hi to everyone,
Hi and welcome IIRC the props are different but the centre bearing is the same, the TT does differ slightly. Cheers Graham

o2 sensors - what are the currect resistance readings
Red and blue? usually red, black and a white, Probably not aftermarket, may be discoloured from the heat. You are looking at getting a cycle reading akin to an led sound bar up and down with the beat of the music. The best way to be sure is to get it on a consult diagnostic, you can actually see the sensors working............. or not Cheers Graham

o2 sensors - what are the currect resistance readings
Hope this helps Warm the car up, and with the car at hot idle and with the connectors all plugged in, insert an open safety pin into the end of the connector along the red wire, making sure that it makes contact with the red wire inside the connector. Connect the voltmeter (low volts range, eg 20 V) with red probe to the safety pin and black to earth. You should see 12 volts DC. Note the engine should be above 2,000rpm while performing the test. Then plug the safety pin into the white wire, making sure that it makes contact with the white wire inside the connector. Connect the voltmeter (low volts range, eg 2 volts) with red probe to the safety pin and black to earth. A good 02 sensor when warm should show the voltage moving between around 0.3 volts DC and around 0.7 volts DC - this is the ECU cycling the oxygen content (via varying the fuel content) to keep the ratio correct. At higher revs, the upper voltage increases from memory, but it always cycles, except possibly at WOT (which I recommend that you DON'T do while parked in the driveway! ). If the voltage reading doesn't cycle, then it's probable that the 02 sensor or cable/connector is stuffed. I'm not sure about the Zed, but some/most 02 sensors take a while to heat up, so until the engine and exhaust are hot enough, the ecu usually operates in 'open loop', which means that the voltage won't vary. Thus, you have to do the test when the engine is hot, eg after a 10 minute drive. The Black/red wire is a heating wire I think - most 02 sensors have a heating coil in them to help them heat up. NOTE! I've seen a Zed 02 sensor test article on a web page somewhere which says to check the resistance between the red/black wire and the black wire - this is only testing the heater coil, not the actual 02 sensor, so it's not a valid test. Lastly, the Zed ecu controls the 02 sensors via the black wires to each sensor. THEY DO NOT GO STARIGHT TO EARTH. Don't use the black wires for the above test - use a chassis earth, or the battery negative. Cheers Graham

New here and wanted to introduce myself
Hi Andy and welcome, you have a stunning zed there and a great idea for the headlight glass, be careful when trying to advertise for sale, items, as a registered user, please be aware that we have had a few issues with registered users trying to ply their goods or trying to sell in bulk an item deemed or classed as trading. You will no doubt have the same principles in your forum across the water, so it would be a good idea to contact the TLO(znut) for permission when selling or group buys. Cheers Graham

exhaust removal
Very carefully lol. The studs from the manifold to the downpipes tend to be prone to snapping if you dont prepare carefully. Use some wd40 or (cant think of the name at the mo) eases nuts and bolts etc. Or heat them up a little to allow the nuts to come off easier. Take your time with each nut at first, dont go at them like a bull in a china shop, cos if they snap, they are a bitch to drill out ( from experience). Apart from the stated, its very straight forward and if you are lucky and all the nuts come off easily, you can have it done in less than half an hour. Good luck Graham

Handbrake Warning Light
Blown bulb and as they are at the bottom of the dash binnacle, unless you have really small hands, you will need to take the pods off etc to get the dash out.

kph clocks
You want it to read in kph? It will be more likely you either have a delimiter box or a chipped ecu, the speed sensor in the gearbox shouldnt make any difference, its down to the electrical settings rather than mechanical

The rear disc incorporates the parking brake shoes

Hand brake
You dont take the rear discs off, there is an aperture (access hole) in the hub of the disc where you can adjust the knub/cog screw with a small flat blade screwdriver as you would with adjusting shoes on a drum braked car.

Advice needed: Articulated wall mount brackets for monitors
I think there are wall brackets that can swing out for flat screen tv's, Failing that you could go to a fabricator to make some plates to accommodate a round long U shaped beam, so the flat plate on the wall and one on the back of the screen or speaker and the round bar can then be swiveled at the wall and at the speaker end, if you can picture what i mean I_____I

