! Alz.
  19. Well............. I have checked my timing and it is bang on 15dtdc, I have a new fuel reg and damp, new fuel filter, new walbro fuel pump, 550cc injectors are working fine, new splitfire coilpacks, new injector and coilpack connectors with a/c spec splices......... Got the new plugs fitted now, just need to give the ol' girl a blast to see if the dredded det is still lurking around....... Will post up in a few days. Alz.
  20. Very nice Dan....... Did you get the discs and pads? Alz.
  21. Woop, Woop...... Summer is well and truly on it's way people........... So, r we gonna meet up or what!?!? Alz.
  22. I'm gonna do mine the same..... looks great!!!! Alz. :glare:
  23. The spark is not blowing out, just getting det over 14 psi. The plugs may not cure the problem, just trying to rule most things out, and I haven't changed the plugs for a long long time. Alz
  24. Cheers for the info guys......... 0.8mm seems to be the norm for colder plugs, as you say Dave (after trawling the interweb....), but I do not trust the "pre-gapped" setting. I will set these puppies (and I do like puppies.....) to 0.8mm and let you know the findings..... Thanks again puppies.... lol, I mean people.... Alz.
