Recovering the targa trim
I used leather, i also did the top sections of the rear panels next to the rear seats and matches fine :thumbup1:

one for the one piece prop guys
No vibration from the prop, but with having spacers on the front end, i get a vibration at 60 due to knackered spigot rings :biggrin:

No. 5 Cylinder down
Have you checked the terminals for oxidization on the ptu connectors? While you have your multimeter out, check the ohmage of the coil packs, middle and left pin again, you are looking for 0.7-1.0 ohm, so if the coilpacks are good and within spec you can rule them out. Also check the ohmage on your injectors, use a large flat screwdriver to lever gently up and careful not to lose the retaining clip, you are looking for 10-14ohms, anything outside this spec it will be over or under fuelling and will also likely to cause a misfire if dead. Next check your maf voltage : The manual volt test= ~0.8V with ignition on (some people get 0.08V on theTechtom) and ~1.5V at idle. Check for smooth increase in voltage as revs are increased. A faulty AFM will often prevent the engine from revving over 2500RPM Also a dead maf will make it run like a pig even if it does rev above 2.5k. If all come back within spec, then check you ptu harness and finally swap ptu. If you can get it on a diagnostic, it will make pinpointing the problem alot easier.

targa leak is doing my head in!
Also check your targa end caps/finisher, i have only just realised mine has been missing while contemplating buying new for the respray and the end cap helps hold the lip of the targa rubber tight to the targa body, without it, leaks inside the outer end cap and on to my lap.

Running your own business
You wont go far wrong mate speaking to Richard about the books and business. I would also add, it depends on the type of business you want to buy, is the established business reliant on the current owners status in the grand scheme of things, goodwill, client base etc.... Or would you benefit from starting a fresh and growing in the same field. Working for yourself does have its pro's and cons, but can be far more rewarding, not just financially than working for a company.

ohms test on the idle valve
I had an injector that you could hear clicking away it was reading 17ohms, which was outside spec, so although it worked, it was overfuelling. Have you got scantech or datascan? If not i have a copy i could mail you. This may help with the other sensors, Sensor voltages.pdf

Hi Paul, from the info i have on sensor voltages: o FICD = Resistance = ~22 Ohm Ω & 12V to check operation. You can also apply a direct 12V and earth to the unit, disconnect and reconnect the earth and listen for a solid 'thunk'. o AAC = Resistance = ~10 Ohm Ω & 12V to check operation. You can also apply a direct 12V and earth to the unit, disconnect and reconnect the earth and listen for a solid 'thunk'. Also via datascan: look for 15-40% @ idle & 75-85% while cruising Air Regulator~70-80 Ohm Ω (if not=replace)

Yes that as well lol, ive got 4 air fresheners in mine and smells like fresh linen all the time, especially since ive placed the tubs in the vents :thumbup:

Coil packs as you look at the 3 pins from the side of the engine, middle and left pin and need to be 0.7-1.0 ohm, mine were all 1.0 ohm

Yes use a multimeter set to ohms, a reading between 10 and 14ohm is within range and anything outside that then its shot. I did mine this week and had one injector at 17ohms, replaced with a spare at 12.5ohms. The injector was still working by the way with the screwdriver test, but would have been and was overfuelling.

I dont know whether it was a price on the day deal, but i was a little miffed by the price my other half paid, approx £200 for the Aston Martin thrill as a present through a friend who runs a Park catalogue, but on the day, 3 laps was £95, 4 laps £115 and that was to drive any car that was there inc the Maclaren, so next time, i would look on the website to find out what days are available and either book direct or just turn up on the day. £25 for one lap as a passenger in the VXR i felt a little steep, 2 laps at least would be better value:thumbdown:

After the AM definitely :biggrin:, obviously a dead maf will do this, but it just kept bogging down, once i got up to 70-75 it stayed until i hit a hill and struggled at one point doing 45mph up a hill, which was a bit embarrassing lol, cannot wait for a replacement maf.

So sorry to hear about Rosie RIP, we have a lab, she is about 10 years old and is one of the softest dogs you could ever meet and im dreading the effect on the family when she eventually goes and having lost a beloved cat, i know how you all must be feeling. All the best to the family

Had a great day, zed made it ok with a knackered maf, probably used up loads more fuel trying to keep some reasonable speed, especially uphill lol. Weather was spot on for the drive and on arrival i couldnt believe how many people were there to have a go at driving a supercar. Aston Martin DB9, DBS, Vantage, Ferrari's, Lambo's, R8's, Maclaren, KTM's, GTR's and a couple of Monaro vxr's which took passengers for a high speed session round the track, absolute monster cars and considering the price of that lot, the Monaro can be had quite cheaply. I really enjoyed the DB9, i have always liked them and i always thought one day i would have one, but alas just about afford to run a zed lol, so a dream it will stay, for now. I got 36 out of 40 in my driving score, i lost a couple of points for not braking early enough at Hammerhead and getting too close to a lambo in front, but all good and would do it again. Would be nice to see if we could get a zed meet and track run there one day. Couldnt get much over a ton, due to the way the track was laid out, got to 106mph at one point but you then have to start braking for a corner, but i guess it wasnt just about how fast you could go, it was to experience the drive. I got an in car vid of me driving, one camera on me and one on the track, bit much a £30 for the memory stick, but a momentum to savour the moment. Heres a few pics - - - Updated - - - more