Zrun 09 review
Hi all Bit of a long read, but hopefully give you an insight to our journey. After having returned from the zrun to Amsterdam, i thought i would write a short review for those interested in taking part next year. Meeting at Dover with anticipation of everyone arriving, i couldnt wait to get the journey started. We had mini meet while waiting for Wozzer, zogg and Jimmytt at a garage just down the road from the ferry terminal. We all left the garage to head for the ferry and it was nice to see a convoy of zeds. Unfortunately, while waiting in the queue for tickets, Ianl's car started smoking. It looked pretty bad at first, but turned out to be a water hose or something, thank god it wasnt on fire. A decision had to be made quickly, whether Ian was going to risk getting on the ferry and trying to sort it the other side or just call it a day. He made the sensible decision to get the car transported home, we all felt for him, must have been gutted. Finally on the ferry and ready ourselves for the journey ahead, bear in mind not many of us had much sleep the night before, if any lol. Nice chat and get to know session on the ferry with Wozzer giving us our Tshirts and stickers and a talk about the journey and what to expect. Most of us hadnt realised that Wozzer spent many years out in Holland, working and living there, so not only knew the sights etc, but spoke Dutch fluently, which was a big plus for us.:) The roads were perfect for a long drive, fairly straight and i couldn't believe how flat the terrain was on the whole journey, great for fuel consumption. The guys on the trip where a pleasure to be with. From all walks of life and interests, brought together by one love, driving the zed. Its always great to have characters on a road trip and believe me we had plenty. Wozzer:bow::bow: Organised a great trip to remember, he knew where to take us for the best possible experience and not such, the nutter you would expect him to be:rofl: He really looked after us and had some great stories to boot. The boys from Wales, Funkybugaloo (Mike) and his son jonesy boi ( Alex) were a hoot, funny and friendly and jonesy boi was instrumental in taking a load of pics and videos, hanging out the car window most of the time, he got some great shots and with his wit, along with his dad made us laugh. Zogg( Pete) What a lovely guy, always smiling and up for a laugh, he and Wozzer were the lead car for the trip and a great job they did too. Jimmytt and his mates. Now after reading alot of posts from Jimmy over the past year i expected him to be a right nutter and i was looking forward to meeting him. All round nice guy and his car is looking seriously sexy. His mates went along for the Amsterdam experience and i think they had a great time, although so steamed most of the time they probably didnt remember much:rofl: Madmarco and Kanan: Poor marco got side swiped by a british lorry driver on the motorway heading towards our destination, but although there was a bit of damage to his car, he didnt let it get in the way of his fun. Marco was the last car in the convoy and held off the traffic well for us when we needed to overtake, great job Marco. Kanan, his son, had fun and joined in with the festivities and brought some intelligence to the madness. I would personally like to say a big big thanks to marco for bailing me out of the brown stuff, a cock up with my bank left me with no money during the first day and he got me through the weekend like a real star, i will never forget the kindness shown by all, which makes being a member of a great community worth its weight in gold. Tulip(Trish) and her sister bulb(Rita) were already in Amsterdam on business, but stayed on to meet up with us for a couple of days, nice to have the ladies along, had some great chats again:) They even managed a bit of a convoy with us, when we dropped them to the train station. The food, the atmosphere of the whole place was so relaxed and friendly, it was just so nice get away from blighty for a while. We saw the best of Amsterdam and had some fun with the photos. The journey back was more scenic than the way up, we made our way to the coast to the beach for lunch, the food was ace, they really know how to make good food over there. The highlight of the trip back were the tunnels, in which, of course we opened up the loud pedal and what a sound:hyper: and i would also like to state the obvious: The TT's are bloody quick, i just never realise before how quick they are compared to my N/A and thats not particularly slow:tongue: But regardless of speed we all kept together very well, even in traffic. All in all, i would recommend this trip to any body contemplating on going next year, its a fun but long drive, which lets face it, the longer we can drive our babies the better IMO, the company was spot on, a nicer group of people you couldnt wish to meet, the food and accommodation first rate. I for one will be one of the first to put my name down to go again next time as it was a trip not :nono: to be missed. I will upload my pics soon but im sure once all the vids and pics are ready they will go up for all to see. Cheers Graham

caliper movement
Are you sure the caliper is moving? . The calipers are held in place by 2 bolts, so unless you have a bolt snapped its more likely that the pads move slightly

The saturdays
I went to see Girls aloud in the summer (yeah i know) no comment, but the saturdays were supporting them. I found it strange to have an all girl band supporting another all girl band, but i have to say they were stunning. The music is pretty good too lol, i love the blonde one

ATT: zrun09 ...meeting point Dover..!!!
Got all my bits today:hyper: £22 fricking quid for a triangle:smash: The inbred behind the counter said, "you will need a bulb kit", i knew damn well they wouldnt do one for the Z, but i humoured him for a while. I said i dont need bulbs for the back lights as they are afterburner leds, He said you will still need bulbs as the police may want to see that you have them. Thats fine i said as long as they dont ask me to fit them :smash: I will be there about 4:15am, just in case we need to shift a bit earlier.
