  1. Im deffo up for going, look forward to it. And if Paul (300zedx) can make the effort to come from Rochester im sure a few more local guys can come, the weather is supposed to be good for sunday. Cheers Graham
  2. Just cut off the back part of the bulb holder thats catching the IC's and hot glue the bulb holder in place within the housing, bit of a bodge but you get to keep the original lenses. Alternatively put some amber leds within the housing either on a board or similar and do away with the bulb holder. By cutting away the rear plastic of the housing it will fit as it originally would and clear the IC's.

  4. Hi Stu I had a voicemail, but i thought you must have hit my number by mistake, cos all i could hear was awalking sound, like it was in your pocket lol. I tried to call back but kept getting your message service. Shame as the weather was great, as it is today. Maybe next. Cheers Graham
  5. Leds tend to be reliable on the whole, but it could have been anything from cheapo or badly put together, i wouldnt have thought it would be anything in the dash that would have caused them to blow, apart from metal touching some of the tracks which do carry voltage and causing a surge or short. Check the link on the led thread for new ones, 5 way leds, 5 for about a fiver. Cheers Graham
  6. The ptu might be the culprit, if the connectors are not in tightly, it will not fire. The ptu is like a distibutor.
  7. The bulbs are independent of each other, so if one works, sounds like the others have blown. Very unusual for an led to blow though. Good luck Graham
  8. Hi Iain Its not so much adding channels as they are converting more channels to HD, i think they are converting a couple more movie channels this month, so im told. Cheers Graham
  9. Considering i was told it could be more than a grand, im happy with the outcome. Obviously i would have been happier without a fine at all, but it was inevitable, so a good result considering.
  10. Hi Iain Definitley worth it imo. The digibox seems to clean up the existing channels as long as its connected with a hdmi cable. There some more HD channels going up soon. Cheers Graham
  11. Yep, i have series 1 mirrors, bought some series 2 thinking they would just plug straight in, but have the larger plug for the heated mirror. Rear demist button on, operates the heated mirror. I didnt know they were series 2 till i tried to fit them lol
  12. It may not sound like good news to you, but after last time its bloody great news. I have a 3.5ton Iveco van, which i use for carrying p.a and lighting around for my band and i got pulled by VOSA on the M1 in June and weighed. It was just a tonne over weight:shock: Now the last time this happened to me was about 4years ago in a single wheel iveco and i was a tonne and half over and got fined £1100.00:shock: This time in my twin wheel van i got fined £433.00. So although generally wouldnt be happy about getting fined for something, i am quite happy with the result. So basically although the iveco is a great vehicle and has a huge cubic load, the payload/weight it can carry is not good. It seems that VOSA are having a purge on vans at the minute so if you have a van, my advice is to get it weighed. Most vans on the roads today, not currently run by big business' will be overloaded.
  13. If all the dash and pod lights are off, it will be a fuse in the kick panel. Some fuses look ok till you take them out, some spade fuses have an arc and some have an "S" shape. The arc ones you can plainly see if they are gone without taking the fuse out, the "S" blows or breaks usually at the bottom of the "S" which you cant see unless you remove the fuse. Unless you have a major problem, i wouldnt have thought the leds will have blown, it should be the top row and 3rd one in iirc.
  14. Leds in the back of the dash to light the guages? or you talking about the pods. Leds in the dash: will only work one way round due to the polarity unlike a normal bulb, if you took them out to clean, you may have put them in the wrong way round, take them out and turn 180deg to work. all the best Graham
  15. Just the one little black box on the drivers side, rear lights, behind the plastic cover.
  16. If you have a HD tv that utilises hdmi cable, then go to the button on your remote control that gives you the input options ie: TV- AV1- AV2- HDMI. If you find the hdmi dedicated channel, you will notice a big difference.
  17. Was the tv tuned to a channel for sky or through the hdmi on the sources button of the tv remote?
  18. The poor picture you will see on a HD tv with normal sky or ariel pics are due to the fact that the pixel quality of the television is so high that it emphasises the poor signal sent to it. The sky HD box converts the definition to a higher ratio so that it appears to be better quality and the HD channels available on sky at the minute are top notch quality. You must use a HDMI cable to connect the box to the TV, but if you get it fitted by an installer, they will set it up for you. Also one big difference when you see the HD tv's in curry's for instance, they play a blue ray disc theough it, so it looks amazing and helps sell the tele. I bought a 32" samsung hdtv and when i got it home and plugged everything in the usual way ie: scart, i thought the picture was pants. So after a long conversation with someon that new what they were on about, i decided to go for the sky hd digbox and never looked back.
  19. Sky alone through a HD tv looks crap, but Sky HD with the HD box is a 1000 times better and although there are only a dozen or so HD channels at the minute, They look amazing ie: HD discovery channel, underwater coral etc is superb. The rest of the channels are really cleaned up with the HD box compared to the old sky box. I tried to type as many HD's as poss lol
  20. Look superb for that sort of money, nice one.
  21. The speed sensor wire is yellow/green. This may help http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=29201
  22. Nice one bud, you could do with cheering up lol, get some pics up, will be good to see it. All the best Graham
  23. I have been adding pieces of info and links gradually within the faq section and instead of putting up links to various sources of info that may disappear over time or photo's that might not appear for whatever reason, i am trying to create as much relevant Z32 information in pdf file format as possible. This takes a little time and I will be uploading as it becomes available. If anyone has any How To's, manuals or instructions they think would benefit other members, either pm with info or a link and i can create a pdf file containing the relevant info. Or Post up in a thread. Eventually i would like to have as many tech guides, links and info updates as possible in a dedicated part of the faq section that look similar to the online manual ie: no junk or conversation. Extra info or useable debate on the best way to do a certain task can then be added to the relevant section. I hope this is clear on what we are going to produce, together for the good of the Z community:D Any suggestions welcome. Cheers Graham
  24. Ive added the links to the faq section to help anyone else who might need to install one. Thanks to Gumball3000 and Al's on 19's for the links. If any one else has additional info or more pics, let me know and i will put together a pdf file in one location. Cheers Graham
  25. No problem stu, anytime youre over this way let me know. Unfortunately im working the weekend of the Goodwood meet, i would have gladly gone to that one in a shot, but i will try to get to the next pheonix meet. If you are on about changing the bulbs to leds for your brake light in the spoiler then it can be done, you may get the dash light out warning though as it will think a bulb has gone (possibly) depends if it is wired to the brake lights direct or from the light sensor module behind the rear offside light cluster in the boot. They are a standard 501 fitting iirc. Cheers Graham
